But you don't reget it, do you? I've completely forgotten what I paid for mine. As soon as I was set to handle Region-2 DVDs, I looked for the best deal available for international shipping at the time, plunked my money down, and didn't give it a second thought...you can't take it with you.

Oh absolutely not, however I feel that Aslate managed to find a better deal than me and to get that extra 5 quid I had to trapse across Norwich during my lunch hour to get it and was about 40 minutes late back to school.

....
No, don't regret it in the slightest!  :D

I pre-odered mine from Blackstar and got 10% off, but I'd pay the extra for it, it's worth it.

According to BBC Ceefax, The Simpsons Season 1 DVD box set sold badly, and if Season 2 performs as badly, there WON'T be a Season 3 set.

Heh, that review is stupid. He bangs on about any old subject for a while, not once mentioning anything useful, like actually reviewing the DVD.

Anyway, Simpsons Season 1 sold a million copies worldwide  ;).

So did the season 1 and season 2 VHS sell badly? Is that why you can't get season 3 on VHS?

I've read at "Evergreen Terrace" that the Season 3 DVD set is already in the works (and that was more than a month ago)

Simpsons S3 had a rough date of December. I thought Futurama S2 was out on 30th September.

Payndz said September 30th too. Maybe this is just the release date in France. Season 1was released a few weeks later in Germany than in England. I don't know, but it's great news that they're releasing all of production season 2 now.

But does this mean that we have to wait until "The Route of All Evil" have aired before we see the season 3 set?

Hah! We'll probably see The Route of All Evil on DVD first--if not exclusively. Lots of shows have their plugs pulled with episodes left unaired: The Tick has one, even though some other eps were run two or three times.

The ONE thing that gives me even a little faith that there will be another season at all is the fact that FOX has so skillfully screwed themselves into a corner and probably won't have anything else to air, except already-well-worn reruns of King of the Hill and other animated shows.

On the other hand: as I write this, The Simpsons Season Two DVD Set is Amazon.co.uk's second-best-selling DVD. Futurama Set One is still at number 83 on the list after all this time; The Simpsons Season One is 113.

Sales are doing fine.

(I just found out recently that my PC's DVD software displays the five-time region-change rule--but ignores it. If I wasn't already using my PS2 for Region One DVDs, I'd still be sittin' pretty.)

My guess is that "The Route of All Evil" will be one of the earliest 5th McSeason episodes to be shown, and that it'll be aired before the 3rd season DVDs are out.

I said yonks ago that Futurama season 2 would be out in September, and I think Monday September 30th is probably the UK release date.

I'm guessing that Season 3 should be in May/June 2003, by which time FOX will probably have somehow managed to muddle through the remaining 16 episodes.  However I don't think there'll be another season after that, FOX will probably fob the US public off with yet more repeats.

Good to hear about the DVD sales, BrainSluggo.  I guess the report I saw on Ceefax was probably based on some shitty internet rumour.

I planned to start getting the Simpsons Season DVD's from S3 onwards (as I've got them on VHS and don't have money to burn.), and I've got all of the compilation videos, except "Film Festival".

Looking forward to Sept.30, definately.  I'm sure that Fox will still release them anyway regardless of sales, to milk whatever revenue they can get out of them.

Cheers,

M.

Germans can preorder it at amazon.de for €54.99 now. Will have it on CGEF soon, too I guess. Still waiting for amazon.co.uk ...

use that link to order so CGEF gets rich and pay its hookers

Shadowstar, we're talking about Season 2 DVD's.  There's probably some threads in the General Discussion talking about McSeason 5.

this is the italian Season 1 box front cover:

How many months were passed since the release of S1 DVDs? I'm just wondering how many months will have to pass until we could get S3 DVDs

Here's Blackstar pre-order page for the S2 DVD (no picture yet), still has it at September 30th, but I'd keep an eye on it if they're gonna put it back.

Seoason two can be pre ordered in Britain at www.blackstar.co.uk  with a release date of 30th september. This date may be wrong on their part but at least it can be pre ordered at £32.99

I'll wait for Amazon.com.uk.  As an international buyer, I can't really take my chances.  Thanks for the box art, Matty

Blackstar worked perfectly when I bought the Season 1 DVD set there. But I'll buy it at amazon.co.uk this time, to generate some cash for PEEL/CGEF/mArc.

Nice box, thanks Matty. I'm kinda disappointed though. It doesn't look like they'll keep it "in them" with the first season box. The problem isn't with the back- and front-side cover. They should be different, and this actually looks rather cool. But it would've been nice if the sides were identical in style.

So Season 2 is being put back to November.  This means that Season 3 won't be available in the UK until AT LEAST July 2003, by which time "The Route of All Evil" will definitely have made it to Sky-One.

I honestly don't know. I though C4 were gonna show Season 3 in the autumn, so I keep looking in the TV guide every week.
Last year I think they cancelled Futurama as it was going to be broadcast on Sept 11 (I think the ep was actually "The Deep South" ) and we had to wait until last easter to see the rest of S2.

According to 'blackstar.co.uk' it will be released on September 30th. Btw, I found that out at TLZ. But for some reason the list of episodes at Blackstar only goes up to 'AOI 1'. To be honest I don't belive that it will come out in September, I think Blackstar have old info or something. I just thought I'd point it out though :)
