Yeh the animated menu screens are alot better this time, but still could be alot better.
Also it still kinda sticks when trying to change the language settings, or maybe its just my slowish DVD player.

The animated menus are great, a vast improvement over the static ones from the season 1 set, and the sounds is a lot better too. The fish is misplaced, why not use Zoidy to point at the episode selected? The bomb drop looks cool, but the best I've seen is the U-Yank one. I've only seen 3 episodes (with commentaries) but this set looks like a blast. Maybe I'll post some more once I've seen the rest. Only minor annoyance is the language selection. It takes me 5-12 tries to get the commentaries started, and it bugs me. I'm using the DVD-drive in my PC, but that shouldn't matter. Is minor, but still annoying. Welcome to PEEL, Mr_Predator. Enjoy it here.

Samething happens to me with the language section, just got a knack of it now, just go up and wait a few seconds and it selects the commentary , still slow but easiest way.

I think they don't want that copyright stuff skipped, when I pressed menu it said that function was not available
The menu screens are OK, once the initial animation on the main menus is over the sub-menus look better.

I love these audio commentaries. Informative most of the times, and you always funny to hear. Granted there are dull, silent moments, but you get the feeling it's because the guys are caught up enjoying the episodes. My favorite snippets so far: Writer Lou Morton was responsible for Jar Jar. The know all about the shippers, and it almost sounds like they enjoy to tease them with Fry and Leela moments. The animal clinic vet is named Jeffrey Grant. David X Cohens wild explanations of obscure sci-fi references. John DiMaggio, 'nuff said.

^ Have to go along with that. One of the things I was looking forward to the most (apart from the episodes themselves) was the commentaries. The revelation that Christopher Tyng is a drummer was pretty cool to hear, and Billy West's subsequent drummer-jokes were funny. There are less silent moments in the commentary for "War Is The H-Word", where they cannot speak fast enough. EDIT: Another one was the commentary for "Bicyclops Made For Two": Pointing out that all of the Geeks in the Internet Chat Room are the Futurama Writers (Ken Keeler, I think, being the "big stud" ) and David X. Cohen being the guy shot by Fry in the game. Loved that.

Well, what are the answers?

Fry's Xmas card was from Farnsworth. Fry said thank you, and added that he was glad to have a living relative. Farnsworth replied so was he, and then added (under his breath) he never knew when Frys kidney or heart might come in handy. I don't mind talking about the DVD's in general terms, like how I'd rate them, what I liked, what I hated, etc in unspoiled form. But some might rather hear the jokes/info from the audio commentaries, than reading them here. That's why I use spoilers.

Ihave watched all 19 episodes with and without commentary in 5 days, and it's been a blast. About 5 of these episodes were brand new for me, including AOI 1.
David X. Cohen once again proved to be a very funny guy in my opinion, and I really got the impression that all the team really enjoyed working on the show a lot.
The menus were nice, but I had been hoping for new sequences, not just animation used from episodes. (I know knew new sequences would have cost non-existant money, but I misunderstood spanish and french buyers comments about the menus).
I was frankly shocked that the SEASON 1 DVD trailer was on disc 4. This trailer was on the Season 1 DVD, and I know that there is a season 2 trailer. Why wasn't IT on the disc???
On the plus side, was nice to hear a female voice on a couple of the commentaries. And here I was thinking it was only us sweaty guys who get gigs in prime time animation.
Overall, I'd give the set a 8/10; for being Futurama; for the diversity of the episodes (too many so-so episodes); for being a very fair price; and for the commentaries, they really are a great addition, almost like getting 38 episodes for the price of 19!
Roll on Season 3 (May 2003 at the last rumour)

^ Dib's on a new car. Anyways, you could get the Region-X disk for PS2. Failing that, move to England.

Now why would anyone move to England, voluntarily? Nothing but rain, bad railways and ale.
ON-topic: I browsed through a British DVD magazine (I think it was called "DVD Review" or something), while waiting in line at a shop, and they had an article about the season 2DVD. They were pretty impressed by it, and even offered one away as a prize in a competition.
Final verdict was: Movie:8 Extras:7
Granted, I don't know the scale they use, but judging from the article they judged it as a solid, recomendable product, better than the Simpsons DVD's.
