*bump*

I was just thinking today, I really wish they'd made an Amy MAC figure.

Zoidberg, too, I guess..

I would really like to have a Coney Island Whitefish T-shirt if there is such a thing.

Is there?

So, yeah, a Coney Island T-Shirt would be acceptable.

How about a special edition computer that looks futuristic? Mac, please.

Any poster.

Season 4 DVDs.

The back issues of the comics.

Speaking of which, does anyone know where I could get the back issues? I can't find any place online, and I don't know of a comic place near me.

How come Futurama characters are advertising commercials like the Simpsons characters?

I can picture certain Futurama characters doing certain commercials.

-Season four dvd

-A pinball machine.  I desperately want to see a pinball machine.

-A Futurama GCN port, and more specifically a better second game.

-I have (and have read most of) a book called "Twilight Zone Companion".  It details all sorts of behind the scenes stories (the author did interviews with people that worked on the show), and for each episode includes airdates, synopsises, reviews, and in most cases whatever trivia tidbits the author could think of.  Something like that would work great for Futurama....and for that matter The Simpsons as well (I don't personally care for the guidebooks, which aren't nearly as comprehensive and spend half of the printing of each page just quoting lines I can already hear just watching the show).

-A t-shirt.  Seriously, just about any t-shirt would do.  I specifically want a "Kill all humans" Bender shirt.  But if they make any shirt at all, I'll end up buying it I'm sure because I just really want one.

I saw an ad for Adult Swim in a copy of Maxim that had Bender and Angelyne on it and it said "Characters you can relate to". It was basically an ad for Futurama being in that lineup but hey, it was pretty cool.

Ads for the show itself are fine...but please no "endorsements" of products that have nothing to do with the show.  I already cringe watching Simpsons commercials for Butterfinger, Burger King, etc....no need to repeat the mistake with Futurama.  If Bender ever declares his love for Arby's I think I'll scream.

All I'm saying is that I saw a commercial were George Jetson was selling some dish washing fluid.

Billy West provided the voice of George Jetson and it got me thinking that he could do the voice of Fry for some other commercial.

West has done the voice for the Red M&M and the Honey Nut Cheerios Bee.  So, it would be cool if he did Fry in some commmercial.  Like, Futurama Cereal or advertising for a faster computer or a soft drink.  7-up or Mountain Dew.

I know what you were saying.  I just frankly hate the idea.  It honestly hurts sometimes watching Homer plug Burger King...seeing Fry or Bender plug something would be just as painful for me.

Unless they made it funny.  I remember a commercial where Homer was at Moe's it was a phone commerical or something and Homer just said to the announcer, "shut up" and walked away.

Well, most aren't funny.

And more importantly....I just don't like seeing these characters being used in advertising (neither does Groening, I would think).  Merchandise from the show is one thing, but I just don't like seeing them "sell out" and promote something that has nothing to do with the show, regardless of if its funny.

So, if they posted a huge billbroad with Leela or Amy advertisting for something like Victoria Secret, would that be so wrong? i look at it as a form of letting more people know about Futurama.

Also, if Matt doesn't like advertising, why did he allow the Simpsons to do all those commercials?  He has no power or that?

He doesn't have the power.  That's the thing.  Fox owns the characters, and they decide to put them in Butterfinger, Burger King, etc ads, not Matt Groening.

And yes, I'd hate Victoria secret ads with Leela and Amy.  Just as I hated Marge Simpson posing in Maxim.  It just makes the show look bad.  Better to just advertise the show itself (which Fox showed no interest in doing, and thankfully Adult Swim has) as opposed to making it look like trash with endorsements.

Heh, well I have to admit I like seeing the older ads.  They're interesting to see historically, and their cheesiness makes them funny if in a more unintentional way.  But you have to give those ads about ten years of sitting on a shelf somewhere before they're interesting really.

this isn't realy merchandise...
But can anyone think of a welcoming, greeting kind of saying that a character said in Futurama (preferably Fry, Zoidberg, or Bender), and make it a wav file for AIM, or AOL, or anyother type of messaging program.

I already have a "goodbye" one of Leela saying "So Long Jerkwads!" (from 'I Second That Emotion')
