They were on sale from Tower Records a few months back. Probably someone bought one then, and is trying to make a profit. Maybe his girlfriend hates it

These are not the statues that Tower was selling. The one from Tower was produced by MAC as part of an in store promotional piece for the Tower 4-pack that MAC had done for them.

The item in this auction, while not as rare, is a Fox studio promotional piece. They were given to  Fox affiliates to promote the show (back when Fox did promote the show) back when it first started. It is a very rare piece and one that is difficult to not only come by but also in good condition and complete. This one looks to be complete as it does have the Old Fashioned Robot Oil and candy bar included. I noticed that it is missing the knob on Bender's door and from what I have heard it seems that nearly everyone of these Bender statues has a bent antennae. Not sure how that happened but I have not come across one that didn't have this problem. Since these were promotional pieces they really don't have a standard price on them. The stature from MAC had a retail price of 699.00 or 799.00 I think.

I really wanted one of those and it was just a matter of bad timing on my part as when Tower put them up for sale I just couldn't raise the money at the time. It is slowly becoming my Holy Grail of Futurama items.
