PEE Poll: What do you think of Toynami?
I love them and collect them all.
I really like them and have some.
I like them, but I don't have any.
I don't really care for them.
I'm just here for the free food.

I think Hedonismbot would come with grapes and/or chocolate frosting can and of course comes with man servant Djambi..

Tinny Tim should come in a limited exclusive edition three pack with Dwight and Cubert, best way to sell characters mostly only the hardcore fans would buy.

Now that I think of it, the robo mafia figures could do that as well, make exclusive 3-packs of them as well.

It's better than no robo-mafia figures.

Sometimes I think they do it to piss the hardcore fans off...
the same way Matt Groening will spell his autograph Matt Greoning to annoy fans he finds annoying or overzealous.
Yeah, I think it happens because they probably are to lazy to fact check everything and go, "Eh, they're fans with money, they'll buy it regardless"

I always thought they should do a series of Dwight and Cubert, each coming with half of Tinny Tim as their accessories.

sal and scruffy better come out before a hedonismbot ...i'd buy a malfunctioning eddy before i ever bought a hedonismbot..he's an alright charactor but in figure form, i think he'd look weird, kinda like leela's off colored hair.

tho, i do like the dwight cubert two pack. they did it with the alternate universe fry and leela, and with the SDCC '08 exclusive robot santa bender packs. so i'm sure they would sell as a two pack better than singles.

the robot mafia ina 3 pack would be cool, but i'd rather have them in single, unless the packaging is like the rest. (destructor excluded, stands out likea sore thumb just like the glorious golden bender) it saddens me that the re-issue of the re-issued fry is going to be out before morbo, lurr, clamps, joey, donbot, and flexo...thats's effing ridiculous.

why not cop the extra 15k and make a zoidberg re-issue.

i guarantee that will sell out faster than any of the re-issues.

B/c Toynami hates money I guess... I wrote them a letter and never heard back.. one of my main points for writing them was just to say that same thing about a Zoidberg re-issue.

How could it not sell very well?

I'd buy three or four Zoidbergs, and I'm not kidding about that.

On the same day I worte a few other toy companies, I heard back from every other toy company... except for Toynami... still no reply.

Lame.

Toynami not replying to customer emails. Website has not been updated since Sept 2011. Their Facebook has only about 620 members, which again shows their lack of focus on marketing and communication which is bound to result in less customers and decline in viewership.

They have rolled out great line-up of figures in the past. But not keeping fans and customers informed about product progress (no matter how bad manufacture issues they have) reflects so poorly on their brand.

I wanted to know whether the company ever communicated directly with the fans here on the forum and wanted to see how their product release changed over the years. So past few hours I started reading the previous two Toynami threads dating back from 2007. Thread 1 and 2. It was great catching up all things from the start of the figure line and discussions pertaining to it, including some good detailed posts from user jabalong in the past, very informative. And was also glad to see Toynami sculptor Otto (aka SculptBoy) offering background information whenever possible with his posts.

Toy companies these days have dedicated staff or at least one individual who answers queries on email, FB and Twitter. Toynami seriously should consider doing the same, else fans will just stop caring and eventually might even despise them no matter what product they release.

Well said, Spideristic. I agree, communication is everything. It would be nice if they did a "who do you want to be the next Toynami figure?" fan poll and they proceed to sculpt a figure for the winner. Kinda like how USAopoly had a poll for who should be the special golden token for pre-sale orders. It adds some fun to the line and gets everyone excited over what is going to be next in the line, continuing to engage fans in at least one step of the process as opposed to leaving them out in the dark with no updates or word on any progress they may or may not have made.

Toynami hates money I guess.

They're actually pursuing a very effective strategy to make sure that the stuff they make will be forever sought-after. It's possible that the company has purposefully limited the number of each piece on the market in order to manipulate the perceivced worth of the item, and they don't want to make/release any more of them because that might cause a drop in the price of those that are already out there. In the meantime, they'll ignore any questions or comments on the whole thing so that nobody is aware of their overall strategy.

If one of the company's top folks has a warehouse filled with original Zoidbergs, he's sitting on a golden goose (apologies for the horrendously mixed metaphor).

Even if he just has ten or twenty and he's waiting for the price to hit $300, he's doing pretty well. It really wouldn't surprise me if these things are being manipulated by somebody for their own financial gain, rather than simply because the company don't care about the fans.

only flaw in this is once they hit the open market toynamis no longer making money off them.

it's those people who're holdin out until it hits $300 that're going to be making a killing. off a measly $15 dollar purchase in early '07. alas, i love my figures, and i will wait until i get what's going to be comming out. but i will not be raped royally for a figure. i.e. the SDCC destructor, i'm not going to willingly fork over $150+ for something that cost $40. and if it never comes out to retail i'll be contient with that not being in my collection. tho i am striving for an entire collection, i can't go over $130 for glorious golden bender, so if i ever get the SDCC destructor it'll have to be a gift.

It's not really a flaw if they're in the hands of Toynami's higher level employees, or being sold direct to consumers from the Toynami vaults.

Would it kill you to use capitalisation in your posts, btw? You appear to know where the shift key is, so it shouldn't be too hard for you to press it at the start of a sentence, or when pressing "I", or when typing the name of a character. It would make your posts much easier to read.

Yeah, I don't work for them, I just wanted everyone to take advantage of the good pricing and be aware it's selling pretty fast... also if you use POL at BBTS your shit ships for so cheap.. it's the most affordable place to get Futurama stuff online from a toy dealer.

I want Toynami to know we are still hungry fore more, give us the robo-mafia!
Hopefully good sales will lead to that.

Here is my final BBTS update post (I'll just update this post until all gone):

i highly doubt toynami is that shiesty. and if they are and theres proof, i will never buy another product from toynami. it's just those people who knew it would be worth money and kept theres ina safe place until times like this when the lines boomin with people wanting the elusive robot devil.

maybe they should make a stand alone robot devil..because to get it, you'll be spending alot of money for the first two figures...which makes me wonder, how many were made in the initial run.

shocking i know, i came here to discuss the action figures not punctuation or grammer. i also don't spell words out the european way. in america i was tought to spell capitalization with a Z not an S. tho it's correct either way. pronounce it and with a S it sounds corny.

After posting my previous comment, I emailed Toynami's customer service and sales orders department. I linked them to this thread and directed to this page to my post. I told them we fans are supporting the company, but their lack of communication is making it harder for us. And that they should consider a dedicated customer service on various platforms.

Got a response today from sales.

"Hello Vivek,
Thank you for the feedback and I understand your frustration. Unfortunately, we must respect many different facets of this industry which often means we are unable to speak on certain products until they are set for release. We appreciate the support from our fans and would very much like to answer all of their questions but often we are not permitted to. We hope you can understand the legal implications we face when working with artists and their copyrighted materials.

Best Regards,
Toynami, Inc.
"

Told them I will convey this to the fans so that they know why all queries are not being answered.

Guess I will just join the waiting game anymore.

The difference here is that tnuk uses the S instead of the Z because that's how capitalisation is spelt in UK (correct) English (since he's from the UK, why wouldn't he spell it that way?) and that both ways of spelling it are correct in their respective forms of English, whereas not using capitalisation isn't correct in any form of English.

What I'm trying to say is that not typing words properly because you're "not a fan" and typing in one accepted form of English over another aren't the same thing and comparing them as such makes you look almost as silly as not using capitalisation does.

Now that I've made my first post in this thread and it's completely off-topic, I shall go back to reading but not posting in this thread since I don't own any of the figures.

Don't you just hate keyboards? :p

TNUK came in this forum to troll. He did it in the For Sale thread with no intent on buying, and he snuck in a snide remark to Stockroom regular nacirema. I have no issue with not understanding nacirema, and he only posts in this forum as far as I know.

I hate to be the "bad guy" here, but I will do my best to keep this forum clean and ontopic. I check this particular Stockroom forum multiple times a day, and many of the regular posters in this subforum come here to only talk about the merch and nothing else. Quite ironically, I find the posters here to be the most likely to adhere to posting rules, and there's rarely wasteful "spam" posts which I would think many would find more abhorrent than not capitalizing a word here and there.

Anyways, now that I myself have strayed offtopic, let's get back to what we came here for - the toys.

(And if anyone here is annoyed by someone's posting style, there is always a PM option so it doesn't get dragged out further in what I believe to be one of the more purer subforums of the board).

I hadn't removed my Toynami figures for years until a few months ago because I didn't want to lose the small parts that came with them, given the crowdiness I had at the time.
