Sounds awesome, I wish they gave away demos on Gamecube mags. I guess I'll just have to wait, but it's less than a month away now  :D

I demand more information... is there a cover story for futurama? an article? is there any pictures surrounding the game on the demo disk?  how long does the demo last? does it have cool loading screens or anything?

got scans?

all this will go towards a cgef update so much information is needed   :p

The level is actually Old New York. It's an alright level, some good quotes. Can't really remember much of it from so long ago.

I also have said demo. Fry's van from "Bendin' in the Wind" is in the level, complete with skeleton hanging out of the window wearing a bandana. There is also a "Monkey Fracas Jr." arcade machine in the bar.

Actually, it would seem its coming out for GC NEVER.  Well, at least not in North America.  It seems it might still be on track for Europe and Australia.  I guess a late release is possible if the other version sell well, but don't bank on it.

Anyways, good news that its at least fun, from the demo (I haven't played, just from what has been said from those who have here).  Any other details you can give us, like about the layout of the level (what "bar" is in the game, anyway?)?  Any specific quotes you can tell us, or specific locations/easter eggs in the level?  And do they ever put those dics from the magazine in the kiosks at stores, or are those demo discs generally seperate?  Seems like if its the same disc the rest of us could still get in on some Futurama action via visiting retailers.

There has been no official word that it has been canned for gamecube anywhere.

If u go to www.sci.co.uk  and then go to the futurama section, then the gamecube section it says comming 2003 where as PS2 and XBOX say july 4th, which suggests that GameCube will be out later especially as the Trailer on the DVD set says on PS2, XBOX and GameCube.

All promotional material as said GameCube except the press release.

prehaps someone should contact SCI about its status on GC?

Just to clear things up: Futurama is coming out on the Gamecube in Europe, but not in America.

There is a PS2 demo - well, there was one at the playtesting meeting.

You need something called a freeloader I think, and then you need to import the game.  Whether you want to do that or not might depend on whether this game is worth the import shipping, price of the game and freeloader (the freeloader is 20 bucks from what I've seen)  Plus, the gist I've gotten from a little research is that you might need a special adapter or something, depending on your tv, as their tvs are different over there.  But a freeloader itself is essentially, from what I know, a disc you put in your system that lets you calibrate from a menu which region you want your system to play, and you can then put in your game (while the system is still on) and play it.

Someone want to help me out here with explanations, and some more info?  See, I might like to import the game myself...

Oh, and its been confirmed to IGN (they had a reply about it in one of their mailbag sections) that the game is canned for the cube, in the US anyway.  Sci's site is UK based, as is the company, so the cube one still being listed is probably indicitive of that.

I dont believe the gamecube version been officially cancelled in the US either, all articles indictate that it has been delayed EVERYWHERE!

IGN would be going off the Fox interactive Press release, assuming that it was canned because it was not featured. But if it were delayed they would do a second press release when it was closer to release.

Grim: That was the guy at UDS, not SCi. The gal at Vivendi told me that they won't be selling a GC version in the USA though. If they stay with that, I don't know, but this was from about the highest source in Vivendi.
SCi is pretty secretive about the GC version. Maybe they ran into problems.

EGM better not let Seanbaby review it in the "rest of the crap" section. Futurama deserves the respect! And I don't want to buy another console for it. What's wrong with Gamecube?

From everything I've read, even if the Futurama game isn't great to play (although it's apparently good fun, but straightforward) one thing that you can be 100% sure of is that it will be funny, very very very funny infact. several magazine have already called it the funiest game in history!

Does anyone know if the demo will be included with the US editon of OXM?  Honestly, I haven't seen any US gaming mags even mention the game, let alone preview it.  Nor have I seen any TV ads.  Once again, Fox doing a stellar job of promoting Futurama.

edit - Hurray!  I'm a Crustacean!  I'm having a wonderful time!

Actually, Futurama The Game has very little promotion wise to do with Fox. It's being published by Vivendi Universal (not Fox), and so any lack of promotion is down to the publishers part.

Here in the UK it's hard not to be aware of the Futurama game. It's been featured in almost every game magazine in recent months. And I haven't even been buying them, I just read the Futurama part then put it back on the shelf.

there are ads for it on sky one before futurama, but no in-game stuff. bah.

the GC version is out in august (as far as i know) and i think the PS2 and xbox version are out this weekend (or a week or two after), and you get to play as zoidy in a crash bandacoot style level (YEY!)

im surprised that its not coming out in the us, but im alright since i live in the uk, with my PAL gamecube. (i still had to import animal crossing though).

apparently its not as cack as the simpsons games (and the professors life-generation toaster cloner sounds cool)

august...coming soon....
