I cannot wait!!! I was hoping something new would be up in early January but I guess February is the earliest any news will come out.

I'm pretty sure Morbo and Lrrr were initially scheduled for a February release as well. Maybe they will be for sale at the Fair?

I wonder if the New York toy fair will get an exclusive? I only collect this one line so I'm not sure if companies ever release exclusives for this fair or only for the SDCC.

Well, another intruiging post by Otto that will cause many an hour of dreaming up potential new releases. Thanks for that Otto!

That's a fun post, Otto!  Thanks.
Would guessing a Planet Express ship be too big?  That's what my mind jumped to but that seems unlikely.

As far as BIG things go, we know that Lrrr and Morbo are on the table as is Talking Bender, maybe a talking Zoidberg is in the works?  That would be cool.  I'd enjoy a talking Fry also.

Maybe a life size Hypnotoad, with noise and light features!  I sure hope we see that little guy as a pack-in in the regular line too.  Another wild guess, is a 3-pack of Mom's sons.

Although I have one, I hope they re-release Zoidberg to curb the crazy prices from scalpers.  I think that a 7 figure set of the Planet Express Crew would be cool to find a release, but it might be a bit early in the lines run for something like that, that might be too many in one set.  Maybe split it into two, where one set comes with Nibbler and some Bender eyes or a bunch of accessories already released.  I write already released because I picture that being a part of the Encore line.

Okay, I'll stop guessing and making stuff up, just got excited!

As someone who luckily has all the items, I'm more interested in new figures for the main series (not talking ones or encores). A ship would be cool, but I think Morbo and Lrrr were the reference in the phrase "biggest" maybe...who knows. Honestly, speculating is half the fun of collecting.

Scruffy and Elzar, I know you guys are going to be joining my collection this year. I can almost feel it...hopefully.

Totally understand that, Another Head!  I have all the regular released figures and I am more excited about new figures too.  I am though looking forward to the talking Bender since he's 9 inches tall and looks to be another great sculpt from Toynami (plus he'll go great with my 9 inch WOS Homer!).  And true, speculating is half the fun  :)  Good call.
I hope you're right about Elzar and Scruffy too!

I mention the re-releases because I've talked with just a couple friends who seem interested in the line, but don't want to spend the money for the first few waves, so they don't buy at all.  Just trying to think of ways to get more people collecting  :)

I hear ya Gonzo, Zoidberg is ridiculously expensive on Ebay. I wonder if a Zoidberg variant would entice new collectors as well?

"Why not Zoidberg"

I would love a Zoidberg variant myself, and it would be even better if it enticed new collectors as well.

As for the talking ones, I'm not sure about them. Bender does look cool and will obviously sell like hot cakes, but I don't think I will be straying from the main line. Call me old fashioned.

Oh man, Otto's comments really have me excited....February can't come fast enough.

Oooh. So we 're looking at something big you say? While cool, I doubt that a scale Planet Express ship is on the way, also if that's what it was "big" would be a massive understatement, it'd be over 1.5 metres (5ft) long at my estimate. So I'm guessing the scale is more along the lines of some even equally big monsters when compared to Lrrr and Morbo. Something more along the lines of H.G. Blob, Crushinator, El Chupinibre, Hedonismbot, Leegola and someone who I'd guess is one of Otto's favourites based on the avatar; Destructor.

Hedonismbot, HG and Destructor (Delux wave build-a-bot?) would be nice. Whatever it is I'll probably want it.

The only way I will ever have a completed robot devil now, is if I get my hands on another robot devil head. O well sucks to be me. I am looking forward to the future series' though.

Hello everyone. I'm so glad I found this place.  I've been a huge Futurama fan for years and was so delighted when I found out it was returning.  Then I got a Fry action figure for Christmas and I was hooked.  I've have scoured the internet to find every single figure.  So I was very pleased to find this thread and see the excitement surrounding the upcoming announcement of figures.  I've read most of your ideas on what figures you want next and all are very excellent suggestions.  I thought I'd pull from the newest season from some memorable characters.

Nonchalant-o

With some Robo-Hungarian Clowns as his accessories.

The Robo-Hungarian Emperor Nikolai with Crown & Jewels as accessories.

And who can forget, Wash Bucket.

As someone stated before should be an accessory for Scruffy

Professor shpeekenshpell(SP?)

Robot Farnsworth

Doctor Bango

Hermes with BABY BENDER

Basil complete with chainsaw katana sword thingy

Thanks for reading.

Welcome aboard Twist and thanks for the suggestions.

I don't think more Benders are the top of anyone's list at the moment, but if/when another variant inevitably comes I wouldn't be averse to Nonchalant-O Bender. Package him with say three of those little Robo-Hungarian Clowns and I'd be down for him.

Wash Bucket is a good accessory for Scruffy (along with the must-have Zero-G Juggs magazine!) along with a mop or broom. If we got Wash Bucket, it should include a removable transparent stand so that she can be made to hover.

I thought of a Professor Fisherprice Shpeekenshpell figure too when I watched "That Darnk Katz!". At first it seems a bit too random, but since I'd also like to see Bubblegum Tate and Ogden Wernstrom made then why not.

There might be licensing issues with Fisher Price for a figure though. And if we can get around that, then I'm still keen on getting around it for a box set of the Star Trek cast (Welshie!).

Hadn't thought about Doctor Banjo, but sure why not, everyone loves a big, damn, dirty ape. He'd probably make a pretty awesome-looking figure.

Robot Farnsworth I've suggested before too and I still he'd be a cool figure. (Seems like his picture's disappeared from your post, so here it is again.)

It'd probably never happen, but still with the "A Clockwork Origin" episode. this pic caught my eye and I think a "Ascent of Bot" box set would be pretty sweet indeed with lots of appeal to the robo-lovers out there beyond just Futurama fans.

The Robo-Hungarian Emperor and Basil are visually appealing, but I'd rather see some of the bots that have reappeared over the seasons made instead.

Lastly, Baby Bender'd be a great accessory, but we already have Hermes. Maybe we could have a Dwight and Cubert in one package, along with some Hermes accessories like Baby Bender and a Brain Slug. Throw those two together with enough accessories and you probably get enough to make it worth the price of one regular figure.

That's my two cents. Thanks for sharing Twist and if you've got anymore figure ideas...

Read over at The Fwoosh that Wizard is cancelling its Wizard and Toyfare magazines.

So I guess that kills any chance of another Wizard exclusive Futurama figure like blue Zoidberg - not that it seemed like there'd be another as that was many years ago now.

Looking at The Infosphere Futurama figure page, I just realized this line will be five years old this year, going back to the Golden Bender exclusive in July 2006.

It hasn't exactly been prolific, as if you count up all the regular and exclusive figures, it averages out to something like five a year. But if slow and steady keeps this line going, I'm happy.

Looking at the figures on my shelf, I'm happy with what we've got so far, enjoying the ride and have a feeling that with Morbo, Lrrr and who knows what else, 2011 could be the best year yet.

Here's wishing the show and the toy line another five years...

The Robo-Hungarian Emperor Nikolai with Crown & Jewels as accessories.

He has the potential to be one of the most detailed and kick-ass side character figures IF they make him, which I kinda hope they do. I want him to come with that wine glass full of plastic jewels. None of that fake sculpted in crap.

I'm excited about the 9 inch Bender too!  I have the 9 inch Homer from the WOS figures and am looking forward to the two meeting.
I hope that Toy Fair reveals four figures that are on the way and announces some re-releases (again, I have all the figures but I think with Futurama airing new again, familiar faces on the pegs and in online stores is smart).  Announcing the plan for 2011 would be excellent but I'm guessing a couple things will be held for SDCC.

As far as what figures, like most of you I'm hoping for Scruffy!  Maybe a Fry variant is in our near future?  New characters are always the best, but maybe Bender will take a break and we'll see a new Fry?  Just a wild guess.

@jabalong

Yea Bender is pretty over saturated in this line, but I'm sure that they are going to release some variant of him every series because he's the one most fans relate with/like.  So if we are force to have another Bender then I would love a Non-Chalant-O with Robo-Hungarian as accessories.  I love all your ideas.  WELSHIE FOR LIFE!!!! :laff:

@Professor Zoidy

Yeah I thought the same thing when I seen his picture.  He has the potential.  Hopefully the Futurama gang will use him in a few episodes in the upcoming season to get him some more exposure.  I thoroughly enjoyed his character.  I would like to see more of him and Zoidberg together.  They really did make a great pair in the limited time they had together(even though they were both in different bodies)

Also, as most have stated, please do a re-release of the original line.  It's very discouraging for a NEW collector to get into this line unless you got some money.  I've spent close to $1000 putting together my collection because of the ridiculously high prices for Zoidberg.  Hell the blue/mating fin variants are going for cheaper than the original Zoidberg.

Ok here are some of the ideas I posted before, as well as a few others have posted, and a few new ones I've thought about since then.

Here is one I'd like to see in a box set together.
Sith Dorks

Farnsworth variant someone posted earlier.
Greyfarn

Another Farnsworth variant I'd like to see.

An Amy variant.

Out of all those I'd love to see Greyfarn the most (mainly because of my love for all things Futurama & Lord of the Rings)

Here are my two posts that got lost to the server problems.

First, in response to the question of a Toy Fair exclusive or figures to be bought:

Quote
Yup, Toy Fair is just for looking - no touching! Unwashed masses need not show up.  :p

Expect we'll see boxed final versions of Morbo and Lrrr, along with some new prototypes.

And second, in response to some earlier posts:

Quote
Figure ideas aplenty... For the record, as this line gets its second wind and gets ready to go bigger and better with bad boys like Morbo and Lrrr, I'd be just as happy to give the core character variants a rest for awhile. Other than Scruffy, I want more cool aliens and bots. That said, if more variants are on the menu, let's see.

@hobo bot, if it's Fry, I'd be down for Hobo's idea of Emperor Fry of Trisol from "My Three Suns".

Actually, I'd be down for a Trisolian figure, like maybe the imbibed Emperor Bont the Viscous. I think they'd make a striking figure in blue if you could get the translucence going.

So could have Emperor Bont and Emperor Fry as a set or series pairing. Alternatively, could go for a Trisolian toadie, though I think I'm partial to old Bont.

@Marty7787, if there's another Bender in store, as there's bound to be sooner or later, Pharaoh Bender from "A Pharaoh to Remember" is a pretty-cool looking one I'd forgotten about. How about this for a deluxe figure - Pharaoh Bender in his cool chair perched atop a supplicant slave Fry and Leela. The figures wouldn't be able to change pose, but it'd make a cool set piece.

@another head in jar, I'd be totally down for those four: Scruffy, Elzar, Robot Farnsworth, and Jesus Zoidberg. Scruffy and Elzar really should be first up.

In terms of core character variants, Jesus Zoidberg with arms outreached is still my first choice, followed maybe by Emperor Fry then Robot Farnsworth, though Pharaoh Bender would move right up if came with the whole set with Fry and Leela. I like all these ideas really.

While we're talking about variants, anyone have any super cool variant ideas for Leela, Amy or Hermes? How about Zapp and Kif, have they ever had any good variants?

Twist's already reposted his reply to this with some variant ideas. I like young Farnsworth with an afro and dominatrix Amy, though I'd probably still vote for Jesus Zoidberg first as I've liked that idea for awhile.

Oh God, I know I'd buy another Bender if he was a pharaoh. Actually I'd pick up two and give one to a friend who enjoyed Egyptian stuff. I might also enjoy seeing figures of the entire Bender's Game PE Crew, like centaur Leela, dragon Fry and Mom, etc.

What about a Farnsworths Inventions Set? - including Cubert, QT McWhiskers, Guenter with electronium hat and What-If Machine.  A smell-o-scope would probably be too large.  An F-Ray would be cool though.

http://theinfosphere.org/Category:Farnsworth%27s_Creations

I'd also like to add my backing for Elzar, Wernstrom, Scruffy - plus i'd like Dwight and LaBarbra as well.  That way all the  basics are done.  I'd like all the Alternate Universe figures finished as well for completeness sake (Professor, Hermes and Amy).

A weird one would be a "bendable 80's 'That Guy' with Bonitis" with a painful expression on his face!

Two weeks ago I finally got Wooden Bender and URL. Wooden Bender is awesome, and URL too, congrats Otto! I've made a 3D model of URL (Wooden Bender was already made by RebeL fARmeR) based on the Toynami figure using Sketchup. I hope you like it:

On the other hand, a figure I'd like to see is Hedonismbot. I also made a 3D model of him:

There are some other Futurama models in 3DWarehouse, in the Futurama collection
http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/cldetails?mid=dca0eaa92f55e2cba45ca4fba3af7cb
modeled also by GiuBG or RebeL fARmeR. You can find a lot of robots (Bender, Flexo, Gender Bender, Roberto, Devil Robot, Robot Santa, Calculon, Angelyne, 1-X, Masked Unit, Clamps, ...) and some Spaceships, like Planet Express Ship, Nimbus, or an Omicronian Saucer.

@Bender22, those are very cool, do you just do these 3D Futurama models for fun? So this is what a toy designer would do to flesh out a figure design?

Hedonismbot has been flirting with the top of my figure wishlist, but had some doubts as to how the figure might turn out. But after seeing your 3D model, he looks like he'd be great and hopefully we get him made at some point.

Hi jabalong, thanks, this is just for fun. Sketchup is funny, but it is not professional.

I had to solve some 2D-to-3D problems with Hedonismbot, and the arms are perhaps too long, but it looks fine. I offer this model to any sculptboy, hehe.

Another figure I'd like to make a 3D model is Destructor, but it is quite complex and I'm waiting for the Toynami figure (perhaps we get news in a week, from NY...).

We've talked about this before, but I was thinking again about the figure choices in this line versus other Futurama toy lines.

Once we have Morbo, this line will have covered all eight characters in the I-men Futurama toy line: Bender, Robot Devil, Calculon, Fry, Zoidberg, Morbo, Leela, Roberto, Farnsworth and URL. This is not surprising as that was also a Toynami line.

More interesting is KidRobot's Futurama line. With Morbo and Lrrr on the way, Toynami's line will have covered 10 of KidRobot's 12 characters made: Fry, Bender, Zoidberg, Nibbler, Zapp, Mom, Morbo, Leela, Lrrr and Robot Devil, but not Slurms or Sal.

What's curious here is there doesn't seem to be a lot of calls for these two. While there's a lot of noise for a Scruffy figure, I haven't noticed much interest for a Sal Toynami figure.

And while Slurms has popped up in discussions here, he doesn't seem to be at the top of people's lists. They do both look nice though in KidRobot's line.

Personally, I've forgotten about him of late, but actually I'd really like to see us get a Slurms figure from Toynami. As for Sal, I don't know, I'm kind of ambivalent, and definitely want Scruffy first.

How about you guys, what's your level of interest in these two?

I think that Kidrobot made Sal because the figures are in a blind box and you donīt know what character is inside. So, they are not worried about the popularity of the character. Scruffy is more popular.

Although I have one, I hope they re-release Zoidberg to curb the crazy prices from scalpers.

I don't mind the scalpers, honestly, because it means I can still buy popular old figures. I just picked up Zoidberg for $160 including shipping in an eBay auction, but they routinely go for over $200, and that's no one's fault. People are willing to pay that much, so the price is driven up. It's not like the scalpers are responsible for the scarcity. :)

One other interesting note about KidRobot, is that they made 12 figures without a single variant. But of Toynami's 27 figures (not counting "accessories" Nixon and Nibbler), 11 of them are variants. To be fair though 6 of these were exclusives, which we are really bonus figures. So could say 5 variants out of 21 "regular" figures (or 18 if we count the three BAFs as bonuses too).

Is KidRobot planning a second Futurama series? Would be fun to see their character choices again as good food for thought for this line. Also interesting to see if they release figures 13-24 would be if they any are variants. Is there a reason why one line should have a lot of variants and the other few or even none?

Just a different philosophy I suppose. Personally, I'm very happy with some of the variants we've got, but others I'd have rather had new characters made first.

KidRobot is cute, but I don't find them the same collectible value as the Toynami line. They're desk-decorations. Toynami is shelf-decorations. :-)
