I got an email today telling me that my card has been declined for some reason and that I should ring them to sort it out, but being based in the UK and it being an American number... well, this could be awkward.

What?? Oh no! Wait I thought they didn't ship to the UK?

I got an email yesterday saying mine is on the way. Even with no funds, my plastic works. Woo

I've got a friend stateside - it's going to their house, then they're sending it to me (along with some other stuff).

I've been in contact with them via email, anyway. I'm just going to order on the site again and send them a message and they'll upgrade it to the 'golden Bender' edition for me. All's well that ends well.

So my game arrived on Monday btw. Pretty spiffy looking, I'll see if I can get some pics of the cards to post later on this week since you already know what the rest of it looks like.

This was posted about 20 min ago on USAopoly's facebook page:

USAopoly

Well, we’re boned! 3 of the Chance/Community Chest Cards were
unfortunately printed with missing directives in the Monopoly:
Futurama Collector’s Edition. USAopoly will be sending out replacement cards to all who pre-ordered the game through USAopoly.com. In the meantime, you can download temporary cards from the link here:
http://www.usaopolygames.com/futuramafix/
Futurama_Card_Fix.pdf

We truly apologize for the mishap. We appreciate your patience and support! Team USAopoly

I found the three cards in question. Wonder if that will make them a collector's item or not :p Hahaha.

I guess, unfortunately, they won't make the set any rarer because the golden Bender head already separated it from the regular sets that'll be for sale. Is that right?

If you know someone in America, see if they can ship it for you. Otherwise I am not sure...

I'm actually about to go out and get some colored dice for the board, I hate the standard white dice they come with. I am looking for red and green (Planet Express colors) but I am going to see what I can find. The board itself is blue so maybe a PEEL blue or something like that will suffice heh.

So I went to the mall today and the game store there had 3 Futurama monopoly games (with silver Bender token head) at $40 each. If there is anyone here in Europe interested in one, let me know, and I'll pick them up. It'll be $40 + cost of shipping, whatever it is. Let me know ASAP though since there are only three left.

Can you give a rough estimate on the postage?

Whatever the postage is, I recommend that the product value is marked as no more than $18.00 because otherwise you will likely get raped by import tax. It's happened to me a few times in the past...

Postage will likely be somewhere in the region of £20.

And have the package marked as a gift, that'll get you ought of those horrible import taxes. If they open the package up and see that it's worth more than $18, you could get in trouble, but there's no way for them to know it's not a gift. Plus, it sort of is a gift in a way, anyway.

Really, hm. So declare it as under $18 and mark it as a gift? I was going to check online to see what it would give me for shipping...I know some shippers require the exact postal code before they can tell you, so if you wanna PM your address Danny or whoever else is curious please do and I'll tell you what it says.

Ok,

So to ship to Danny's location in the UK the cheapest is $27.50 USD for first class mail USPS (but doesn't say arrival time) or $40 USD Priority Mail and that arrives in 6 to 10 business days. UPS and FedEX are both well over $100.

Where is your friend located cyber_turnip that it is only 20 pounds to ship? Maybe it is because I am way over on the West Coast that it is a little more.

$27.50 is slightly cheaper than £20, actually - that's only about £18 by current conversion rates.

I was just rounding up when I said £20 in case it cost a little bit more for whatever reason.

Is that how much it is then for him/her to ship it? What service are they using? For it to be that cheap the website didn't say when arrival date would be.

My package is actually going to cost a tiny bit more than that because it's also going to have a couple of vinyls in there which will add to the weight/make the box bigger...

I don't really care how long it'll take to get to me so long as it gets here eventually.

Hmmmm, double rareness means I'll never open my box if my parental unit caught the hint I wanted this for Xmas (hey, if they'll buy it, I won't complain when getting gifts)..... I need to seal it in a glass case I do if I get it. If not, I'll just play the Hell out of the normal edition I suppose and hock off some other useless boardgames. So long Payday, you waste of space!

Really good deal Quolnok, dunno how they are able to sell it for so low when the Pre-Order was as much as I found it in the mall. Great find though.

I already opened mine, didn't think I'd find the regular version in my area since there aren't a lot of stores that carry Futurama product, it's hard enough to find it in the comic stores.

I played it, I mean, it's just like playing any other version of Monopoly...just robots and mutants, heh. I actually played it using the special rules that came in the Star Trek one...I don't know why every monopoly doesn't have those. Those rules are cool. You get to do something extra if you roll doubles. For example, double 2's means you get 200 dollars. Double 6's means you can destroy an opponent's ship (or house in the regular game). Double 4's and 5's means you draw a card from community chest/ chance cards, double 1's means you can pick an opponent's place they own and roll for it (you roll higher you take control). Stuff like that.

:laff:

I just have Futurama, Star Trek, Seinfeld, Cat Breeds, and then CATopoly (same basic game, but different brand). I might get the Klingon one.

The Cat breeds Monopoly was actually free - it was supposed to be on sale for $15 or something at the pet store, but when they went to ring it up it was so old it was out of system and rang up at those O.OO codes - the girl called the manager on duty and he let me have it for free :D Ah the perks of retail.
