So 35.19/117.5 = X = £29.95 (or close enough).

What happened with the S3 set was that the price dropped about a month, month and a half before sale time (and pre-order prices dropped accordingly). So I wouldn't rule Amazon out just yet.

Yes, I live in Kansas (USA) and I have been region free for about a year  :)

Hopefully amazon will make a mistake like the (was it the?) S3 box that was priced at £18.   ;)

I think that might have been the S2 set.

I'm still waiting for another "." mistake where £3000 plasma TVs get marked as £30.00  :evillaugh:  ;)

Play.com has it for £29.99 with free shipping, apparently to anywhere in Europe.  They don't deliver anywhere else, though.

They reduced the price to 30% off at amazon.co.uk, so I can now give you the PEEL/CGEF/edel-underwear link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000C24NV/cantgetenough-21

I pre-ordered Season 3 on DVD from play.com and didn't get it until the day after release, I'll be getting Season 4 from Amazon for that reason.

I've been checking Amazon.co.uk's price for S4 for a few days now.  This morning, I saw it listed at £27.99.  An extremely precise chronometer would be needed to measure the amount of time it took for me to click 'Pre-order this item today!'.

As of typing, it's now up to 5th on Amazon.co.uk's pre-order chart

(edit - a few hours later)

It went down to 7th soon afterwards, but I've just checked and it's now 4th on the main DVD chart.  And 2nd, even, on the pre-release chart - ahead of "The Office - Series 2"!

Kazzahdrane, I got mine from play too and it came on the Monday, even though I'd only ordered it on the Friday.

None the less it's about time I ordered something through CGEF so I'll probably pre-order it in a couple of weeks or so, just to see what happens to the price.

*grrrr* It's so unfair you can't order stuff at amazon.co.uk from Germany, unless you have a credit card. That cheque thing works only for cheques from british banks, right? Damn! It's the same thing with amazon.fr, which was about the only site that had that movie I'd been looking for for a long time. Play.com requires a credit card as well!  :(

I posted this in another thread and it's proboably been mentioned here to:

Copy & paste this url: http://hem.passagen.se/xmpel/releasedate.gif

That's the Swedish release-date so I bet it goes for all of Scandinavia. If not, correct me.

Apparently it's not likely until after all of Season Four is localised and airs in Germany.

This is just a logical conclusion (backed up by the delay in Season Three), and I don't think anyone knows for certain.

If they reduce the price on Amazon after you pre-order, don't you get the new reduced price, and if it increases it will stay at the reduced price?

I think it depends on the size of the change. For small increases, I think Amazon cover the costs. But if there's a larger increase, say, £10, then they e-mail you to ask whether you want to continue the order at the increased price.

And if the price goes down, they usually readjust, although it takes a while for them to do it.  ;)

I believe (although I may be wrong) that when you order something with a card, Amazon can only legally charge you for the amount you agreed to (when you confirmed the order). So they can't increase the charge to your card without contacting you. That's why I re-order if the price drops significantly (to prevent Amazon from returning to the original price and charging me that).

Well, I pre-ordered mine now from Amazon, it's competative (ie. cheaper than) with the other sites (Blackstar, Play, etc), and this helps Marc out, as I did it through CGEF.

Also, with Amazon you should get it on release date, and I got Season 3 one day late from Play.com which is why I'll be going with Amazon this time.

Does anyone have any confirmation on if this season release will be encoded for both regions 2 and 4 like previous ones?

This would be great if it was since it tends to be about $A10 cheaper and about 4 months sooner.

No confirmation that i know of, but i don't see why they'd change the way they're regioning their DVDs. Amazon has it listed as S2, but they have that for all the Futurama boxsets.

And if there was a whole extras DVD we'd know about it (I think) from Futufan by know.

All the DVDs have so far been R2/4, so they work in Australia too. Amazon.co.uk only lists them as R2, probably because they are UK products.

And PAL is the encoding used by Europe, Oz, and South Africa if I remember rightly.

i dont think it's so much that they're R2/4 but that they'r PAL.

i think if you look at the box it says R2 (i dont have it anywhere near me)...it's pretty much the same as PS2 games.

Nope.  The region encoded on the disc must match your player's region or it won't even try to play the disc.

BTW, my preorder through amazon.uk came to just under GBP27.00, including air mail delivery to Mark Twain country.  If their record of outstanding service holds, I sure won't be watching some idiotic football game this Thanksgiving Day.  (How wonderfully ironic:  football prempted for Futurama, even if it's just on my TV!)
