Futurama DVD.. I'm worried.

This may already have been asked, but..

FOX's international DVDs have the season sets based on production numbers, not airdates.

HOWEVER FOX's American season sets for The Simpsons are based on airdates.

This was proved by the fact that two season 2 episodes, "When Flanders Failed" and "Stark Raving Dad", were not included on the DVD and will instead be on the Season 3 DVD, due to the fact that they were held over until September.

So..

The international Futurama DVD has all 13 episodes, correct?

It's my deduction that the American DVD will only have nine.

Why? Because, if you go by airdate, "A Flight to Remember" thru "Fry and the Slurm Factory" were held over and aired as part of Season 2.

Just a nagging concern that I hope can be either confirmed or proven false. Cause that'd make for a sucky DVD, unless it were only 25-30 bucks instead of 50.

No reason to worry yet. Nothing to happen on that front anytime soon.

There aren't real "international realeases" either. That would be region-0 encoding.

My German (region 2) Simpsons 2 set only has 7F01 through 7F22, too. "When Flanders Failed" and "Stark Raving Dad" aren't on them and as far as I know, not on the UK release either.

9 episodes would make for a poor DVD, plus they'd have to re-work the DVD and packaging and all that, I can hardly see them bothering.

They may never get around to releasing the Futurama sets in the US anyway.  I just found an excuse to upgrade my DVD player to a nice region-free machine and bought the region 2 discs.

I don't even think Futurama will be out on DVD for a while in the US anyway. And besides, South Park's making their DVDs and they're going to have 10 episodes for this past season on one set. I don't think a two-disc season one DVD would be a problem.

Hello, Fisrt post.

I bought a region free dvd player yesterday for several reasons:

1. Futurama dvd's  (according to HMV  season 2 will be released on 30-9-02)

2. David Gilmour Live in concert (probably will never be released in the U.S.)

3. Simpsons season 3 released 2-12-02(dont even know when it is to be released in the u.s.) along with the treehouse of horrors, backstage pass and the film festival dvd's.

4. Amityville Horror part 2 (dont understand why it is not available in the u.s.)

Hooray for region free dvd players!!!!!!

Region 1 is rumoured to hit stores in March 2003 and will have all 13 episodes.

Will season 3 be coming soon?  Will season 4 & 5 get stacked together? Will there be season6?
The suspense is killing me.

I'm not sure when season 3 is coming out.  Season "5" is just left over season 4 and 3 episodes.  FOX has these left over episodes because of their crappy scheduling of the show.  As for an actual new season,  I wouldn't hold your breath.  FOX doesn't seem to like the show, so I would expect hell to freeze over before they order more Futurama.

HMV's wesite had it set for a Dec 12 release, but it is rumored to be out in April 03.
