I got it! Came in the post and was waiting for me on the couch when I got home. :D

So it comes in a sturdy-ish card box (which is shiny!), the shirt came folded up in a piece of card (the card has a picture of what's on the shirt) and wrapped in clingfilm. The script was in perfect condition, no creases or folds, and a lot of the pages have been coated in doodles and sketches of the crew, dunno if they were added for this or they are actual sketches. And the Blu-ray/DVD comes in a standard Blu-ray case, with 2 flappy disc things. :D

It's not really limited edition, I think he means the DVD/BD double play that comes with shirt and script.

I do, but it's called the "Limited Edition". ;)

Anyway, about the script, as I said there are a lot of doodles in it, and one of them is quite disturbing...

It's the Queen (not the one from ATPH, it looks closer to the real world Queen) in bed with a shirtless Professor... She's in the middle reading the Sun (it's a newspaper in the UK), the Professor is on the right and Bender is on the left with a cup of tea... Underneath them is the British flag connected to the Canadian flag, and above the flags it says E. FONG.

*edit* On closer inspection, I can see the Queen is shirtless too, but the Sun is covering her boobage, thank God...

There seems to be a lot of references to Britian in these doodles, in one of them it's the entire crew sat on each other's shoulders, and Nibbler is at the top holding the British flag on a stick...

Also, the script reveals a few of the unknown character's names...

Queelee is the name of the male pink creature and Sheequee is name of the female pink creature from the year 5000000. Nala, Stela and Phetra are the names of the three girls who speak in the year 50000000. ;)

It's really annoying how the US DVDs are in really nice box sets and ours are just put in a standard dvd box :(. It was like it for the movies and it's like it for the new volume 5 DVD :(.

This. The DVD is nice and all but I was a little dissapointed by the lack of artwork...

With the movies a lot of the artwork was cut completely from the UK releases. I'm still waiting for my Blu-Ray of Volume 5, but I own the US DVD so I'll be able to compare them shortly with regards to the artwork...

Also, with the movies I believe in the US they were carbon neutral, but in the UK they weren't. Not sure if that has any relation, but perhaps they weren't here because the UK doesn't give a fuck, and by that logic that's why a lot of the artwork was missing too...

My blu-ray copy arrived today and it looks utterly gorgeous. Actually perfect.

The DVD looks good for a DVD, but it ain't got nuffink on HD.

I was always under the impression that the show was originally never made in HD, so I assumed that the opening sequence wasn't made in HD either? With the new eps, I thought that they used the original opening sequence; the one that I assumed wasn't made in HD, rather than re-make the opening sequence in HD just for the new eps?...

Therefore wouldn't seeing the opening sequence in HD be same equivalent as re-releasing the old non-HD seasons on Blu-Ray for a very marginal improvement? Or was the opening in fact made in HD?...

I am highly confused by what you just said...

I think they remade it, as they had to add on the sides for the new screen size... Plus, it's deffo in HD now...

Clool, I've learned something new! I guess I didn't realise as it's not as obvious as say when The Simpsons opening got remade in HD. I'm glad it's not as obvious though and that they kept the essence the same...

On the 'Bender's Big Score' commentary, they talk about how they essentially had to trace over the old frames they had for the pilot and draw extra stuff in at the sides to get the footage they re-used from 'Space Pilot 3000' again, in widescreen and HD so that it didn't jar with the rest of the animation. I always assumed that they basically did the same thing with the opening sequence.

Yeah I expect so at that rate, and they must have done a very good job of it too!...

Seeing as I got my Blu-Ray today, I thought I'd take some packaging comparison shots. Please remember, this is the American DVD and the UK Blu-Ray...

Front covers...

After sliding them out of slipcases...

Disc holders...

Back covers...

Spines...

As you can see, the UK Blu-Ray packaging misses off the back three panel spread artwork which the American DVD release has. This is probably the best piece of artwork in the set, but the UK Blu-Ray neglects it entirely, which is quite sad. Otherwise, very nice packaging for both sets!...

Can anyone else verify, does the UK DVD release also miss off the back three panel spread artwork as well, or is it included? Also, can anyone also verify, does the US Blu-Ray include it or neglect it?...

Has anyone watched the Delivery-Boy Man special feature? Fry's versions of Bender and Scruffy's voices are hilarious. :laff:

And when Invader X speaks I can't help but think of Billy West trying not to laugh in the studio. :laff:

The UK DVD's packaging is pretty much identical to the blu-ray, it's just in a blu-ray case instead of a DVD case.
