Yes, David X. and John Dimaggio are the man.

I think my favorite commentary dialogue so far, is when Groening was talking about the Temple of Robotology, and how he got a call from someone saying it's too similar to the Church of Scientology. Groening says "you know what, make your own show" and then someone else interrupts "or make a movie, that'll be really great". So funny.

Hah, classic.

from the commentary to "A Head In The Polls":

J.Stewart Burns: "I have a recollection of the network hating this [the episode], and refusing to believe it would be any good when the script came in."
David X Cohen: "No, you're thinking of every episode."
lots of laughter, spearheaded by DiMaggio

Could also have been Brett Holland making the first line. He and Stewart Burns sound alike.

David X is the best because he is the most talkative. I wish Billy West was in more commentaries.

Billy West is hilarious but, sadly, I only have season 1-
There's a connection to "Xmas Story" in the commentary 1ACV08- A Big Piece Of Garbage-
"The same thing happens in the second season's christmas epsisode-" It might not be the REAL quote.
I was rolling when somebody said in SP3K-
"Me and Billy West do dueling professors- The Professor Sings David Bowie-
'GROUND PATROL TO MAJOR TOM!'"
Also, might not be the right quote.

"The Professor sounds like THIS! He's all rickety and he has a race of SUPERHUMANS!" Billy West in the I, Roomate Commentary

I've come to the conclusion that the commentary to "The Deep South" is the funniest of them all. Not so informative about the show as others, but boy are those wildflying remarks hillarious.  :laff:

After another John DiMaggio laugh riot.
Groening: "Imagine if there was a laugh track, and John DiMaggio is in the audience."
lots of laughter
Billy West: (mimicking an usher) "Sir, could you please leave this taping."

Then later:

Another JD laugh
Cohen: "Didn't we ask you to leave the audience?"
Rich Moore: (mimicking an old lady) "That man's back!"

Not to mention Cohen's wild nerd-ride (in the good sense). His constant talking about scientific accurate stuff, and how he knew all those things because his father is a marine biologists.  :laff:

It's the big advantage of the Season 2 Box.
More Billy West.

During the title, when everybody introduces himself.
Billy West: Billy West, executive producer.

That doesn't sound funny, but I really laughed. He always comes up with a less serious line during the introduction.

Billy West: Hello, I'm Billy West and I play a guy who is going to make to love to a woman of his age.

That one is from "Mother's Day", so he wasn't talking about Fry...

alot of people seem to like John DiMaggio, but doesnt he sometimes come off as a bit annoying?
i can remember a few instances where a writer or someone (you know, the ones that dont say much) would start to say something and john would quickly but in: "OH!OH! watch this everybody, this is where bender burps for the 5th time this episode!!!" and then he goes on to tell everyone HOW to do a bender burp(for the 5th time).
DXC is by far the funniest and most informative of the lot!

note: ive only heard the Season 1 commentary

Yeah I always find myself eager to find out what the person was about to say before they were interrupted!

I listened to the commentary for A Big Piece Of Garbage earlier and I now I finally get the reference to Less Than Hero that I've never got for the last 16 months!

I watched the commentary for 'Brannigan Begin Again' last night and found my self laughing every time Lew Morton made a comment. How can we forget the man who gave us neutral humour?

Someone (Rich Moore I think): Did you know that doop spelt upside is doop?
David x. Cohen: What's that called, an amalnagram or something?
Lew Morton: I know what I call it... awesome!!

I like John DiMaggio best, especially when he tells where he comes up with vocies (i.e., the voice for the Transgender Bot in "Fry and the Slurm factory," and the repo Bot in "A Fishfull of Dollars" ).

DiMaggio strikes me as the kind of person that would make whatever you're watching funnier just because of his laughing.

JD is my fav too. Might be the Bender laugh that gets me everytime. Cohen is great also. Have you noticed how he sounds a lot younger than he looks? Oh, and if he's reading this, no offense.

John DiMaggio: Holy!  Amy is STACKED!  That's out of control!
---------------
David Cohen:  One of the slip-ups in the show is that Fry has a LoBrau beer in the 20th century and then it shows up in the 30th century
Matt(?): Thats not a slip-up, that was on purpose
David: (*no* hesitation) One of the great stories is the amazing LoBrau beer which survived over a thousand years.

At one point they mentioned a 120-post thread about "Luck Of The Fryrish". Whether  it was a PEEL or a.t.f. thread was a bit unclear.

In the "That's Lobstertainment" commentary the mention CGEF (called gotfuturama.com) and their episode review section. The people in the commentary couldn't understand the low 58% rating the episode received.

Yeah, I heard that today.  Was pretty cool.  That's Lobstertainment was one of three episodes I previously not seen, and I didn;t think it was that bad either.  Not the best, but not bad.

I still gotta go with LaMarche as William Shatner:

"Please..... don't..... tell me how to do this....... it sickens me."

Hi!
I own S1 and S2 DVDs (and now I'm waiting for S3), but I can't enjoy the commentaries, because they are not subtitled (I'm not englishman). There are transcript or something to help me? I read well but I don't recognize all what I hear.

Thanks!

I noticed a couple of the S3 episodes had subtitles for the audio commentary.  I would expect all of the episodes would have the commentary, but I haven't really checked.  To get to them, you have to select it via the dvd subtitle menu on the player (using a remote or whatever), since there isn't a selection under the menu on the dvd when it is playing.  Hope it makes sense.  The s1 and s2 dvd sets might be the same way, I have no idea.  Good luck.

The season 2 and 3 DVD's have english subtitles to all the audio commentaries. Depending on the way you're watching it, it's subtitle track English2. It's kinda hidden, as you can't select it through the usual menues, but have to go through the subtitle selection on your DVD player.

No subtitles to the season 1 DVD's, and so far no transcripts anywhere (that I know of).

Rich Moore all the way!
HE's funny and tells you a lot about the show.
Also Susie Dietter, But Matt Groening sucks. All he ever does is bad mouth the other people and hit people with rulers (The Deep South).
