Today I took a trip to Forbidden Planet, and to my surprise they had some Futurama tin signs! It was the first time I'd seen any in real life, and they look so great! They didn't have all of them, but I only had enough money for three anyway, here's what I got...

They look great on my wall, just wondering, has anyone else got any?

Yes, I have 4 of them and they are pretty cool. I originally wasn't intending to get these but I was in my local Tower records about a year ago and they had them all marked down to .99 each! I couldn't pass that up so I went ahead and bought them and I am glad I did. The only drawback is that now I need to find the other two that I am missing to complete my set. Looks as though 2 of the 3 that you have are the ones that I am missing.

.99 each! That's a real bargain, I paid £12:99 each for mine.

Cool picture Chump, I didn't know that there were magnets as well. My tin signs are different, they're about 40cm tall and 25cm wide. Great for going on the wall, they're so well made too :)

I bought the tin signs last year (not for 99 cents unfortunately!).  I really like them.  They're quality stuff that will last a long time.

Coming from a nation that was built around tin minning, I say: 'shut you filthy noise hole'. :p
The Romans invaded Britain for the tin Cornwall was producing.

I think the reason there is a lot of Futurama merchandise made from tin is because it's retro. A lot of the merchandise is a parody of 1950s type Sci Fi. The tin signs are done in the style of 1940/50s propaganda. You may also have noticed the packaging on most Futurama products is inspired by retro Sci Fi as well.

Ohhh! Retro laughs!

That makes me think of that clip from the Simpsons of the 50's, when people are watching TV, and a train roars at the screen and the whole family screams and dives for cover. That was so hilarious.

(reading Chump's post)
Wait, there have been nine signs?
Strange..., should have a serious chat with my favorite retailer...

That's because Chump posted the Magnet Signs Colltection. The Tin Signs are something different, although they have a few motives in common.
