Supposedly Season 4's release date is around early to late fall. Hopefully it wont take longer than that.

Yes. Yes they do. Production seasons, of course, not broadcast. If you don't know what I mean by that, don't worry. Buy all DVDs, and you'll get all episodes.

Anyway... That's stupid! You're stupid!

Maybe FOX will release the dvd quicker.  They sped up the release of simpsons season four from the one a year pattern, maybe Futurama will be sped up from the six month pattern.

But those jerks at FOX probably won't.

Yeah well in my opinion, they favored the Simpsons over Futurama. Cause if they hadn't, than the show would still be running.

Well, the way FOX thinks, The Simpsons is a more popular show than Futurama so that kind of makes sense.

Wellll... the Simpsons IS more popular. One of the main reasons the show got pushed back to totally moronic timeslots was because it wasn't pulling the same kind of ratings as The Simpsons (consitantly! I knows abouts the pilot, dagnabit!). Of course, one of the main reasons for that is because apart from the initial burst of publicity at the launch, Fox barely advertised it at all. It's a miracle it lasted as long as it did, really. <sigh> no-one can appreciate a good thing, or be rabid enough to watch eps at all hours of the night....

FOX can't cancel The Simpsons because if they did, nobody would watch FOX.  Also, they're probably trying to make that record higher.  People only know it so much because it's been on so long.  Switch The Simpsons and Futurama.  The Simpsons would be cancelled and locked to DVD forever, while Futurama would still be running.  God, I have way too much time on my hands at 12:38 AM.

So I'm a little confused on the box for season four.  Is the whole outside plastic?  Or is part cardboard and part plastic?

So then it's different than seasons 1-3? Because those had cardboard covers with some plastic parts.  Thats cool though that they changed it for season four.

Eh, I live in the UK and the box set isn't that great. I mean, it's only the final season of Futurama, thus allowing fans to own every single episode on disc, with commentaries, deleted scenes and more. Nothing special.

[sarcasm mode off]

Ha! We got it before you, nahahahah...

Ha! we got better features than you do on season 3! (properly synced commentaries and new audio intros) Okay, so it isn't much, but I'll take what I can get.

Edit: You know, this thread is pretty long, considering we know next to nothing about the new DVD set...

You can sometimes find new factory-sealed copies on ebay for a little less, or deals on amazon.com.  And I just want to say, it's a true shame that some great sci-fi comedy is coming out of the US, but it's the Brits who seem to appreciate it more.  I am ashamed for my fellow Americans.  Where is the pride??!?!   :)
