Entertainment Earth shows two series of the diecast figures... SERIES 1: Leela, Fry, Bender, Farnsworth SERIES 2: Nibbler, Amy, Hermes, Zoidberg But then I also came across a version of Series 2 with a Shiny Bender instead of Amy and Hermes: I never bought these, so maybe someone else can clarify. Interesting that the latter has the same packaging as Toynami's line.

Ya Gonzo, that's the ToyRocket packaging I remember seeing in stores - with two characters I believe to a hanging card. I see on ToyRocket's website that they are currently selling series 1 and 2 in the Toynami-like packaging. I'm thinking that these are reissues repackaged as four to a box set. While shiny Bender is cool, I find it strange that ToyRocket chose to drop Amy and Hermes for these box sets - as you go from offering the complete Planet Express crew to an imcomplete one. If I'm right about these being reissues, then I gather by the packaging that they were done to capitalize on the Toynami lines being out and to bring the branding in line with each other. I wonder how that works though as would have thought that was Toynami’s packaging design. Unless it was Fox that came up with it or retained the right to use for other licences. Or maybe ToyRocket and Toynami struck a deal. Dunno.

Ya, the packaging on these and the Toynami figures is great. About Slurms, it's true he's hasn't really appeared much in the show, just a couple of times I think. But as a teenager in the 1980s, I remember Spuds MacKenzie well and have always had a soft spot for Slurms. And after all he is The Original Party Worm - Whimmy wham wham wozzle! I'd make the figure just like this. Him sitting on his surfboard with some sand around the edges. And I'd love a floating cooler of Slurms cans (say on a transparent stand). Failing that, then put a can of Slurms in his hand. And really what's Slurms without a couple of fawning bikini girls - hmmm, deluxe figure set? Or alternatively there's him rocking his guitar with the girls in posing mode. Hell, could do it all - him on the board with the guitar, while one girl bends over fawning and the other poses.

Thanks for the link Quolnok, can't wait to see the photos roll in. What might we see jhvz? It's a total shot in the dark. Not counting Morbo and Lrrr who we've already seen, I'm thinking at least two more figures, possibly four get revealed. By popular demand, I figure this is the year we get Scruffy, while Elzar is another logical guess to compliment Chef Bender. So maybe one or both of these show up at Toy Fair. Beyond that, Otto mentioned he was working on something "BIG" and looking at his choice of avatar, Destructor perhaps?

As far as what to expect, I second the Scruffy and Elzar as possible releases. I think they will announce another set of four (hopefully) and expect the other two to be variants. However, with the talking bender I'm not sure if it will be another bender variant. Maybe a Zoidberg variant and a Fry variant?
Who knows but I can't wait and expect to be excited about whatever they announce...as long as they announce something!

Now that I've rushed to post the Toy Fair pics, I can stop and actually look at them! Not counting Morbo and Lrrr who we already knew about, Toynami's gone and revealed a whole lot of bots. After getting so many meatbags, I'm surprised - but pleasantly so! The alien and bot lover in me is very happy. I think in the absence of Toynami doing multifigure sets (yet anyway), I think many of us had not dared to wish for the Robot Mafia figures as it was hard seeing them find room since we downsized from waves of six figures. But lo and behold, in a Toyfair unveiling full of bots, we're getting Clamps, Joey Mousepad and the Donbot as three of the four figures in Series 10 and Series 11. Woo-hoo! And Flexo rounds out the foursome. Well if the Robot Mafia isn't big enough, Toynami went one bigger. Though I speculated that Destructor might be on the menu, I'm blown away to actually see him in all his robot-crushing glory. He looks awesome! So what's the deal on these, when do we get them? Reading the little place cards, here is Toynami's tentative (*ahem*) timeline: Spring 2011: Deluxe figures - Morbo, Lrrr May 2011: Series 10 - Clamps, Joey Mousepad Sep 2011: Series 11 - Flexo, The Donbot ???: ??? - Destructor My guess is Destructor is another "deluxe" figure as no word on the build-a-figure being resurrected and me thinks he's too much bot to spread across four figures. But who knows, if he were to be spread across Series 10 and 11, as well as an eventual Series 12 then sure. But for now, I figure he's da luxe. I want to keep it all positive, as I'm feeling very happy with these. The figures all look great, but I'd just say that the Donbot is looking naked. Fingers crossed they at least give him his hat and his coat if possible (Otto?). I'll be making space on my shelf for all of these. The only one that gives me pause is Flexo. It would be nice if Toynami gave him some cool accessories to sweeten the deal on what is otherwise just regular Bender with a goatee. Suggestions?

Based on the markings on the wall behind them, it looks like Destructor is twice as tall as Flexo. Good spot again. Using those those lines on the wall behind the figures as units, here's the comparative height of all these figures as best as I can tell: Clamps: About 2 Flexo: About 2 Joey Mousepad: About 2.5 The Donbot: About 2 Morbo: Under 3 Lrr: Over 3 Destructor: Over 4 Woah, I may have to adjust the height of my shelf to fit in Destructor in all his awesome largeness. Great to see Toynami going "outside the box" on the big figures. Here's hoping for a huge H.G. Blob at some point.

Amazing....I did not for a second think the entire mafia crew would be made in one go since there are three and I feared Toynami would not think there is enough demand for them. But they did and I am so exicted for them. I also would have preferred Scruffy to Flexo but beggars can't be choosers.
From the pictures I would have to say Clamps looks the best. Don Bot seems to be a bit naked as jabalong pointed out. Destructor also looks really impressive but I do just like Clamps more.
I agree with lemily33 about not waiting on the Tineez. They look cool and as long as they are not blind boxes, I will pick them up instead of the Kidrobot line.
If Destructor is a build a bot (I doubt it though, he is huge) then say goodbye to any hope of accessories.

BTW, when I was waiting for news yesterday, I checked the Toynami website and they updated to show all of the figures already released (to series 9). Except for Roberto.

YAY the Robot Mafia, a few of us had been hoping and discussing these three for a long time, amazing to see them in the flesh, er metal, errr plastic Great work on the pictures and height scales jabalong. Ok, so we have so much to look forward to this year - Morbo (looks amazing), Lrr (looks amazing), Clamps (one of my longtime favs), Joey Mousepad (great looking figure), Don Bot (awesome - hat and coat a must though, cane is smart accs), Flexo (another Bender variant but at least its a new figure if you wish, hey any addition to the range is welcome), Destructor (WOW - what more can i say), and 9" scale talking Bender (this is a got to have in my opinion, nice little variant on the normal range - oh does that say "Winter 2010" as its relese date!?!?). So all in all we have 8 new figures to look forward to! I can not wait, its going to be an exciting time, just hope Toynami dont dissapoint with relese dates this time. In saying that though, there are no tags saying "awaiting licensor approval" as in previous years!? Great work Otto, keep it up. Last but not least The tineez, hmmm - not so much.

Those action figures all look great! I was not expecting to see any of those (aside Lrrr & Morbo) and I'm happy I'll be able to add those characters to my collection! I do miss the build-a-bot thing, but I HOPE that with it gone we'll get some cool accessories. That was a big bummer with URL and Wooden Bender, pretty much no accessories. Quick suggestons: Heads in jars, Nibblonians, Hypnotoad... cool pack-ins I think we'd all enjoy! For the price of the regular figures some more accessories would be really appreciated! Especially for Flexo. I like that he'll be a regular release, he seems like a character that might have ended up as a con exclusive or something but even though he's Bender with a little goatee, I like him and am glad he's in the line! I'm happy to read that Clamps and Joey are possible out already in May!! Also, I'm looking forward to Lrrr and Morbo big time. Great job, Otto! Thanks for the torso info. For talking Bender it does look like it says Winter, but to my eyes it looks like it says 2010 after that. I could be wrong, it's pretty small. Either way I am excited about him! I'm happy to see that he'll have eyes to switch out too! I didn't think he would. The little pvc figures look good, but I'm not a fan of the style they're in. If they had just been done normal, I would want them right now! But I understand why Toynami wants to try something different. If those 3 are packed together for under $10? I might bite. Destructor is for sure cool looking! Maybe he'll come with a Gender Bender figure too? If not, that's okay! That Bender variant is not a the top of my list. Overall, I am very happy to see all those photos!! 2011 will be a great year for Futurama figure collecting!

Tineez, plushies: meh... Everything else: WOAH!! DESTRUCTOR, are you kidding me?! I used to think Santa was huge. Then I thought Lrrr was huge. Now this guy. Dang! This line keeps taking more and more shelf space. Nice to see the whole Robot Maffia. They look pretty good. I like the guns. Joey looks a bit dopey. They should paint his pupils closer together so he looks more like he's looking at something and not just staring into the void. But the figure looks nice and bulky. Clamps is looking psychotic and awesome. Donbot's expression is dead-on but adding his coat and hat would be nice as he does look a bit exposed without them. Regarding Destructor - here's my little theory. We can see that Talking Bender comes in a new and bigger box. I think this box will also fit Morbo and Lrrr. Perhaps the Robot Maffia and Flexo will also come in this big box so they can throw in a big chunk of Destructor. I think he'd be too big to be released in one piece like that. And his torso being backwards means he's made out of seperate pieces. Greatest toy show ever from Toynami! I've never been this happy with their character choices in previous years and I didn't think the line would go on like this. Usually toy lines run out of characters or lose potention but this line just got a whole lot better. Lrrr, Morbo, the Robot Maffia and Destructor are all favorites of mine and now they're all coming to my shelf. Kudo's to Otto and everyone at Toynami!

Quolnok's Figures.com link has come alive with 36 more pictures. Lots of close-ups you can check out, but here's one of most of the display: So those wall lines are for pegholders to hang the regular figures. I'd say the base of the box to the top of the card is four of those lines. If so, then Destructor stands just a bit taller than the current box. That Talking Bender box looks to be shy of four lines - so too small for Destructor. Morbo could fit in it, but I don't think Lrrr could either. So maybe we'll just have different box sizes for different figures. About the timeline, yup Talking Bender says "Winter 2010", which must mean this current winter (ie, Dec-Mar). This corresponds with the Entertainment Earth listing him as March 2011 (though BBTS says May). We all know Toynami's dates are pretty "fluid" to say the least. Though the fact that Talking Bender is shown packaged at Toy Fair suggests the wheels are in motion and maybe he'll appear this season. The flip side of this though is it's kind of a bummer that Morbo and Lrrr are not shown packaged at Toy Fair. I thought they would be since the prototypes go way back to SDCC last summer. This explains why no preorders on these yet. At the end of the day, this line is all about having patience. It's proved to be more of a turtle than a hare, but keeps on chugging along with new figures and this year is looking like maybe it's best ever. So it's all good. And just think, we've got seven figures to look for in the regular/deluxe line now (not counting Talking Bender). But surely, Toynami's kept something up its sleeve for SDCC this summer - let's hope an exclusive and maybe another series revealed? Regardless, the future of this line is looking bright at the moment.
