Are we going to see some more of those figures. Like the one of Fr Leela Bender? I'll send a picture so you know waht I'm talking about. But will we see Interactive Futurama Figures like the Simpsons?

The short answer would be no but the long term answer is probably yes. As you probably can tell the amount of stuff coming out based on the show is dwindling down. This year has seen the release of the Brain Slug squishy toy and later on (hopefully) will see the RocketUSA Zapp Brannigan Ray Gun. Beyond that there is nothing else scheduled to be released.

With the cancellation of the show many merchandisers are balking at releasing more stuff based on a show that has no television backing. Traditionally the merchandise has not sold all that great so there is another strike against investing more time and money into it.

Does that mean there will be no more ever? Probably not. As Futurama continues to run in syndication wether it be on CN or your local station and the release of the DVD's the show will continue to garner fan support. More fan support means the high probability that more merchandise will be released. I look for it to be pretty bare in the next year or so with only the occasional item being released but then I would look to see an influx of new stuff as interest in the show begins to peak again.

As far as doing intelletronic type figures I for one wouldn't like to see it. There are alot of people who see the success of WOS from Playmates and think that the success there would translate into success for Futurama as well and I disagree. The voice feature is pretty cool on those figures but I don't think it is a very big selling point for them. It is a pretty cool added bonus but if they took away the feature and lowered the price by a dollar the line would still sell. If they were going to do something like that for Futurama I wouldn't mind seeing a pull toy similar to the Bender figure as shown in Fear of A Bot Planet. But even in this instance it would be more of a one shot idea rather than a whole line.
I look forward to the day that somebody else decides to pick up the line and give us the secondary figures that we are looking forward to someday having. Namely Zoidberg, Amy, Hermes, Mom, Zapp, Kif and so many others. In the meantime support what is currently out there and buy them now.  :)

I'd love to see WOS type figures for Futurama.  I could care less about voices or playsets though.  I'd just like to see the figures.  I think the chances of this happening are very slim.

Do you mean response on anymore figures? (I'm a freelance spelling nazi. So sue me)

I always thought Futurama was releasing more sophisticated merchandise than the Simpsons. While the Simpsons has its bubble bath Futurama has its...squidgy brain slugs.

Futurama always seemed to have stuff that spoofed old fashioned sci-fi toys like the upcomning ray gun. Maybe they should have collectors plates and stuff.

I really hoped that there would be a third set of Rocet USA die-cast figures. The first 2 sets ruled, but they just aren't complete without Zap or Kif  :hmpf:

I suppose you mean squishy?  :laff:
Yea, Futurama has definitely taken the high road in regards to merchandise based off of the show. I seem to remember Groening mentioning that you wouldn't see Futurama shampoo and the like, although we did get a trash can, playing cards and tin coasters to maybe they have loosened up a bit on that aspect.

The field is still wide open when it comes to what can be done. Just based off of the squishy toys there are other avenues to persue and ideas within the show to develop. I wouldn't mind seeing some mini-statues made similar to those being made by Hamilton (?) featuring the many faces of Homer. I think it would be great to have statues made of Bender and Zoidberg commemorating their epic battle from AoI I. Nibbler with space ship and Fry just emerging from his cryo-tube as well as his first look out at New New York would all be great I think. Or how about Dwight and Cubert in their make shift interstellar paper route vehicle. There are endless great ideas just waiting to be done.

And even though it is not a toy tops on my list is still Futurama trading cards!!! I would love to see at least one set produced at some time. The die-casts would be great as well. They seem relatively easy and it would be nice have as many characters done in this scale as we can get. Mom and her three sons, Zapp, Kif, Cubert and Dwight are all must haves I think.

It may take some time but I think anyone one of these ideas could be made a reality and be popular.

I have to make one comment:

Why can't anyone understand how and when to use the apostrophe (')?

FARNSWORTH: Eh... What? Nothing but completely idiotic gibberish! Not even DumbZilla could understand it. However, we could run it through this machine I invented to translate it into an even stupider language!

FRY: I thought that was the Smell-O-Scope.

FARNSWORTH: It can do other things. Why shouldn't it?!

FRY: (Shrugs)

FARNSWORTH: Oh, my! Its been translated into the most moronic language the universe has ever known!

FRY: French?

FARNSWORTH: Worse! ...FOXise!

FRY: Hey, this is that script for the Simpsons episode where Marge gets a boob job!

FARNSWORTH: (Shudders)

For a freelance spelling nazi, you should dethrone yourself.  Can't make a claim to be something if you make a spelling error within the same post... "incomning." It's incoming...  Thanks, and have a nice day.
