Don't know, I always thought they communicated through CGEF.
I'm happy just with Ian Boothby hanging around.

At least on a regular basis. One of the board artists signed up a few days after the hiatus was announced under the name Guffman, even made a few posts.
Some of the Rough Draft people (have?) frequent(ed) the board too.
I guess we scared them all away with our geekiness.

Apperntly they do,well at least they visit. In the That's Lobstertainment! commentary, David said he went to CGEF to check the ep. rating for it, knowing they had them. As he looked at the ratings one guy kept on complaining how horrible it was, so David e-mailed him asking why it was so bad. The guy e-mailed him back saying that he was only joking. Also in the commentary for Where the Buggalow roam, someone mention Ain't No Such Thing As Too Much Amy Wong.

Well Groening of course, Ken Keeler and David X. Cohen. In terms of voice actors, Billy, Katey, John, Frank Welker, and Tress MacNeille.

Why on earth would the creators of the show would need an approval from someone who wrote a fanfic based on THEIR show? it should be the other way around, but since they want to encourage people to become fans of the show they don't demand it.
I think the more realistic answer is that they just all moved on to other projects, and sometimes try to pitch Futurama back, no more.

Yes, using the characters from Futurama in fanfics is legally questionable, but so is using plots in episodes that were created by other people, if you knew of it beforehand. Plots are also a kind of intellectual property. However if you didn't know such a plot was allready thought off beforehand, you can claim to be in good faith. That's why creators of shows don't read fanfics, then they can claim good faith.

Bless David A and his fine sense of humor. If Futurama folks are found lurking around here they are flogged by RDS's resident transvestite dominatrix. (and some even like a good spanking) Ouch!
