Amazon.com is now taking pre-orders for the next US release of Futurama.  September 2, 2003.

 :D  :D  :D  :D

I can't wait, cause I love season 2.

Lets try to keep all season 2 r1 comments / questions / whatever in this thread.

I guess it's to early to know if the packaging like Season 1 will be different (read: better) than the R2 release.

this is a little premature isnt it?
If anyone has any questions cant they just read about the R2 release?

Beside it'll probably degenerate into people who live in Europe / people who imported, laughing and showing off their DVD superiority

Ha ha ha, I imported! Just kidding, but that's a really quick release for the R1 S2 set, considering how long and how many delays the European release had to go through. 6 months is pretty ambitious, and I'm curious to see if that date ends up being "the one."

I'm sure it's a real date since all of the major work has been done - digital transfers, sound mix, extras and menus built.  All they have to do is make it NTSC compliant and design the packaging.

Also - FOX Home Video would want to release it while the series is still fresh in people's minds, and the final 8 will run this summer.

Since R2 Series 3 is due out in Europe in a couple of months, we will probably see Series 3 in the U.S. next Spring.

The big question mark is Series 4.  One would assume that R2 would be released early next year, around the same time we see (I continue to assume) the Series 3 in R1, then (fingers crossed) R1 would get the same next fall.
