These new toys are coming out soon, and you can pre-order them at toywiz.com (They ship in May). Anyway, here are the toys that are coming out (so far): Assortment 1: Fry & Zoidberg Assortment 2: Leela & Zapp Assortment 3: Bender & Kif I am defidantaly (sp?)going to get these toys. The coolest thing about them, in my opinion, is that each one has a piece of the Robot Devil's body in it. It is called a build-a-figure, and if you have all the pieces you can (of course) build The Robot Devil.

Even before the release date of the first wave is finalized (with approximately a month to go) we already know of two variant Zoidberg figures, the Universe A figure: and the underwhelming mating season Zoidberg: The blue variant is slated for an August release and the mating season Zoidberg will only be available at this years Comic Con (limited to only 2000). I'm a bit disappointed with the mating season Zoidberg given it's the second variant in a wave of products with only two core figures and it's a just head switch. Of course the blue Zoidberg is only a colour change. Ho-hum. I wonder if someone could confirm (Bendo perhaps?) the size and model of the previous Comic Con exclusive: Golden Bender. Was the MAC mold used for this model? Either way, is the golden bender model the same scale as these soon to be released figures? I thought that golden bender was the same scale as those windup tin toys but I may have to pick him up if he is apart of this toy range. Thanks Edit: Mating season Zoidberg variant run 2000 not 200

First off a clarification on the edition size of Mating Season Zoidberg - it will be 2000 and not 200 as has been reported on most internet sites. Yes, it appears and I thought I had actually read the confirmation somewhere that the main characters (Fry, Leela, Bender) are the same molds and basically the same figures as the MAC figures released a few years ago. So, they will be the same scale as those figures which should be good, but bad because we already have those figures. The Toynami figures will come with different accessories though. The good news is that Toynami is now free to put their efforts into new molds of new figures not previously seen like this waves Zoidberg. I am a little on the fence on the Zoidberg variants although with the release of Golden Bender the Blue Zoidberg will be a fun figure to have. Hopefully Toynami will continue this trend in some fashion and we get all the Universe A figures. Yak Face, there is a 12" Bender bank out there recently released by Funko Wobbler which is probably more in scale with the tin wind ups. They are also releasing a Golden Bender version of their bank as well. For the first time in I don't know how long I can honestly say there is too much stuff out there for me to buy right now. It's a good thing though. RM

Yeah, I was asking if the golden Bender was the same scale as these figures because if he is I will buy him (and doubly regret not picking it up when he was flooded on eBay).

So is the blue Zoidberg actually for retail sale or an exclusive only available through Wizard Universe or whatever? All of the auctions on eBay say he is limited to a set of 3000.
edit: It turns out that this Zoidberg was only available at Wizard World Chicago Comic Con meaning that, much like the other Zoidberg, it is not an in-store variant like I was hoping. Off to eBay for me.

There's a review of the toys by Michael Crawford (not the actor) here. Fry's head sculpt is definitely better than the old one and Zoidberg is good if short on accessories. I got both of mine for $17AUD (down from $30AUD) and then got them signed by Billy West. When the next waves come out I'll be getting them too.

There is the Blue Zoidberg though. ...How come Zoidy has two variant figures and Fry doesn't get any? Originally posted by Lee Roberts: I really want the Zapp Brannigan figure actually, plus, by having seen these in person I do believe you have to buy Fry, Zoidberg, Leela and Zapp to make up the Robot Devil. I saw the Fry + Zoidberg packages and Fry provided Devil's Head, Zoidberg his body.. interesting. Vice versa: Zoidberg comes with the head, Fry with (half of) the body. The package says you have to buy all six to build the Robot Devil, which looks about right: There's still the lower half of the body, the legs, the arms and accessories to go to complete the figure. Edit: Pictures coming soon, I just have to get hold of a camera.
