Got the new Diamond Distributors' catalog today; here's some info on a couple of previously-discussed Futurama/Simpsons stuff...

Confirmed: the book Futurama-O-Rama is indeed a comic compilation: the first four issues of the Bongo comic.

It ain't a Brain Slug, but Blinky, the three-eyed fish from The Simpsons is Dark Horse's latest squishy toy. (Like H.G. Blob, Blinky has three eyes, and will be translucent with "sparkle-filled" fluid.) The same price and probably the same size--probably off the same model, the eyes/face look incredibly similar.

I hope everyone has written/will write to Dark Horse for a Brain Slug and The Visible Zoidberg.

Ooh! Ooh! A "Visible Lrrr" would be cool too! He could come with a Free Waterfall Jr. figure inside! Bam!

Discussed in other threads/sites, "The Visible Zoidberg" was a fan-proposed toy of various descriptions.

The ultra-deluxe, in-your-fanboy-dreams version would have an unshelled Zoiby (perhaps with a removable shell/case) with his assorted organs, recently-eaten items, "pearls," and other disgusting things visible through his translucent skin, and maybe a sound device ("Ew, you're touching them!" "So I molted, why not?" "Hooray! Now Zoidberg is popular!" ).

But I'd settle for a toy like H.G. Blob or Blinky, a squishy toy of the floppy unshelled Zoiby with weird stuff floating inside.

The other day I was in the Canada One Outlet Mall in nearby St. Catherines, and a new store opened up, Gifts For Guys. I went in and my jaw dropped. They had Simpsons toys. Tons of them. And simpsons board games (monopoly, clue) and posterboard cutouts, and stuff. I asked the person there if they stocked Futurama toys, and she said they were looking into it already, and they might in the near future. This is the closest I've ever come to seeing some Futurama merchandise...

Ahhh... a glimmer of hope...
