Fairly good news everyone! BBC's text service has just released the results for the Readers' Top 10 DVDs of the year (Page 548 if you're interested) and Futurama is in at a quite respectable seventh place (Votes for DVDs from the same TV series are added together so this includes seasons 3 and 4). Not bad for a series that was cancelled apparently because there weren't enough viewers, especially since the far more successful Simpsons didn't even make the list. Also, it was nice to see that some of the comments I put in with my vote made it onto the page.

I saw that. Was pleasantly surprised to see Futurama make the top 10.

Total film (I think it's Total Film, but it could be Hotdog) has a feature in the current issue listing the top ten TV DVDs this year. Guess what's at number 1!?

It's Futurama Season 4 BTW, just in case that wasn't clear.

That's great news M Jackson, should make a few people buy the set for someone's Xmas!

Adding to the M Jackson's news, Empire (another UK film magazine) chucked S3 & 4 in their top 100 DVDs of the year.

This is all very awesome, cloolsome news, and it's good to see Futurama at least getting the credit it deserves on DVD  :)

I'm hoping that the DVD sales of Season 3 in the US will break into some charts too, in order to prove to Fox the show they so mercilessly shunned was worth a damn.

It's actually even better than that! I'm pretty sure that list is the Top 100 ever, not just for the year. I buy Empire every month and they have these lists all the time. I know it featured in the top 100 comedy DVDs a few months ago. And I think it is now included in the top reglar 100 list. This list changes quite a bit as better DVDs come along, others are knocked out the list. The list is alphabetical and not ranked.  :)
