I need to pick up a Blu-ray copy. Still got the iTunes Web HD downloads on the PC but it's not the same.
1080p Futurama? *drools
Any word if the first 2 films will be released on Blu-ray?

At least on my smaller display, HD (1080i) via short, high quality component video cables looks as good as when using the HDMI cable.

From the Möbius Dick review thread... I saw this the second time now since I watched it in its first airing. It is the second episode on the Volume 6 Dvd. Yup...

Anyone know if Katey Sagal does a commentary? I'm not holding my breath on this, but it would be a pleasant surprise if she did one.
Yeah, why does she never do any?

It's a shame she isn't on any, I mean she's been to Cons, but maybe the money was better...

I don't think it's a case of her being ashamed of the show, since she credits it with rejuvenating her career and seems to have great fun doing it.
Perhaps she just feels she hasn't a lot to contribute to a commentary, being surrounded by folk who can do all those different voices and can discuss how they arrived at those voices, how they do them... and she just uses her regular speaking voice. But I never listened to any of them, so I don't know what kind of thing they're supposed to talk about.

I fucking LOL'd yesterday on the Lethal Inspection commentary when Billy West says "The Flux Capacitor, Marty!" in the Professor's voice. Also, listen to John DiMaggio's version of Michael Rowe's (I think it was Mike...) "The Gay Guy and the Ghost" story on the Bend Her commentary.

Maybe it's old-timer-ness kicking in, but I haven't found the commentaries past the movies to be that thrilling. The original run had some FANTASTIC commentaries...as of late, especially on these last discs, they were kinda boring. Different writers or a shifting group dynamic could be attributed to it. But regardless, it's just not...on par, ya know?
I have to be honest and say that I can't disagree with you there - on the Vol 6 commentaries anyway. They just seem to be lacking a bit of energy that the other commentaries (including the ones in Vol 5) had. Some are better than others and are still a good listen for a fan I'd say, but one of the things which I think didn't help is that all of them were done months before the episodes aired. I know past commentaries and some of the ones for Vol 5 were recorded like that, but I think part of what still made the commentaries on that set a great listen were when they'd mention viewer feedback from the internet on the episode they're commenting on. Another thing which doesn't help - I think anyway - is that they're starting to have too many people in the commentaries - very much like they do on The Simpsons commentaries now. The original run, at most, had 8 people in the commentaries. These ones have like 10 or 11 at the most.
