So looks like Toys R Us is now carrying Futurama Toynami figures. I only saw the second edition Bender at this one but they might start selling more...

TRU sold the encore editions of Fry & Bender.  I'm guessing they are willing to take re-issues of the popular characters, which probably is only Bender, Fry and maybe Leela.  I HOPE they carry future figures!!  But they didn't carry Wooden Bender or URL in stores.
They do carry a couple of the figures in pairs online still.

I'm guessing that TRU is the "major retailer" who Toynami talked about cancelling the Robot Mafia order. If not TRU, what other major retailers have sold this line?

Bam!  Just won a Glorious Golden Bender on ebay for US $122.50!  Plus $30 postage to Aus.  A steal!

This now completes my mint, unopened collection of all figures and variants, exclusives and build-a-bots!  Get in!!  :D

The sad news is i'll probably look at selling them all as a complete set in the not-to-distant future as I could do with the cashola...But i'm sooo delighted to have put together the whole collection over the years and manage to resist the temptation to de-package them!

Think someone awhile back was looking for Futurama stuff in the UK.

Not ordered from this place, but I know someone who does:

i am subscribed to receive e-mail updates from entertainment earth anytime a new item is added to the Futurama category.  Today I got the email i'd been waiting for.  "New items have been added... blah blah blah."  I rushed to the site only to find that the items they had added were non-mint versions of old figures.  That was one of the worst letdowns ever... and I saw Indiana Jones 4

I'm not sure many people will be willing to pay that much for a complete set of figures to be honest, the only ones I dont have of yours are Bender/Santa and Gold Bender, I've bought the rest within the past few months and have probably only spent about $200.

We'll see - i agree the price is high, but its a unique opportunity to grab the figures in one go.  I don't want to sell them for dirt cheap, so i'm sort of testign the waters a bit as well.

I calculated the initial price by working out as follows (in Aus dollars) based off current ebay listing prices, excluding delivery:
$200 for GGB, $80 each for Zoidberg variants (x2), $80 for Santa combo, $80 for Alt Universe Fry and Leela, $80 each for original Zoidberg and Fry, then $30 each for the last 16.  Grand total = $1160, rounded up a few bucks.

The exchange rate isn't working in my favour at the moment either as the Aus dollar is just about the only good currency in the world at the moment.  If it doesn't sell, i'll drop the price a bit and see.

The good thing is at the end of this, you'll all have a good idea what your collection is worth!

I hope you did'nt buy the Golden Bender hoping to increase the value of the collection?

Take him, the first release of Fry + Zoidberg and the exclusives away and as much as it hurts me to say not worth much

My valuation:-

Golden Bender £100
Zoidy £100
Fry £80
Zoidy variants £60 each
Alt Fry + Leela  £50
Santa + Bender £50
And the other 16 £10 each but probs cheaper???

Sounds about right  :hmpf:

So Beer Monster King's GBP600 works out to AUD935 vs the AUD1199 listing price, in case anyone else was wondering...  ;)

I'm too lazy to do my own valuation, but by the sounds of it, the collection ought to be worth somewhere in the neighbourhood of a thousand dollars, maybe less, maybe more.

But then there's still the problem of the killer shipping, which is hard to get around unless you can find a local buyer where you live.

I'm sympathetic to karlheinzsmith's idea of trying to preserve the cachet of selling this as the "entire collection" (to date anyway). And I'm sure there is someone out there who'd jump at the chance to get all these.

The trouble is it's a small market of people who are big fans of the show, don't have any of the figures and have the money to splash out on them all at once.

I’d think if you’re intent on selling these as one lot, you need to really beat the bushes and put the word out in places where you can find such a person – like on any and every Futurama forum you can find.

And maybe not just on the toy sections, as really you’re looking for a hardcore Futurama fan who hasn’t got into these toys yet – who knows maybe there are even some here in other sections of Peelified.

At the same time, I see you’re in Perth, which isn’t a small town. Don’t know big Futurama is down there, but I’d try put the word out locally as your lot becomes much more attractive without that shipping cost.

So I’d try put the word out on Australian forums, and you could also maybe talk to your local comic shop type places as they may be able to put you on to potential buyers.

That’s my two cents anyway. Good luck and let us know how you make out in the end.

Good points everyone, and great advice Jaba.  I'm kind of testing the waters at this stage - theres 8 'watchers' on the item, at least three of those are genuine (and not you lot! ;)) as they appeared on there pretty well straight after I listed the item and before i mentioned it on here.

Shipping is pricey, thats the biggest worry for me.  Theres no way i'd ship them anything but registered mail with tracking and signatures, but unfortunately this doesmake it a bit pricey.  If I have to re-list, i'll have to try and absorb some of the shipping costs myself.

Well as a comparison I have all of the "standard" store release figures (no exclusives or variants) + the Tower Records Mac Toys 4-pack and that whole set just cost me $510 USD to assemble over the past couple of months. I started collecting them in July 2011 so the prices I paid are fairly up to date.

The most expensive piece in my collection was the Zoidberg (which I got from Beer Monster King)

...And yes Obsolete is missing from the group. My first one had a shipping accident and the replacement is on it's way from Amazon now.

Zoidy! How i miss you!!! Thanks for the pic Dungeonstone, nice to see he has gone to a good home and your collection is looking great.

The MAC set is great, as we all know the one thing that line had which Toynami lacks is accessories.

Anyway for now karlheinzsmith i think you have 3 options:-
1: Keep dropping the price until they sell
2: Give up for now and wait for more figures to be released (May take a while!)
3: Split the figures and sell them individually.

None of these are ideal and to be honest i would like to think that the collection is worth quite a lot of money.

That said i feel the value lies in the hands of Toynami. If they were to announce an encore Zoidberg or a Robot Devil figure tomorrow (for release in 2015!) you would have to expect the value to drop.

Anyway good luck, less than 2 days to go.

if i remember correctly otto said something about toynami losing the zoidberg molds, and they cost somewhere around 15k to make so they'd have to be really streachin it for figure ideas.

i personally don't think they should reissue zoidberg without the devil head, and with the fry and bender reissuses they didn't posess those parts. doulbe lame on toyniams part but that said they did 'lose' the molds.

tho, i could really go for a complete robot mafia with flexo, morbo and lurr before christmas and it's looking like that's not going to happen.

The thread has gone quiet.

REALLY quiet!

Almost 2 weeks since the last post.

Does this mean we are losing interest because of the lack of news regarding new figures?

Think so, there is only so long people will wait then they will move on to something else.

I feel like Toynami are losing their fan base but there are loads of new fans coming onto the scene.

They need to announce something soon, if they dont the collectors they have will move on.

Any thoughts?

Sorry, the dreaded double post.

This has just been listed on eBay though:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FUTURAMA-SERIES-9-SEALED-CASE-BRAND-NEW-BENDER-URL-/360414444861?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53ea5ffd3d#ht_4711wt_1604

So thats £35 for a case of the most recent releases.

4 Wooden Benders and 4 Urls for 35 quid.

Looks like Dungeon Stone was right, they have invested too heavily in the most recent waves and can't get rid of them.   :nono:

i won't 'move on', i demand they release figures..i mean, half of the figures they've been talking about releasing...they've been just that, talk. this is the longest wait since i started collecting back in 2008. and it's fcuking ridiculious. since last year i've wanted a morbo, and lurr doll. and to tease me they talk about releasing destructor and gender bender. i have a better chance of winning the lottery than seeing these figures this year. and even if they push it'll probably be mid nevuary before the mafia is even talked about.

toynami has alot of other lines that're doing well, had alot at the comic con...but they're steadly losing my intrest. i'm glad with what i have, but i want more.
