Found this article on GAME's UK website today:

 http://www.game.uk.com/lowdown.asp?tab=xb&guide_id=733

Note the box arts on the left hand side. I can't get PSP6 to enlarge the pic without ruining the quality, can anyone see who the head-in-a-jar is that the Professor is holding?

In case anyone doesn't know, the Prof himself is a head in the jar for most of the game I think.

The 25 mins of cut scenes that can be watch all in one at the end and make up a full episode sounds really sweet, hopefully UDS will manage to pull this off well.

Current UK Release Date: June 3rd. So.... 1 day after the Season 3 box set...I can see a veritable orgy of Futurama happening at my house right after my last exam on June 4th     :D

Mind you, chances are that the S3 DVD and the game will be released on the same day. So one of the dates is probably wrong.

I think it's Matt Groening (in the jar).

I thought Zoidberg was a playable character? How come he isn't on the box?

Meh, I'm disappointed in the box art... it's not very original or anything.  They coulda done a lot better IMO.  *crosses fingers they change it*

Yeah, it looks a lot like the promo posters that I always see. At least make it more artsy, or give it an action pose. Regarding the game's graphics, Fry's face can use a little more emotion, but they still got time.

It sounds like it's going to be released in the UK before it comes to the States - just like the DVDs. Futurama's weird that it's like Buddhism. It's more popular in places other than where it was created.

I guess I'll have to buy a gamecube to play that game...

They didn't say anything about a Dreamcast release!  :)

The best gaming system ever!

pfft!
The Dreamcast was dead before it even started. Those things will be collectors items some day.
Why the hell did the Dreamcast fail anyway?

Oh, and I like that box art, sure it would be nice to have a few more characters on it but overall it is rather nice. And as the old saying goes "Don't judge a book by it's cover" ...except in this case it's a game...yeah...

It looks like him. I can't think of anyone else that they would put in a jar on the cover.

Sweet. And yes, the Dreamcast was a very good piece of gaming magic, I never owned one but there were some truly great games on it. Such a shame that Sega left the hardware market.

I really like the box art as it happens. And for those wondering why Zoidberg isn't on it, it's probably because you only use him in the swamp rat racing mini games.

Yeah, Zoidberg only has a short part in the game. The way the Gamesmaster article was worded, it seems like you get to control every member of Planet Express at some point, 'cept Farnsworth obviously.

I'm really looking forward to this game. It looks like it may be quite good - and of course, if it isn't, there's still all those lovely cut-scenes to watch  :D.

In the review what score did they give the game?
I ask because I want to know if it's just going to be fans of the show that buy the game or if people outside the Futurama fan circle will buy the game.

It wasn't a review of the game because it hasn't been finished yet. It was just a preview.

The box art is alright, I'll give it a C, but could be better. But it's what's inside that counts.

No, the GameSpot article was worded that all of the PlanEx crew are IN the game. That doesn't mean playable. And what the hell happened to Farnsworth? I'm totally out of the loop here.

Firstly, it's the GAMESMASTER that we are talking about here. And as for Farnsworth, he is a head in a jar during the game, but I for one have no idea why. Possibly he gets killed and his head is saved, and saving him in the past is a secondary objective of the plot.

After reading the article I'm even more intrigued, since it seems a lot more effort seems to have been put in the game compared to the lackluster Simpsons cash-ins.

It's especially strange considering that FOX hasn't exactly respected Futurama on TV as well as the Simpsons. Anyways, it's different because they're separate from the companies that develop the games. It's mostly Sci that we need to be talking about. And whoever publishes the game (probably FOX Interactive)

Yeah. The story in this seems to have a bit of effort put into it. I am behind on information about this game but it does sound like it has some story unlike The Simpsons Road Rage...which is still good fun.  ;)

UDS are the developers, that is the people who are actually making the game. SCi are publishing the game in Europe, and I believe mArc said a while back that FOX Interactive are publishing it in America.

Bear in mind this game has been in development since early 2000!

Killerfox, I agree, the screenshots of the movie parts of the game look a little weird but you can't really expect them to look exactly like they do on TV! The in-game shots look pretty good though.

I think we should all email UDS/Sci and tell them to get a better box graphic.  Tell them to be more ogiginal... cause believe it or not, the game box is what most gamers get with their first impression:

"ooo, shiney nice box *grabs and flips over to see what the game looks like*"

Notice shitty games like buffy, they have bad boxes and didnt do well in sales  :p

Head in jar was indeed matt and dreamcast was a flunk cos it only had about 4 games. It promised so much...

I'm so chuffed that they're bringing it out on ps2. I mean I love buffy and I played the buffy game on my friends xbox and loved it, so why only bring it out on 1 console!?!?!? ARGH I must have it!!!!
