I picked up #17 today and read on the train coming home from a stressful day in London. It cheered me up, although I had to try and keep a straight face whilst reading it as I got some funny looks from other passengers (a who cares, I'll never see them again). Basically this is a really good issue. The script is sharp, and laugh-out-loud (or snigger quietly because people keep staring) funny! I won't go into too much detail, but it's all good stuff. There's just ONE problem with this issue. And it's a problem that has almost ruined other issues such as #7,#9,#12, and #15. Yes, it's the artwork of John F***ing-how-the-hell-did-I-ever get-a-job-with-Bongo-because-I-can't-draw-the- characters-on-model-and-I-smell Delaney! Hoooooooow I despise him! His drawing really isn't good enought to be used in a comic as intelligent, funny, and inventive as Futurama!
Well, it's not too bad. Atleast not as bad as it sometimes is, but when you compare it to the flawless artwork of James Lloyd in the previous issue 16, it's just.....not good enough! Although there are a few nice panels scattered throughout the comic (Leela looks incredibly cute in the bottom panel of page 19!). But them marvel at the slopiness of the bottom panel of page 13!
Apart from that small problem, this is a really good issue.

I got it yesterday, plenty of them too... For those interested, the cover has Fry, Leela and Bender with a shadow over them, Fry and Leela look scared, and Bender is changing the sign for Earth's population number. The shadow is Lrr's, because his face can be seen reflected in the sign post. Not the greatest cover, but nice idea...

It's by Ian Boothby and John Delaney. I think Verrone is suppose to write the next one.
