Model kit maker Scott Spicer has shown some initial interest in my suggestion of making model kits of the following subjects from Futurama: An accurate PE ship (not like the Skyhook Models version), the Nimbus, the Titanic, Mom's spaceship and the Palm D' Orbit orbiting restaurant.

One of the things he needs to do is research how desirable these kits would. Please let your opinion on this subject be known. Are there very many other people, besides me, who would like to have model kits of these spacecraft? Remember, merchandising  helps keep Futurama alive! Please vote and post your opinion. Thanks!

As mentioned in the other thread price, size and quality are all factors but count me in.

If you want to see a sample of Scott Spicer's work, then go to the following website:

http://spicerstudiosinc.com/spicer-studios-gallery/thumbnails-php?album=10

There you will find pics of his Star Wars Liberty Cruiser. I think this guy has the skills to make some great Futurama models, if he'll do it. He also has a post in the Forum section of finescale.com. Its under the Sci-fi section of the forum, and is titled, "Liberty cruiser finished" (I think). Maybe if enough people let him know they want Futurama kits, he'll make them.

I am a model builder. Though I mainly stick to subjects from the 20/21st century, I have a secret Futurama-inspired project on my workbench! :D

Sorry about the dead link, folks. If you go to spicerstudiosinc.com, that will take you to Scott's site, and there, you can find picks of his work.

By the way, Torgo, any wip ics of your Futurama-inspired project? Wanna tell us what it is?

There isn't much to show, I just started on it last weekend.

Just primer'd the unmodified chassis, sanded all the mould parting lines off, marked out what's getting cut off, or parts added on to.

As for it's name, I'm tenativley calling it my Leegola Fastarossa!

Apparently "turanga" means a lot of things in maori...

Anyway, Turanga Tere? It could mean "speedy poise"... or possibly "floating parking spot". I'm not very good at maori.

Well, I want it's name to reflect some of it's Italian heritage, and with Leegola being her centaurian name in BG, I think Leegola Fastarossa a good name to start with. :D

Thanks, and I appreciate the input Arch!

I think I read somewhere the name is also Sanskrit for "song of love, or great joy" something like that.
