That struck me, too; he's talked about his family on TV, and didn't he and his wife go to some event that the PE crew attended? (There's that scene where his wife's fussing with his tie.) And Leela would surely know that he had a wife and kids, and she's not usually quite that dumb about the men she picks. Unless Morbo played the ol' "I'm leaving her" card...
(Then again, is anything in the comic considered canon?)
It was an okay story, though you'd think that after being dumped in the 20th century, the 31st century, and having been the target of her concerted nagging in both, Fry would learn to stay away from Michelle. (Though this is Fry we're talking about...)
But it was sweet at the end, when he buys a star for Leela. Possibly, this time it'll turn out better...
