Hi

I didn't find any info over here, so here you go the cover of the Futurama Volume 6:

Any word about the extras?

One thing that worries me is that only the DVD version has been announced, not the Blu-Ray one.

I looks nice and in-keeping with the art style of the previous release. Like with last years I'll be importing it from America. I hope they come out as one entire set in the UK one day...

Quick question, do you think the episodes will appear in production code order as they have done with all other previous sets, or do you think they'll appear in air date order? The reason I ask this is because the 6A was aired in production order anyway, but 6B has been all over the place in that regard...

Everything in the original run was in order, so I'll assume this will be as well.

I thought DXC always sticks to the Production Order when it comes to DVDs and stuff.

Logic would dictate that yes it will, but I just wondered what the general consensus was due to the fact that this DVD set is the first in which they were aired out of production order since production Season 4 which was many many years ago...

Nah, I can bet DXC will make sure these go out in production order.

Yeah, it would be pretty damaging to my Futurama OCD if they didn't go by production order. I don't see why they wouldn't, since that's been the norm. (And, actually, I cannot figure out why CC is airing season 6B all willy-nilly in the first place.)

The other question is will 6A and 6B be released on one full set in the UK after Sky has aired them? I really hope so...

Have you even compared SD and HD with a Futurama ep? Huge difference.

ALOT more difference between the two.  That's why I wish they'd get off their ass' and put all the past seasons out on blu-ray as well!

i have, and theres really not that much of a difference.

it's kinda a better picture.

but just like twist said, they need to put the original 4 seasons and first two movies on blu-ray before i even consider buying.

@nacirema: Kinda a better picture? You need to use my laptop's DVD drive and compare it to Blu-Ray and then you'd wonder why in the Hell you never converted. I need a BR player first, and I WISH these were combo packs. I'd pay to have both DVD/BR in one like new movies come now. I get pricing would be double, even triple, but I'd shell it out. I will rebuy all the sets if they come out in high def Blu-Ray... my laptop's drive bugs the shit out of me with it's annoying lines and shit.

I really like the box art this go around.

yeah, i watched benders game on blu-ray on a highdef TV, and it's crisper, but why would i waste money on ths season to be on bluray when they haven't made the first four seasons and two movies bluray?

i got a playstation 3, so i know what a blu-rays like. just didn't really see a difference, it's a cartoon.

just my opinion.

The colours are more vibrant and whatnot.

Now I'm in a mess here, I dunno if to get Season 6 on Blu-Ray or DVD. :hmpf: I could only watch it on Blu-Ray on my PS3 in my room, but on DVD I could watch it almost anywhere.

Read up on the Euthanasia device. It was invented in 2008 and could be considered a prototype version of the suicide boot.

No, in 2008 I only recall three major-ish points in my life, well, five:

*Best Summer Ever
*Spent Summer Playing Secret Agent Clank on the PSP
*Spent Summer obsessing over Wall-E
*Went to Suffolk with my Dad, Stepmum, Brother and Half-Brother

And one of the best things ever:

*September/October-ish - I discovered my love for Futurama.

The fact that it's "just a cartoon" means that I'm even more up for getting this in HD. Animation looks fantastic in HD -hand-drawn stuff looks PERFECT. I'll admit that it already looks good, but there's literally no imperfections in the hand-drawn stuff I've seen on blu-ray.
I'll definitely be buying any Futurama I can in blu-ray from now on (except for the first 4 seasons should they ever be released in the format, given that they were only produced in SD).

Same here, and it makes sense to do so, cause Blu-Ray will probably take over DVD, like DVD did to VHS. :D

I can see DVD and blu-ray living happily together for quite a while given that as far as I know, all blu-ray players play DVDs and that not everything is available in HD (such as the first 4 seasons of 'Futurama').

Currently, I only bother with blu-ray for things that look particularly nice in the first place.

Sometimes a Blu-Ray player will even upscale a DVD! Dunno if it would with the Futurama DVD's...

It always has done for me, but then it's possible that it only plays some DVDs (much like how it plays a handful of PS2 games) and I've just been lucky every time.
I'm pretty sure that it does, though.

*Bump*

So I tried Bender's Game in my PS3, the line-yness that I was complaining about didn't really seem to be there, and the colours were a little more vibrant. (Planet Express had a pink-ish tint to it) I'll have to try some of the other movies/seasons too. Awesome. :D

I also noticed Mom said she flipped a coin to decide whether to keep Igner or the after-birth, meaning in Universe 1 Mom has an after-birth lying around. :puke:

The PS3 is a very decent player of both DVD's and Blu-Rays, so I'm not surprised things looked better on there. No amount of amazing picture quality will ever make Bender's Game a great movie though :hmpf:...
