you're saying that the game isn't coming out in the US for any platform? or you just mean for gamecube.. that can't be right.

This game is shaping up to be one hell of game!

I've read several magazines, two from the benelux which have given futurama the game a very decent score!

82 and a 75!
  ;)

They also said that this is the funniest videgame by far and leaving competition far behind.

There is a review of the Futurama game in the new issue of Empire (the magazine that gave the Season 3 DVD a 5***** review last month). The game got 3***. Here's the review...
"Although The Simpsons has inspired a slew of console spin-offs, no game has ever done justice to Matt Greoning's characters or twisted sense of humour. Thankfully, Futurama goes some way to redressing the balance. Blending platform, exploration, shooting and racing sequences, Futurama offers a dynamic range of challenges that keeps players on thier toes. Even better, the game captures the visual style and offbeat humour of its source material, with cut scenes that look just like the TV series, characters voiced by the original actors, and in jokes at every turn."

^ Empire was also the magazine that gave the N64 Goldeneye game a mere two stars on the grounds that James Bond could die in it! Er...

Daily Mirror a UK newspaper Today

FUTURAMA

Playtstation,Xbox,Gamecube,

Out July 11 £39.99

*****
The underrated but increasingly popular TV cartoon turns out to be perfect videogram material.
As you would expect , It is pretty mainstream, mixing action-adventure and platform gameplay, but Futurama lets you play as all of the main characters (includingthe incorrigible Bender)and accurately reproduces the T.V.dark and often surprisingly fruity sense of humour.
In general, you must run around shooting monsters, jumping on the back of the crocodiles and solving simple puzzles. As you progress through the game, difficulty levels ramp up smoothly, and for once, the storyline is a joy rather than a joke.

Essential if you are a fan of the show.

For once, I support the Daily Mirror in their stance. But the tabloids always print shit, so does that mean the game is actually crap?

Release date July 11th? That's odd - Amazon and SCI both give 1st August dates...

Most gaming mags list it as July 4th! Most online shops list it as August 1st, and now The Daily Mirror comes along with this out of the blue!? I'm actually starting to think it's gonna be in the next couple of weeks (ie July 4th or 11th) as an increasing number of papers and mags (not just hardcore gaming ones) are reviewing it.

Yeah, I'm thinking I should pre-order it just now, so that it arrives when it arrives.

Oh well in that case it *must* be true. Bear in mind that the original date we were given was 1st June, so it may still slip more.

ok, i'm back from my trip to NZ and the first thing i did was put in that demo disk i got with the australian xbox magazine at the airport and i have to say YOU GUYS GOTTA GET THIS GAME WHEN IT COMES OUT!!!!!! IT'S SOOO COOL, FUNNY, FUNNY STUFF, THE THINGS FRY SAYS AS HE DOES STUFF. Even his lips move when he talks as you move him around, the lock on targeting is well designed and the graphics with the xbox are very smooth, clear and capture the visual style of the show. The cel chading is the best i've seen, its not over done. Plus all of this is moving around the screen at a fantastic frame rate, most likely 60fps.    :)

Cool!
I think it's good that all the reviews i've read have commented on how good the graphics are. But i think that they released the first trailer and screenshots too early, as the graphics in those are shoddy, verging on awful. I just think that this may have created a bad initial impression for the game. But i'm glad it appears everything's turned out so well.
