At the risk of going off topic my feelings of the latest episodes are that they feel tired and even the better ones recycle themes that have been done before

At the risk of going off topic my feelings of the latest episodes are that they feel tired and even the better ones recycle themes that have been done before You clearly like Futurama a lot judging by your collection, unless you're just bored and insanely rich. Sure some of the new eps are terrible (I'm looking at you Holiday Craptacular and Yo Leela Leela), but then other eps like TLPJF, Möbius Dick and Reincarnation are right up there with the original run. They fit in nicely and are in fact even better than certain eps from the original run... I realise opinions can differ, but for such an apparently big fan as evidenced by your vast collection, surely you can at least see some positives in the new eps and enjoy them a bit? You'd be doing yourself a disservice to write them all off as bad...

OKAY I have been working on this for a few days, clearing shelves out of what used to be on there (beanies) and behold! I finally got to make my Futurama shrine (with a few Star Trek items thrown in). I was lucky enough to pull the Robot Devil KidRobot from a $9 blind box at Urban Outfitters. And I got Slurms for $10 from a toy store in a nearby mall - they had all the figures out of the boxes already that you could buy, luckily they didn't know how much he was worth! That TV Guide cover is pretty messed up. When I find my laminating sheets I am going to laminate it, but if I come across that again in mint condition I will surely get it. It's more sentimental to me because I remember going out and actually buying that TV Guide because I was excited about a new Groening futuristic show that was premiering. I actually just got that Robot Devil Clicker this last week - $10 + $5 shipping, really good deal, I was kinda sad to open it. Seller took two weeks to mail it though with little to no response to emails - I had to open a buyer protection case against them so I will not be ordering any more from them. The Nibbler I opened years ago when I received it as a birthday gift from a church friend. I took your advice Otis, and HGB is not in direct sunlight (even though it looks like it by the bright flash). The cabinet as a whole faces AGAINST the Sun, so nothing should/will get faded. I tried to set the figures in a manner relating to their personality. Can you spot the inaccuracy? Hehe. I just like this one because of Calculon in the background, hehehe. And just for the shippers: Somehow Zoidberg always gets involved What I would like are the rest of the metal figure packs that came with clicky tins, (at least Amy & Kif, and Hermes) and the Leela Moore figure. I recently acquired Bender and Fry, but they are still in the packaging. I keep the packaging for all these figures on the top shelf of my closet. I have more than this, like cards, coasters, etc. but didn't have room on the shelf for it. I also have the Slurm soda can like hopie has, I boxed all mine away ( I had some Romulan Ale too) - when I find them, they as well are going on these shelves. When I clean up the next lowest shelf I will photograph too - right now it has every American issue of Futurama comics, Futurama paperbacks, and Futurama/Simpsons crossovers.

That is an amazingly cloolsome collection, Randi! Very nice pics, I kept staring at them for ages. All sorts of figures from different lines all together in perfect harmony. Some nice rather rare figures in there too. Glad that the H.G Blob is being kept out of direct sunlight. Also, you have the Zapp Brannigan Space Gun! I forgot all about that existing! I would think it's quite rare. One other thing, what happened to Mom's head?...

I don't think the space gun is rare, I paid close to $25 on it and I just checked the bay, it is the same price. Re:Mom If you look at the right of the 6th picture down, you'll see Roberto out of focus, and he has got his arms around skinny Mom (left) and Nudar (right). So I opened up the figure, took her out of the fatsuit and left the fatsuit there next to her heh. My camera is always on auto focus (haven't gotten around to reading the manual after 4 years...) so it always focused on what was in the foreground, hence why things in the back row got kinda lost/blurry. Also you can't tell but on the top shelf behind the Futurama bobbleheads on the right, I have a Gorn bobblehead as well Glad you appreciate the pics guys I can tell you are like me Otis, had to painstakingly be set up to my pleasing before I took photos...hence why it took a few days to set up while I found more merch. btw since I made that post, I did order the TV Guide and the Leela Moore figure, woo!

Nice collection futurefreak, it's very "out of the box" (and it reminded me I had failed to include my Zapp Brannigun picture At the risk of going off topic my feelings of the latest episodes are that they feel tired and even the better ones recycle themes that have been done before You clearly like Futurama a lot judging by your collection, unless you're just bored and insanely rich. I am not saying there are no positives in the new series, the last episode was the only one that I really enjoyed though, post devil's hands futurama has a very red dwarf series seven/next gen star trek movies feel about it though. It looks like the show I love but it just doesnt feel right, I still have hope (I went to the new red dwarf studio record last month and was at the movie theatre to see star trek 11) but it needs to move forward to come back to being the great show it once was
Correct.
You complain this is a crappy futurama community, your'e right, and the lack of dissenting views about the show and tolerance for them is my main reason for saying that, top contribution Part 6 - Wall Furniture I have to cheat because I am currently not owning any walls My next question is do I keep going, there are some gaps in my collection and I do want a Plushie Robot Devil and a Destructor, over to you Toynami et al.

I think I have that second to last poster around here somewhere - at the time there was no where to hang it in my room - you just reminded me I need to find it... Hehe, Zapp Brannigun. I like the 3rd from bottom one, the one that appears all over the Toynami packaging. Was it particularly rare/exclusive? All your stuff is nice. You were right...photos are fun I'm one of those people who likes going to antique malls and such, not because I buy anything but I love looking at other's collections...

Good old eBay, it's always helpful in getting those rare hard to get find items. I've bought a fair bit of Futurama merch off eBay too. Back in the old early days, as in the early 00's I bought most of my Futurama merch from Forbidden Planet. That's where I got the tin signs from and my wind up URL...

Considering they are all out of the box...it would seriously diminish its value as you know (I keep all the packaging though in my closet). But every Toynami figure on the second shelf (not including build a bot Roberto, Robot Santa, and Robot Devil) set me back $15, with the exception of Zoidberg who acquired less than a year ago - he was $125. The KidRobots all cost me $9, with exception of Slurms, he was $10. I was lucky enough to get the Angry Bender Tineez from a coworker when I gave her the money for it ($10) when she went to Comic Con (as well as Robot Devil plushie for $35 I believe). I think for most of the collection I paid its original retail value or less, with the exception of Zoidberg. But I needed him to complete my headless Robot Devil

I like the way you think, very creative. I hope you find an awesome car to put Bender's head in!
I had a toy rubber blue car that had a spot for some muppet's top half driving and it was blue, if I find that car I know that would be perfect for it (if I still have it) if I do something so bold as that...
It's your collection dude, you can do what you want. Get "krazy" with the glue if you want to. Many "serious" collectors won't open them out of the package but I just can't have that!

Hi, my name is Vivek. Registered here on PEEL few years ago, but never posted and was just a lurker. Been a huge Futurama fan since it started airing here in India during 1999. But the only merchandise I currently own are the four seasons on DVD, Leela figure from Moore and the Futurama pilot episode poster. I bought that poster last year but been wanting it for years. Wish there were more new Futurama posters. I wish I had started buying the Toynami figures when they were first being released in 2007. But one of the things that really bugged me that time was the wrong hair for Leela, I was hoping they would fix it and release a revised edition. But they never did. That's when I decided to start tracking the Moore figures, which I soon realized were quite pricey. So I ended up buying only the Leela Moore figure especially cause it had the right purple color hair. The Toynami Leela figure has a more pink hue to it, thankfully looks like they fixed it for the Clobberella figure. I am planning to try and start my Futurama Toynami collection of figures later this year. For some of the figures I just have to settle down for the Encore version, as I'm not looking to spend huge amount on this. So no build-a-bot Robot Devil for me. One thing I have realized is that I have to be choosey about my collection. I don't think I can be a completionist. Sure I would love to have all the Metal figures, I-men, Tineez, Kid Robots (especially cause of their range of characters), but I decided to curb my desire and just stick to Toynami 6" figures. But I feel once I get all the needed 6" figures, I might end up collecting those Kid Robots as well. Also since I never intend to sell any of the 6" figures, I will be taking them out of their packages mainly to display them. I will be opening the Leela Moore figure once I get the other Toynami figures. And futurefreak, in the last couple of weeks looking at your awesome collection of displayed figures is what reignited my interest to acquire the Futurama figures. So yeah it's all your fault I am hooked now, I mean thank you .

Welcome Vivek, to your first post in 4 years! I'm either really glad or really sorry to have reignited your passion for the figures lol, depending on how you wanna look at it (with regards to money, anyhow...). You are best to start off slow and get them when there are excellent deals abound I would say. If you need to know what a "fair price" is on the current "value" of a figure let us know, I'm sure there are many of us here (myself included on some of them) who can help Those are really cool Dano! I have seen that second picture with the green background several times on the internet, but didn't know what it was used from (there was no lettering or anything on it). Very neat!

Futurefreak, thanks for the welcome and for offering to help out with hunt & price decision, appreciate it . I think I will start off with the discount deals at BBTS and then will wait for the Encore Fry & Farnsworth set in September. And then will move on to eBay unless some good deals appear there early on. And Dano, those are great covers. But I only remember the one with Bender holding the Matt head, didn't realize there were three more. Quite a rare set you have there.
