I didn't want to buy it because there was nothing new on it.

Stupidly, I actually did buy it. I was desperate for any news on Futurama and vainly hoped that buying it would cause FOX to renew the show.

Of course that did happen, but it still was a shitty purchase... :p

Isn't there a new commentary on one of the episodes or something?

I bought it because this was back when the movies weren't a guarantee and I wanted to show my support for the show.  I don't think it was worth the money, honestly, but I don't exactly regret buying it either.

I bought it but not for me, my friend liked Futurama but didn't have the entire series.
And there's a new commentary on Hell is Other Robots this time with Billy West and Claudia Katz instead of Eric Kaplan and Gregg Vanzo.

Despite owning all volumes of the series, I bought it to show support for the series and  don't regret it at all.
- package fits in perfectly with the movie DVDs
- episode intros
- new commentary over a complete storyboarded episode
- convenient single disc of four excellent episodes
- it was only $14 new and can be found for less than $9 now

I bought it despite owning all volumes.
My main reason was to support the show, and also to have the new commentary and the extra features.

I have been considering purchasing it ever since I bought the complete collection.  My main reasoning was that with the commentary at hand, I can help writing production sections as well as commentary articles on The Infosphere.

But I guess I have enough commentaries to get started right now.

I bought it as well. Didn't cost much, and it supported the show.

Theres an animatic that you won't find elsewhere for "Hell is Other Robots". Theres an early Fry/Leela moment that predates AFTR when Fry asks Leela to take a ride on the Tunnel of Love at the amusement park. Not really sure why they cut it.

So overwhelming are my shippy impulses that that alone makes me want to buy this DVD. I am a sad person indeed.

I've also always been interested in hearing that commentary track. And I assume buying anything Futurama-related still goes a long way to supporting the show, and its possible second comeback.

Damn, I may just have to shell out the ten bucks now. Thanks a lot, Chug a Bug. :p

Just a question, but does the Infosphere intend to provide transcripts for every commentary? I noticed one for "The Beast With a Billion Backs", and I thought it was pretty impressive. I know you guys have an article for almost every commentary, but the transcript is particularly awesome. The Infosphere is unbelievably comprehensive as it is, but commentary transcripts just take it one step further, into even nerdier (and thus happiness-inducing) territory. I imagine there must be a lot of tedious work that goes into transcribing a commentary, what with all the talking out of turn and mumbling (and, on occasion, consumption of chips), so I just wanted to give you guys a kudos for even attempting one. Like I said, it's somethin' else.

Well, ideally, yes, we should have transcripts of all episodes/films and commentaries.

We have been debating comic transcripts, but we fear it is too close to plagiarising, so those are - for now - not allowed.

However, we may also provide transcripts for animatics as well.

We strive to be the most comprehensive Futurama encyclopędia and knowledge bank or whatever you may want to call it, and we already believe that we have fulfilled that task, but we can do much better.

Ah. Out of curiosity, would you accept a commentary transcript from, say, myself? Summer's coming up, which means half my work-load will be eliminated, and I may have the time to punch out a few of them. I'm not sure what your policy is with unsolicited submissions--I'm a member of the Infosphere, what with log-in information and everything--but I'm just wondering. I agree that The Infosphere is pretty damn comprehensive as it is, though.

Sure thing, knock yourselves out.  Only thing, notice how the other transcript articles are done, and copy that format.  We like standards at The Infosphere.

Bought it, and as previously mentioned, the commentary and the box design that ties in nicely with the four movies make it a must have for me, and the price i got it for, £4.99!!  :flirt: plus you have to support the show :)

It's the only Futurama DVD I didn't buy. I have the 4 seasons and movies on DVD and seeing as I had all the eps I didn't get this. I love the art on the cover though. I've supported the show in other ways such as my giclee, tin signs, die-cast figures, metal URL, every calendar, Space Pilot 3000 poster, early poster re-print, all the TPB's and nearly all of the comics etc...

Consider this: buying the one Futurama compilation DVD is $10, and you get some exclusive features.

Buying every single Simpsons DVD compilation is a headache and a waste of money. No commentary, no extra features. Wait, you get "The Best of Burns" which is the equivalent to a fanmade YouTube montage.
