How many here would be interested in buying Futurama trading cards? There is a slight possibility of this happening but I was wondering what the market for these would be. I think the oppurtunity to do some real fun things with them is there. I for one am all over the idea. I think they would be great and could blow out of the water any of the previous Simpsons sets out there.
Anybody else in agreement with me?

I don't know. Wizards of the Coast is releasing a Simpsons card game. Considering they make combatting games, this could be interesting. Homer's Mega-Belch would be pretty unusual. Or they could be just regular cards. Anyway, Futurama cards would be cool, considering how it'd be cool to see all the characters from Futurama, because I haven't seen episodes from Season 2 in years.

I don't think it would make a great trading card game...

I hope these card games to be better than the current Simpsons video games. Simpsons Road Rage is Crazy Taxi minus the innovative jump and Simpsons Skateboarding sounds like Tony Hawk with Simpsons characters.

Will they make a TV series to go with these trading cards? Oh wait, they already have one.

I have not found to many media type properties that made good TCG's. The original Lord of the Rings game was pretty good but became complicated after awhile. Same thing with the Star Wars one. Too many new rules with each new set released. By themselves I thought the mechanics were fun but when placed together in the game it didn't seem interesting anymore.
I think WOTC knows this and I am sure the Simpsons game will be more a specialty item than anything else. I doubt if they intend to do more than one expansion to it. Futurama could be a fun game but I think you would have to build it around the Planet Express ship and make it more like Shadowrunner where the goal of the game is to make deliveries. The other players would try to stop you from making these deliveries and you would have to use your own resources to combat them, fix the ship as well as pay for star fuel and so forth.
Anyways, this thread is not supposed to be about TCG's but about Futurama trading cards. Sorry for getting so off topic on my part.  :) Just to reiterate my thoughts - I am all for it!

Hey, don't diss Simpsons Road Rage. Road Rage kicks ass. It gives Crazy Taxi a crazy, hilarious new look. As for Skateboarding, that's a blant Tony Hawk rip-off. Time for Simpsons to make its own game.
