In Melbourne I know of two stores selling Futurama Comics, Minotaur and Comics R Us. But it appears you're a Queenslander, so that's not much help. You should be able to find a good online store, I'm sure someone here knows of one. But if you really want the cheapest prices, you might be better off waiting for the Australian releases, if you can bear being that far behind the rest of the world (here we're waiting for issue 9 to hit newsagents, whereas I recently picked up the direct edition of #16).

I'm from Perth, and every issue seems to cost $5.50 here no matter where I look. They cost even more to get mail delivered from Bongo, due to the postage & handling expenses. Still, issues are very easy to find in shops over here - I only know of one newsangency that doesn't stock them.

It's not really so much the price of them, considering that they only come out every 3 months & they don't really cost that much anyway, but it's more or less how behind we are. We're about 8/9 issues behind them, and we're never going to catch up at this rate.

So, if you want to be ahead & buy issues directly from America - go to an official comic book store. They import upcoming issues from the USA, and it only costs about 50 cents more.

Either way, I doubt you'd see an issue in Australia for less than 5 bucks.

Hey Pittzoid!

It really depends on where in Australia you are. Because there's not much point paying P+H charges to get comics sent from Tasmania if you live in Brisbane. Anyway, I (like Beamer) live in Perth and the only place I can actually find Futurama comics is at Quality Comics on Hay Street. If you want other merchandise as well, try Empire Toys (a few doors down). But this won't help you if you don't live in Perth! Anyway, I don't know of any Australian websites that sell the comics, but your best bet would probably be Borders. Good luck!

Really? Wow, I've seen Futurama Comics in just about every Newsagency in this city - in fact, the ones owned by Newspower almost always seem to stock them. They're usually right next to the Simpsons Comics in the stores.

I can't believe you haven't found them anywhere else... Unless you've been looking at a bad time. They come out every 3 months, but they tend to take them off the shelves after 2 months - so there's always a month period right before new issues come out. Anyway, #9 is out right now - and I've personally found it very easy to get. Like I said, maybe you've just been looking in the wrong places at the wrong times?

They are usually everywhere. I went to one newsagency when I was in Perth and it had the latest one.

I haven't got it yet though - I'm not a fan of the comics. I've got 5 of them, but meh.

Which issues? I'm interested because the quality varies so much- if I had five of the worst issues I'd probably think they were all shithouse, but if I had five of the best I'd think they were great.

I've got... 1, 2... that crappy Xmen one... and some others. I can't remember, I'm at school.

They are ok I would just rather have, say, one cd than 3 of the comics.

I can see where Alex is coming from - I mean, the comics would never be able to compete with the show. But, when you compare Futurama Comics to Simpsons Comics - you see just how good they really are (despite some crappy issues such as #2 and #8). Personally, I think Futurama Comics are pretty good - I'm happy that the show's still living on in some form after it's cancellation, and I'm even happier to be supporting it.

Anyway, I've got all 9 so far. Issues #4 and #6 are my favourites.

I pretty much agree with Beamer about the comics in general- they're no match for the show itself, but they're definitely better than nothing, and in general they're worth getting.
My opinion on specific issues differs a bit though- for one thing I really liked issue #8- the ending was a bit weak I guess, but the art was great and I enjoyed the plot & dialogue. I have issues 1-16 excluding 15, and my favourites are #13, #6, #16, #8, #5 and #1. Least favourites: #10, #12 and the stupid terminator issue (#7 I think).

Well, if u are from Brizy then there is a place in Adelaide St, (not sure on the name) and The Daily Planet.  There is also another place in the Valley not far from the Brunswick Train Station......or just ask any anime nerd they'll point u in the right direction.....(no offense to any animi nerds who may read this msg.)

Interesting note: On issue 9 in America, from what I've seen on the net, a caption on the front page says: MADE IN THE USA! (printed in canada). In Australia, there is no caption. Pretty stupid, IMO.

Maybe they didn't think dumb Australians would get the Joke... or just another example of stupid patriotism ('gasp, if consumers' see that printed on the cover, they'll never buy it!'). Maybe.

Mentally replacing it with MADE WITH PRIDE IN AUSTRALIA (printed in New Zealand) would provide you with the local equivelent, I believe...

I hate getting a mutilated version of a foreign product. I prefer something that's either actually Australian, or isn't and doesn't pretend to be.

Besides, you'd have to be an idiot not to know that Futurama is made in America, anyway. Hell - that issue even has the Statue of Liberty on the cover! I don't see why they removed it, it's a pretty funny joke and it's not like it's offensive or anything.

Hey guys, im from Perth too  :)

Otto Press is the actual company that distributes Futurama comics in Australia for Bongo. If your having any trouble getting a hold of any issues (past or present) you can subscribe or get back issues from them. By sending a money order, credit card etc.

I love Quality Comics & Empire. We need a Perth Futurama fan club hahaha

Actually, the two crossover comics were released in Australia last year...

For some reason, Issue 1 has been re-released. So, to answer your question, I don't know, but we shouldn't have to wait all that long... I hope.  :(

What I like most about the crossover is that it's basically a Futurama story with the Simpsons characters making guest appearences... that, and it's kinda amusing, of course.  :)

Whoooo! I got #10 today! Finally, something that wasn't a movie parody!

Also, Gizmo - the crossover was released last year, as SJM said. Issue #1 was released in April, and Issue #2 in July. I remember seeing an order form for both crossover issues once, though. If you want, I could scan it & email it to you.   :)
