Has anyone got the H.G. Blob squishy toy yet?
New Force Comics says all their preorders for it have shipped.  I ordered mine from Amazon, but their site says it hasn't been released yet(they're always behind the ball).  Just wondering if anyone has their grubby paws on it yet!

You know, I've got the same thing going on with Amazon and that Futurama paper doll book. Except I preordered it a month or two ago, and its estimated time of arrival was, uh, the previous December. Looking at it, I see that it actually is shipping now, so I guess the beginning of April isn't too bad for something that claimed to be out in February. See if I deal with you again, Amazon.

amazon is good to deal with when they stock something. Preordering seems to be a mess. Didn't realise that till now but will stop promoting preorders on items on cgef if there is another source to get it from ... annoys me really to tell people "you can get it there, should ship in a week" and then amazon starts stinking.

He's pretty cool but they made him too sticky. I have a crapy digital cam, so he is a lot better looking than this pic.

Cool, I can't wait to get that and add to my figures collection. How much was it BTW? My comic book store always jacks prices up, the bastards.     Yet I keep buying stuff there since I'm impatient and don't want to wait for stuff to get shipped.    :p

I just got my one with fry inside.
the blob is great.it's like a squishy snow glob(it has glitter and water inside.
Fry could be better though.it's head sculpt could be better and so could the paintwork on it.

I understand variants contain Fry, Bender, or Leela...if "Leela" Blobs exist, they're probably deliberately rare. A quick peek at eBay shows a couple of Fry and Bender pieces, but no Leelee.

I hate it when they do that, now I'll have to buy all the variants, if I can find them.

ZOIBY? Oh hell, I must have one. (It's more "politically safe" than a Leela one. Y'know, violence against women and all that rot. Oh, but the lobster and robot and the young--whattayacallit--idiot! Sure, THEY can die in the translucent acidic bowels of the vile space creature. Fine! I'll get my lawyer!!  :D )

Just don't go to the same lawyer that I use. Damn Hyperchicken always loses my lawsuits, I'm telling you it's the last time I use him.

On the other hand he did pretty well on my murder trial last year. Insanity plea in 2 minutes flat.  :D

These figures sounds neat. I'll try and look for them next time I'm in the capital.

I saw the H.G. Blob with Fry in it at that comic shop nearby the Empire State Building, but for $10, I passed.

Just picked one up today. Ten bucks, but it's sooooooooo cute and smells like spray paint! (Let's all get high and act like retards!)

Okay, after extensive research online and in the (horrors!) outside world, I've found the H.G.Blobs come with Fry, Bender, or Farnsworth, not Zoidberg. (Oh, so now they're picking on senior citizens! WHERE'S MY LAWYER!?!   ;)  )

No Zoidberg?  I was hoping I'd get a Zoidberg in mine.  At this point I'm just hoping for anything.  Amazon.com is so slow with the blob!

Let me clarify: I can't find one word of a Zoidberg Blob, aside from TheVoices' mention. In spite of my research, I also had no idea that there was a Farnsworth Blob either, until I got my mitts on it. So the Zoidberg Blob may exist; however the store where I picked mine up had loads of Fry Blobs, many Bender Blobs, a few Farnsworth Blobs, but no Zoidberg, Leela, or other Blobs. If they exist, they're rare ones. (A Zapp Blob would be kickass. It'd be well worth ten schmuckbucks to have him dying on my desk every day!)

In regards to the Zoidberg blob that was an idea that was tossed around at Dark Horse Comics. For those here who had visited my site (A Big Piece of Garbage) before February 28th I had a contest up that if you gave your opinion on the idea of a squishy Zoidberg you would be entered in a contest to win a GITD Leela bendy figure. I had intended for the contest to run until the HG Blob was released but it kept getting pushed back.
Now all the feedback I recieved (I did get quite a bit so thank you to all who participated)unfortunately got deleted from my site when the @home service went bankrupt. I completely forgot that I did not have a backup of that file with all the feeback and so when the deadline came and went I never bothered to get that file so it was lost before I could send it to Dark Horse Comics.
At this point I would assume that the idea is still open and that Dark Horse may still do it in the future probably depending upon how well the HG Blob does.
I apologize for my boneheadedness to all those who took the time to give feedback on this idea for not getting the info to Dark Horse.

It took a little while to track A Big Piece of Garbage's new home down after the old one disappeared, but I'm glad I found it.

We were getting all psyched for a potential "Kooshy-Gooshy Visible Zoidberg"--I would have preferred "Ooey Gooey Rich n'Chewy Zoidberg" (sing it to the old Fig Newton jingle) but that would certainly lead to legal troubles down the line when some stupid Earthling child actually devoured one--and would gladly voice that psychosis again given the chance. A similar toy is mentioned at Futurama Merchandise.

BTW, if I had any critcisms of Mr. HGB, it would be this: (1) his pupils should be red, as per his close-up in The Series Has Landed; and (2) he swallows his victims head-first, so they should be upside down. I can get Farnsworth ass-up with a lot of shaking and squeezing (not too hard, now!), but he always slips magically right-side-up by himself. Old bastard rat stink-pig.

Thanks for the plug there BrainSluggo. I emailed all the people who I had done a link exchange with but not many of them updated their links page.
As for the figures being right side up within HG I can only say that I agree with you in that he typically swallows them head first but considering his consistancy inside would think it would be easy to right oneself once swallowed.  :)
Boy am I geeky or what?

I saw in my statistics that amazon is now finally sending out the squishy blob for $9.99

If you want to order, please use this link and click "add to cart" directly to give some money to me for PEEL/CGEF and the hookers.

I saw the one with Farnsworth in it, The package has a hole for you to "test" it's blobbiness before buying. I didn't buy it though because I need to save for the Episode 2 soundtrack and a metal Bender toy.

For those in the UK:

Forbidden Planet in London (near Tottenham Court Rd) is selling the HGB for £10. Mine has Fry in it and doubles as a great stress ball.

Best 'value for money' Futurama merchandise out a the moment IMHO.

Holy crap, wiggles...is really it that tough? I don't dare play rough with mine, for fear that the questionable substances within suddenly squirt everywhere.

The Farnsworth figure is based on the figure from the die-cast collection; how about Fry? I can't imagine he'd still be doing the die-cast Fry's happy little gesture while drowning in digestive fluids...

Well mine hasn't gone 'pop' yet... Seems to stand up to quite a bit of punishment. I guarentee it! (This is not a guarentee).

I'm not sure if the Fry figure is based on the die cast set. It looks a bit odd actually, and yes, he is happy.

Hey, we don't know what H.G. Blob is actually made of... perhaps part of his chemical composition is "the essence of flavor"?

BrainSluggo: "Only one way to find out..."

Bites head off of HGB, sucks out fluid, swishes and swallows. Spits out Farnsworth figure, which, unnoticed, abruptly gets up and runs away.

BrainSluggo: "Ack! Ack! Huck! Huck huck! Ewwwwwwww! It tastes like Grandma! ...I want more."

Slurm Queen: (watching monitor) "Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!"

I got a Blob with Farnsworth in it yesterday - it was the only one they had at my local Forbidden Planet. It's the only 'toy' merchandise I've got so far. I agree with wiggles that it's the best value for money Futurama merchandise.
