I've wanted to get into the Futurama web community for a while now, but with my Family Guy site I know I wouldn't have the time to make a full-on website. So...I already have the php scripts made up from my episode rate and review feature, and they just need to be slightly altered for the job...has there ever been a Futurama links site/is there one now?

A few years back there were several great links sites. The greatest of them all, Planet Roadmap, closed about 3 years ago. The last one, Futurama Nerve Center, closed about 1½ year ago.

At the moment we (as in Futurama Madhouse: The Leela Zone) offer the best collection of links out there at our Links Zone.

Also looks dead, considering the last update is almost 7 months ago.

Plus Zoidberg is semi-retired from the web-scene, Futurama Center is only up as an archive as far as I know.

Oh yeah... now that I see the url (dc-games.de), you're right.  :(

Yep, the Futurama-Center is just a webarchive Archive, the news systems on it is based on the FC (not FuturamaChat) forums.

After all.. If there weren't Homies' Futurama Area and futuramasutra.de (which is also pretty calm) the German Fanbase would be dead.  :hmpf:

Yeah, even Der Hip Joint is kinda dead, outside off-topic that is. Which is a real shame, the German sites were some of the most wellkept on the Internet. Particular Futurama Outlet was a shock to see go down.

Edit: which also explains why there are no exclusively links-site in the Futurama community at the moment: there really aren't that many good, regularly updated websites out there.

It's so sad to see the community dying before I even had a chance to make a contribution to it.

Is not dying damn it!
Sorry, is just that no one really tries to run a decent Futurama Links site. You should consider what PR - Planet Roadmap did. Jason Baranabe created many interesting sections such as The Stupid Ages (Websites layouts, one by one, with a rating and comment), Interviews (To webmasters and others), Webmasters Around the World (That showed you where did all the webmasters live, in a world map). A Futurama Links site is a reason why webmasters create new Futurama sites, to check the site's grade and it also lets you know what you can improve to have a quality site.

OK, thanks for all your help guys. I'm going to go ahead and start work on this, and JavieR you've given me a lot to think about. I take my time with my work, espeically when it's starting on a new site, so don't expect anything from me for at least a few months. Thanks again guys!

Just to illustrate a bit of what JavieR was talking about, here is a link to an archived version of Planet Roadmap.

Thanks dudes, I'm going to start drawing out a layout for it this weekend. If any other helpful advice you have about it comes to mind please post it as I really want to make this the best it can be.
