This may have been posted before (if anyone has a link to a previous post, please post it here for me), but what is everyone's dream extras on potential future Futurama DVDs (re-releases, etc.)?

Keep 'em coming ... I'm in a unique position to present a wishlist of Special Features to Fox. Of course, I have my own wishlist, but if you guys think of stuff I can't, that would be great. The catch is, I need it by tomorrow morning (Wednesday, June 30). Of course, there's no guarantee any of these will see the light of day, but you never know ...

I liked that table reading of 'A tale of two Santas', more stuff like that would be cool I think. Also a little game maybe, and of course more animatics and storyboards.

I'd like a featurette of Matt or DXC (or both) commenting about the show's evolution over it's run. Some comments have already been made in the commentary, but a featurette where is was all compacted into 30 min, along with some new thoughts on the matter would be super.

Definatly something behind the scenes... but if nothing has been filmed by now, then it can't really. Animatics would be good.

My first thought: definitely a featurette with a focus on the voice actors. I would love to actually see them recording (or just doing) all of the voices and hear their throughts on the show (besides what already in the commentaries, of course). I never tire of seeing voice actors perform (because it is a very seldom-shown thing... ).

Another feature that I would like would be a featurette that follows a single episode from initial concept through to airing, I've heard much about the process and all the different steps, but it would be cool to see it on a featurette, perhaps hosted by DXC.  I think this would be hard to do with a cancelled show, but this is a dream list, right?

One thing that I would like to see (but would be incredibly surprised if any animated show ever did this) would be a complete coverage on every episode.  Scripts (both viewable on-screen, and in .pdf format), storyboards (same), animatics, cut scenes and cut audio/bloopers (audio bloopers would be cool enough alone), and, of course, the final episode. Very unlikely, I think, but it would be incredible.

As for other random-ish features... advertisements (TV and otherwise) for the show, magazine covers, things like that. Basically everything official created for the show (with the exception of specific merchindise, of course), should be availible on the DVD. As complete as possible.  And it should come with a hat. And a tour of the studios while they make new episodes. And a guest appearance in a background scene of said episodes with a signed certificate stating that it is you. And a small European country. And... it should be free. (sorry, got carried away...)

extensive interviews with the cast. Katey Sagal especially since she is never in the commentaries.

extra commentaries in general would be nice. like one done by just the cast. It probably wouldn't be very informative but i bet it would be funnier than hell. Especially if they did the whole thing in character.

more funny little skits by the crew, like that xmas greeting by cohan.

and lastly, some bloopers. like audio clips of the cast fucking up and any animation mistakes, like out of time lip sync or color mistakes etc..

Yeah, I'd like to see Katey do something...
And that extended Featurette idea sounds good (perhaps... a Feature!    )

I'd like a hidden easter egg which just contains Matt and co laying into a carboard cutout group of Fox executives (or real ones, of the cardboard ones aren't available). And DXC says "Ah-ha! Take that!" with every blow.

A tribute to the show, a montage of clips from every episode, and some closing words from the shows makers. Not just on a commentary, but on a filmed documentary. Also a gallery of every piece of mechandise ever made...

Well, I wish I'd found this topic sooner.

I dig behind-the-scenes stuff, so I'd love more of anything along those lines. Some footage of the actors in-studio recording the voices would be neat.

Also, as mentioned elsewhere on these boards, I'd love to hear David Herman on some of those commentary tracks. Katey Sagal, as well.

More behind-the-scenes featurettes, from both Rough Draft and Curiosity Company.

Cast interviews, staff interviews, the story behind the various characters, more table readings (preferably with visual (I know it's impossible with the show beaing daeth and all, but a man can dream)), animatics, production sketches.

And tell us what Nibbler meant with "She must be the other". The shippers are going crazy! Please, wont somebody think of the shippers!

I want to take the money they would have to spend on these ludicrous requests and instead use it to produce a fifth season! None of this behind the scenes crap!

Incidentally, I'd like to see some cast interviews, table reads, and David X Cohen auditioning for the role of Bender.  :D

Commentaries by Katey and Lauren.

In-depth commentaries that say exactly when MG came up with the idea for Futurma, how, when and why ALL of the characters were created and how they evolved from original ideas to the final versions on the show.

Thanks so much everyone for your input ... I compiled as much as I could before the meeting and added it to my own wishlist (which, by the end, was pretty much everything you guys mentioned) and then submitted it. We'll see if anything comes of it. Fingers crossed!

Futufan, hopefully you'll be able to divulge enough info just now to keep me excited. By re-releases I imagine you mean the season dvd box sets, but could that also mean themed DVDs for example with 4 episodes about Zoidberg or something?

I'd have to make a decision about if I'm enough of a fanboy to re-buy episodes I already own....New special features would make that decision much easier!

Much too early to tell ... it's out of my hands at this point I'm afraid. All that was asked of me, as a huge fan of the show (and as someone who could get input from other fans), was a wishlist. All we can do now is sit back and hope something comes out of it. Thanks again for the input.

A Section where you can read some of the best fanfics by fans.  The best fanfics that were read by Matt and David and decided to have a section on the DVD that allows you to read them and find out what Matt and David thought of them.

I know that your wishlist was already mailed, but we can still post our dream-feautures, correct?  :D

I say that some audition reels would be cool. And maybe not just the final cast's auditions, like Billy and Katey, either. "The voices that could've been, but weren't." I just like that sort of thing.

Naked pictures, naked pictures, and/or naked pictures. Uhmm.. But for serious..
A trivia game would be cool, but unfortunately so many DVD trivia/tabletop games are so.. thrown together. If work is put into it, I'm happy with any extra feature.

Sure ... why not (keep 'em coming). By the way, your request (the audition reels, but final cast and others -- like DXC audition for Bender) was on the list I sent to Fox.

Wonder what it would of been like with "bloopers". Probably very stupid and not funny but it's a ponder...

if they did it like the shrek dvd and showed actual legit bloopers instead of lame made up animated bloopers like Monster's INC, it might be fairly entertaining.

Damnit! I knew I forgot something.

The demo-tape of Ken Keeler singing the song from "A Tale Of Two Santas" would've been great to have included. According to the ATOTS commentary it's apparently funnier than a Mel Brooks movie.

Funny you should mention that because that actually was slated to be on the dvd, but it fell through at the last minute due to some sort of legal issue.

More table reads, definatly, especially for the episodes where they mention great table reads in commentary, like Leela's Homeworld. I was all..."stop tempting us, dammit!"

And most agreed to see Katey Sagal do commentary, especially on her bigger eps (I really want her reactions to ABBF2)

This is a late idea, but it would be AWESOME to record your voice on an episode. Just select the character you what to provide the voice for, and then record. Then listen to it after your done. Of course, you need a microphone and DVD-ROM for it. but it would be so cool.
