This just came out today! I haven't had a chance to read my copy yet, but it looks great. Post your thoughts on the crossover in this thread.

Hopin' against hope that I can find it somewhere. Its a separate issue though right? Like, not Simpsons, not Futurama, its its own comic? Then I have a chance, since special issues of Bongo I can sometimes get, like Radioactive Man, or Bart Simpson comics.

Incidently, Shadowstar, your avitar is perfect for those kinda posts, Zoidberg in a yelling position, and you saying something like AWWWWWWWWESOMMMMME!

Mine's being shipped over to the UK from Texas, along with all 9 of the Futurama comics!

Probably going to have to wait until next week now.

I have just read it and it is really really good for a first start, especially the story with fry and bart in the school, the leela one is good too.

This comic was pretty good, but it's too much introductory. #2 will probably be better. I don't want to ruin it, so look below.

"Rosebud... Yes, Rosebud frozen peas. Full of country goodness and green pea-ness. ...wait, that's terrible. I quit! ...just a handful for the road. ...oh, what luck. There's a french fry stuck in my beard."

The first 11 pages set up the story, so I expect a lot more Simpsons/Futurama bidnezz in the next issue.
I'm glad the story is more Futurama based and that the writers didn't make it more Simpsons just because one is more popular.

I agree, futurama opens up for a better story.

The store I get my Futurama comics at has the Simpsons comics also, so I'm hoping they'll carry this issue.  Have to try and get it this weekend.

Picked mine up yesterday and all I can say is that I really enjoyed it! The story is moving along well and I agree with those already posted that this is starting out more as a Futurama comic and not a Simpsons one. I applaud Ian Boothby on being able to pick up these characters so well and doing such a great job so far.
Certainly this issue reads more and is more related to the show than Futurama Comics is. That is about the only thing that is off for me. It is a minor point but Simpsons fans who do not watch Futurama may not get the full impact of Fry and why he is so powerful against the Brain Spawn. There loss is all I can say.  smile
Another interesting note is that the Day the Earth Stood Supid was just on TV and it coincided brilliantly with the release of this comic and it makes me wonder if this was all some grand plan. Or I wonder if somebody at Bongo Comics saw the airing schedule and decided to hold back releasing this comic for a couple of weeks to coincide with the airing of that episode.

Being in Germany, I don't have it yet ...
I'll get it in a week I guess.

Be nice and copy your reviews over to CGEF here, as Ian (one of the guys behind it) will read these.

I never usually buy comics, in fact, I think this is the first I've ever bought, but I was in Forbidden Planet and saw it, and thought I might as well pick it up, as it was quite cheap.  I don't really have much to say that hasn't been said.. A good story, but it was definitely only an introduction.  I'll definitely be getting part 2 when it's out.

I actually found it! I looked in Forbidden Planet and it said they had them but I couldn't see it, and while walking around I saw another comic shop and I found it for 1.85! It is quite good actually!

I almost beat the shit out of one of my co-workers. He went to a comic book convention in Toronto, there WAS a Bongo Comics Booth, he saw the issues on sale, and didn't buy one.

I found the cross-over issue online at a Danish comic-store. Weeeeee, only 3-6 days of waiting.

Picked up Futurama Comic #9 while I was there.

Dude, this sucks. With this crossover hogging the spotlight, Futurama Comics #10 will probably come out in 2003.   cry But the comic is good, so I can wait. But I can't wait till December for part 2, god dammit!

According to the latest Diamond Previews catalog it has an advertisement for Futurama Comics 10 being released in November. I hope this is true as I am of the same feelings as you Shadowstar (less the swearing of course  smile ). First having to wait until December for part 2 plus havine Futurama Comics on hiatus (where have I heard that before?) is just too long. I don't care how under staffed Bongo Comics is that is not acceptable in my book.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that the Diamond catalog is correct and we will see issue 10 sometime in November. On another note, wasn't Futurama-rama supposed to be released in September?

G'day
Does anyone know if the Futurama/Simpsons crossover is available for purchase anywhere in Melbourne, Australia? I've asked my local Comic Book Guy TM, but no luck.

Try Forbidden Planet's International side, I think they ship all over the world. Bought my first comic today, The F/S CC, obviously, liked it.

I hadn't got round to reviewing this yet, but I think it's absolutely awesome! I never thought that mixing Futurama with The Simpsons could work so well, but they pulled it off really awesomely. This comic was mainly setting up the story, but I found it extremely engrossing and it had really great artwork too, especially the cover   smile
