Im having problems with some ep's, either they chop/skip or don't play at all.
Anybody else have this problem?
And i heard that the DVD remote comes with some drivers that might make it better, anybody got one?

EP's im having problems with:
Mother's day
Luck of the Fryfish(the end)
The Birdbot of ice-catraz(the beggining)
A Pharaoh to remember
The 30% Iron Chef(rarely though)
Teenage mutant leelas hurdles
The Why of Fry (sometimes)
edit: the WAY of Fry ????
 :nono:
And there's nothing wrong with the discs beacuse they run fine everywhere else...

I got the updated drivers and it all works fine, so far.  They take up a lot of memory on the card, though.

Where do you the updated drivers from?

And my little sister watched a fair amount of S4 on my PS2, she didn't complain about any of the eps.

My PS2 is getting old, too, and I don't often watch DVDs on it, because it's touchy about playing them.  But if it recognizes the disc, I've never had any problems during playback, like skips.  I'll take a look at the specific episodes you had problems with and see.  And the updated drivers are on a disc; you copy them to your memory card, but it takes up like half the card.  So if you know someone who has the remote, you can just borrow the disc.

Also, the Philips 727 DVD player will play anything you throw at it, and it's insanely cheap.  2 of my friends have them, but I haven't bought one yet, because I hear it has longevity problems.

Yeah I got a cheap DVD player made by some company named "Apex". It will play every thing; DVD, VCD, SVCD, DVD-R/RW (won't burn them though of course, just play them). In fact if you just put an VCD format mpeg on a CD without burning it off as a proper VCD, a file menu will come up and you can just select the file. Plus it's played every DVD I've thrown at it so far, and I only payed $80 Canadian for it about 1 1/2 years ago.

I have S1 on dvd and my PS2 skips during My Three Suns and A Big Piece of Garbage. This has happened with other dvd's I've had as well ( Scream 2, Bridget Jones' and Scream 3 won't play at all).

The S2 episode you mentioned works fine for me. When I got it at target, there was a big smudge on it, so I  wiped it off and watched the entire disc to make sure it didn't skip and it worked fine. The only time my playstation 2 skipped was when I was watching "The Matrix Reloaded"(during the freeway chase, I was so mad!).

My PS2 used to skip DVD's or not read them at all, I am probably incorrect but your PS2 may be expiriencing Laser troubles, try playing games etc, if the same happens then get in touch with Sony.

I always heard consoles were picky with DVDs, it may just be the fact you're trying to use the PS2 as a DVD player causing the problems.

I've played S1 one my PS2 and I didn't have any problems. Mabey your PS2s are messed up, or there could be a problem with your disks that your not aware of.

Good to hear! We are getting a proper DVD player too soon, once we've sold our other house (soon).

My season 1 had no problems on my PS2, but seasons 2 and 3 have had problems. I use my laptop now though to watch dvds, so it doesn't bother me. I've had a lot of problems playing other dvds on my PS2.
