You didn't answer my question.  It sounds like you don't want Volume One.

I'd made sense if you had said, "they can put off some of the seasons, because I just want the Bender Head".

Yes, I wouldn't want volume one in the imaginary volume two set I was just sort of thinking about.  I have volume one, or I will when I go and get my Bender Head at Comic Con.  It'd be nice if there was a complete deluxe package with everything when Groening and Co. decide enough is enough, and a second, smaller package that didn't include volume one for the people who already have it, either season by season, or in the Bender Head, or what other "complete collections" exist right now.

@Kickpants: Wait, do you mean that when Futurama finishes it's complete run (let's assume it goes to S10 and a Theatrical movie), you'd like a second set that contained the episodes that aired from 2010 to whenever it ends? As in, there'd be the Bender Head (S1-S4, plus DVD Movies) and a Planet Express ship (S6-S10, plus Theatrical Movie).

Check out some photos of the real Bender Head from the Futurama Complete Collection:

I don't know about the DVD covers... they seem very simple...

I was right!: http://www.peelified.com/index.php?topic=17869.msg1052773#msg1052773

Anyway, I see this as a no sell. I think few are going to plunk down 200$ for a head and discs with very boring artwork that won't fit onto a dvd shelf without taking up major room over 4 box sets and 4 DVD's (that average out to 160$ (and you can buy them separately, so at your own leisure) with good artwork all-around that can fit into a DVD shelf.

Also, it doesn't really look cool.

I hadn't seen this before. Holy shit that's cool! I won't buy it (as much as I want to) since I already have all those DVDs... but damnnn.

What I may still buy is a reasonably priced set of all the movies on Bluray since I have the DVDs. Any word on that or even just on the first 2 movies coming to Bluray individually?

Well, if the price drops to $118 (like when it appeared at Amazon) perhaps someone will buy it, but is true, many people already has all the seasons and movies. If a die-hard fan buys the collection, it will be for the Bender head!

On top of everything, just three weeks ago I ordered the first four volumes of Futurama from Amazon for 40 USD (a one-day deal) since Kelly has pretty well scratched every disc.  Maybe the Bender Head Case will be an object of desire for the most ardent collector, I just ain't going to shell out the bucks to have the ugly thing on my DVD rack.

The official press release is out, and amazingly it states:
For those fans that already own every "Futurama" adventure on DVD, a limited number of empty "Bender Heads" will also be available for purchase.

I MIGHT just get an empty head (if the price is right).

I'll be interested to see what the empty head will cost compared to the filled head. FOX would literally be telling us how much the discs alone are worth, and possibly revealing how cheap their packaging actually is.

If I had the empty head, I'd probably keep the discs in their old boxes and place the head high atop my DVD shelf next to my tiny Crow T. Robot figure.

I think I already know the answer to this, but I thought I'd check just to be on the safe side... if I were to order this from Amazon right now, it would be Region 1 and not work in my English electrickery, right?

I should probably add that I don't actually possess a complete set of Futurama DVDs due to thieving and/or careless friends making most of them unusable.

The complete collection, complete with the ugly Bender head thing, now only 117.99 USD.  To be released on Oct. 13, you can pre-order today.

From Amazon.com, of course.
