Bongo Comics has created an all-new, 16-page, full-color Futurama mini-comic that they will be giving away at the San Diego Comic Con.
The comic celebrates the upcoming release of the Futurama DVD movies.
The story is written by Futurama writer Patric Verrone, with art by Bill Morrison and Jason Ho. So be sure to visit the Bongo booth during the convention to pick up your exclusive free Futurama comic!

Here's a look at the cover art :-

This is awesome news!!!  I have been drooling at the mouth for years waiting for Mr. Morrison to do some art for Futurama and now it is finally happening - and it's free to boot!!
I was actually thinking I might not go to this years show but now with all the great Futurama stuff happening I am totally jazzed about going.

PS, for those interested in all things Bongo stop on over to baloobas' site as he is in the know if you know what I mean.

It will be nation wide but it will have like a collector's edition sticker on it and lots of ads inside thats what the Futurama/simpson comics do in Australia anyway

I picked up a copy of this at Comic Con and  this really is a very cool comic.  Not only is it a fun read but the art is top notch and kudos should go out to Bill Morrison, Jason Ho and Mike Rote who took care of those chores.  They should work more on Futurama Comics in my opinion.

But the story is the thing here - this is not your typical Futurama Comic story here this is really an ode to the fans who have kept the spirit of the show alive and who are the ones responsible for bringing the show back.
I was told this comic was put together kind of last minute and that more than a few Bongo-ites spent some long evenings to finish this and make sure it was ready for Comic Con but looking at it does not reveal a rush job in the slightest.  Make sure you write Bongo and let them know what a great job and keep up the great work on this and heck, even for continuing to publish Futurama Comics over the years.
Make mine Bongo!!

I managed to buy one of these off eBay. It's very good, who else does an ode to their fans like this? Makes supporting Futurama all worth it. The artwork is absolutely fantastic. I love the story with them re-living the 72 episodes again and again lol. It cost quite a lot, but I wanted to make sure I could get one now before they become ultra rare in the years to come...

I contact Bill Morrison from Bongo regularly, and he said the comic may surface as a special feature on the upcoming DVD.

It was my understanding from the show that the Futurama panel which used the comic as a table read would be on the DVD and not necessarily the comic itself.
OPJ, next time drop me a line before going to eBay - I got your back.  ;)

I think Bendo's right, but it would be awesome if a copy of the comic was included with the DVD (or something similar).

Well, if they animated the comic that'd be cool too, and that fits into your "something similar" category, 1BDI.

It is still out there, although has not been updated in a verrrrry long time.  I have been dabbling with it and hope to bring it back real soon now that the show is getting in to gear again.
