Maybe they'll mix it with the Decision 3012 episode. "Nixon's running again! It's the end of the world!!!!!!!!!!!"

I had no idea there were futurama comics!!(I know, im ashamed to call myself a fan..) Ive been looking online but cant find a full collection. Any of you guys know where i can purchase it or good groups of them. i dont want to have to order 1 at a time.
I would try looking for them on ebay now and again as I'm sure some people sell them with 2 or 3 issues. You can also buy some paperback books but so far there have only been 5 of them.

I just won Issues #1-10 off e-bay yesterday XI already had 8 9 and 10 but couldn't find all the rest). All I need is number 11 and I got them all. I have the paperbacks but ...nothing like seeing the paper comic and flipping through it in person. Also I wanted to see the write in letters they had at the time from fans, supposedly Jon (bart182) was in one of them or so he claims. I will find out shortly if he is a liar or not!

So I'm thinking of starting my comic collection. Should I get the UK ones or the Americans?

Hm, well, surprisingly, the American ones are easier to come across online, and in stores.

But the UK ones are 2 US issues in one, it includes fan mail and a poster. But it only comes out like every 4 months.

US issues come out every 2 months, but they're like A5 sized, UK is A4. It's 50-50 for pros and cons.

Subsribe to the UK version here.

So thanks to my Dad (long story), my name is now going to appear in a Futurama comic. Written by Eric Rogers. (Of course.) Woo!

Well my Dad, knowing that I'm a huge Futurama fan, tweeted Eric saying he should put my name in an episode. He said he probably couldn't, but he could get it in a comic, then someone else tweeted saying "DannyJC13" sounds like a robot, then the Infosphere asked if they could be in it or mentioned on a commentary, etc...

Way to go, Dan.  I've called and stopped by my semi-local comic book store a number of times, but every time I do they're suddenly out of Futurama comics :(

Danny: Not sure if jealous or proud of you.

Tachyon: Why not ask them to order the comic specifically for you? My local shop does this and has slots for all the customers who get comics from there and if your store won't do it, then you might as well try to find some other place to throw away your money because comic book stores are practically obligated to do this for customers. I say that with a very loose understanding of how such shops are operated of course.

She's right, a lot of stores (not just comic, but gift and novelty too) will gladly take your name down and keep it on file when a product you like comes in. It's only courtesy and exudes great customer service.

For sure, and thanks for the advice, guys!  In my case, I'm just a bit curious about the comics and want to check a couple of them out in the flesh.  Of course, if I knew that there was a specific issue coming out with a PEELer reference (e.g. DannyJC13) , I would ask the retailer to special order and/or reserve one for me.

I have no idea what issue it will be or when it will come out (most likely late 2012/early 2013, at a push mid-2013), but he'll let me know when it's all ready and stuff.

I hope it's similar to when 'The Simpsons' were going to work breath-a-sure into a script after being sent some free stuff.

So Bongo released loads of info on their huge revamp, and I think a preview of upcoming comics, now, I dunno if this is from a new comic or not, but it looks pretty cool:

(Bender and the Professor in the middle, obviously...)

More here.

Oh, oh, I also asked Eric Rogers would Futurama be getting any spin-off comics, because The Simpsons have loads, he said:

we are trying -- I want to do a Zapp-Kif spinoff, so keep your fingers crossed that it happens.

A few of those images are Futurama, looks like Poopenmeyer will be involved in an Elmer Fudd parody. I suspect Bill and Matt's "secret project" is the restart of "Roswell".

Only one of the comic sites I check bothers with Bongo, and that's just the solicits. Also the comic shop I go to puts Bongo's stuff in or next to what appears to be the younger readers section. So it doesn't surprise me Bongo is putting out one of those fliers.

I'm not surprised Kif/Zapp is the target for the spinoff, especially with Eric having written three minis focusing on the duo recently.

Quolnok, that avatar is a great one for several reasons. Here are a couple:

As far as I know, nobody really prominent uses it.

It's so thematically apropos to this thread.

Back to the comics...

So I missed out on the SDCC Delivery Boy Man exclusive for conditions out of my control and for a while I saw it on the eBay in a few places but now I can't find it :( I check periodically for it though, so if anyone happens to stumble on it before me...please give me a shout out, thanks!

Hell, you can get Futurama comics at a Toys R Us so long as they carry comics which somehow shocks me, as I don't really see it as a kids thing (and TRU isn't a book store). I suppose it's smart of them to carry comics though. I feel Futurama comics are more of a tween and up comic because of the source material. *shrugs* Maybe that's just my POV.  As it seems all of my Disney comics are either on hiatus or have been axed, I impatiently wait for Futurama bi-monthly. pleaselettherebeaZapp/Kifspinoffpleasepleasepleaaaaaaseeeeee....

Edit: Looked over that Bongo redesign... God DAMN nobody knows how to leave good designs alone... Way to make everything look like a child drew it guys...

In the UK it's classed as a kids comic. We get stupid plastic gifts and children can actually send in their artwork a very stupid questions like "Can you answer my question?" and "Why does Bender steel?

Yeah I saw a 10 year old's letter which claimed him to be the biggest fan ever then asked something like "Where did Nibbler come from?" and "What's Fry's real name?"...

Those aren't the exact questions, as I don't remember them correctly, but they were along those lines... :nono:

And alls everyone talks about in those letters is Junk Mail Guy from The Simpsons Comics... Give it a rest...

Picked up the latest issue (59), haven't read it yet but I gotta say BIG improvement in terms of paper quality. Nerdy thing to point out, but its true. The cover has a subtle texture and the inside pagers are of a heavier glossy stock. Really hope they continue to use the new paper for future issues. The art is so-so this time out, the cover is "meh" but I do like the new logo.

How's the story?

Can't read it at the moment (at work, eyes are watching me) but what I saw looked pretty wacky. Lots of owls. One nit-pick: the mutants are still living underground. C'mon, Futurama comics! The Simpson comics gave Maude Flanders the boot when she died on the show, so why not follow the show's continuity when major changes to the Futurama-verse occur?

Haven't they all been glossier pages for a while now, or are you saying it is even better than before?

Better than before (isn't that from a Beauty and the Beast song?), it's a little heavier. All the newly branded Bongo comics have it. Either it's a one off to make the new logos seem better or a new thing for all the comics. It's pretty slick.

I'm going to assume you mean the heavy stock that Kaboom uses for their stuff (if you've ever seen Kaboom comics that is) or something akin to what's in the hardcover Crossover Crisis.

The UK has this as a kid's comic book with little kids WRITING IN? :nono:

Actually, now that I think of it I'm sure I saw some kid's drawing in a previous issue. Not sure if it was an Australian or US printing though.

Well, I've read #59. So-so. I can excuse the mutants underground, as they don't necessarily all have to have moved to the surface. I doubt they could afford the rent. So far the mail for the US edition might be from adults.

Holy crap, I got the new issue in the post today, 5 days early!

And to my surprise, it's got the new refreshed logo on it! Bongo/Titan have really put effort into something for once. :D

Gonna check out the full thing later anyway... :)

*edit*

Think I'm gonna pop a bloody blood vessel in a minute... First of all, 2 of the pictures sent in are by 10 year olds, and one is by AN 8 YEAR OLD! Secondly, a 14 YEAR OLD boy, yes, that's my age too, has written in some questions, the first one being:

1. Is Kif an alien?

And this one sounds like bloody Fry:

3. How did Professor Farnsworth become smarter?

AND THIRD (rage is bursting now), SOME KID HAS ASKED WHEN NEW SIMPSONS EPISODES ARE COMING ON!

Oh no... This is too far...

In response to the Kif question, the mail room guy replied with:

"He is indeed - he's from the Planet Amphibi!"

THAT'S NOT EVEN IN THE SHOW! IT'S AMPHIBIOS 9! :finger:
