These new toys are coming out soon, and you can pre-order them at toywiz.com (They ship in May). Anyway, here are the toys that are coming out (so far):

Assortment 1:
Fry & Zoidberg

Assortment 2:
Leela & Zapp

Assortment 3:
Bender & Kif

I am defidantaly (sp?)going to get these toys. The coolest thing about them, in my opinion, is that each one has a piece of the Robot Devil's body in it. It is called a build-a-figure, and if you have all the pieces you can (of course) build The Robot Devil.   :D

I definitely  :p want all of those, but is kinda difficult if they release each pair of characters in different dates, because I've to find someone that can buy and bring me the toys back to Ecuador where I live... buying them with international shipping is kinda expensive...

I knew something about the pieces of the Robot Devil inside each package... I'm really looking forward to it.

Just a week before May comes!  I might order some myself.  There should be more characters, like Mom's sons, The Robot Mafia, and Morbo!

In addition to the figures listed in this thread there will also be two exclusives released as part of the first wave.  Toynami will have one for sale at SDCC and it will be a variant Zoidberg with a fin on his head as seen in Why Must I Be A Crustacean in Love.  The other variant/ exclusive will be relased by ToyFare and will be another Zoidberg variant but this time it will be blue Zoidberg from the Farnsworth Parabox.

A little too many Zoidberg's (did I just say that?) but the blue Zoidberg will look great with Gold Bender from last year's show and make a cool little subset of figures.

It's June, and I can't find anything about a release date still. Anybody know anything I don't?

Even before the release date of the first wave is finalized (with approximately a month to go) we already know of two variant Zoidberg figures, the Universe A figure:

and the underwhelming mating season Zoidberg:

The blue variant is slated for an August release and the mating season Zoidberg will only be available at this years Comic Con (limited to only 2000). I'm a bit disappointed with the mating season Zoidberg given it's the second variant in a wave of products with only two core figures and it's a just head switch. Of course the blue Zoidberg is only a colour change. Ho-hum.

I wonder if someone could confirm (Bendo perhaps?) the size and model of the previous Comic Con exclusive: Golden Bender. Was the MAC mold used for this model? Either way, is the golden bender model the same scale as these soon to be released figures? I thought that golden bender was the same scale as those windup tin toys but I may have to pick him up if he is apart of this toy range.

Thanks

Edit: Mating season Zoidberg variant run 2000 not 200

First off a clarification on the edition size of Mating Season Zoidberg - it will be 2000 and not 200 as has been reported on most internet sites.

Yes, it appears and I thought I had actually read the confirmation somewhere that the main characters (Fry, Leela, Bender) are the same molds and basically the same figures as the MAC figures released a few years ago.  So, they will be the same scale as those figures which should be good, but bad because we already have those figures.  The Toynami figures will come with different accessories though.
The good news is that Toynami is now free to put their efforts into new molds of new figures not previously seen like this waves Zoidberg.  I am a little on the fence on the Zoidberg variants although with the release of Golden Bender the Blue Zoidberg will be a fun figure to have.  Hopefully Toynami will continue this trend in some fashion and we get all the Universe A figures.

Yak Face, there is a 12" Bender bank out there recently released by Funko Wobbler which is probably more in scale with the tin wind ups.  They are also releasing a Golden Bender version of their bank as well.  For the first time in I don't know how long I can honestly say there is too much stuff out there for me to buy right now.  :)  It's a good thing though.

Yeah, I was asking if the golden Bender was the same scale as these figures because if he is I will buy him (and doubly regret not picking it up when he was flooded on eBay).

First set of figures should be hitting stores any day now.  Toynami has the Fry and Zoidberg on sale at Comic Con this weekend.
They also had the Mating Season and Blue Zoidberg's on display and the MSZ on sale.  He looks great in all his incarnations!
The real gold mine though is going to be Zapp Brannigan.  Toynami had him on display with Leela (great wave by the way) and he looks oustanding!!  He is going to be the hit of this wave for sure.  He will also come with a podium and the Head in a Jar of Nixon!!
Also on display was the fully assembled Robut Devil build a figure.  He looks just as stellar as the rest of the figures.

I am really hoping Toynami continues on with this line as these first three waves are giving us some excellent figures and the sculpts look amazing even if it has only been a couple of new figures introduced.
Go out and buy them as soon as you can and let Toynami know you want more, more, more!

I bought the Fry figure at Comic-Con ('twas sorely tempted to get Zoidberg as well, as his model actually looked better than Fry's IMO, but I'm not made of money, and in the end, Philip wins out over everyone else).  If they had a separate figure of the Robot Devil for sale, I would have bought it in an instant; I think he's the best of the lot.

Sadly, I'm stuck far, FAR away from California and so no Comic-Con for me *goes and cries*. Hopefully, stores like Target and Walmart wil lget these in. I'd rather not go to my local KB toys. Nowdays, they sell a lot of....crap. Refurbished crap at that.

Well, you could always resell it and turn around and buy the Fry figure.  ;)  You might even make a profit if you got the limited edition Zoidy.

I got a new picture of the blue Zoidberg from Wizard Universe and they also offered to give one to CGEF, which we'll be forking over to the CGEF readers in a little contest:

So is the blue Zoidberg actually for retail sale or an exclusive only available through Wizard Universe or whatever? All of the auctions on eBay say he is limited to a set of 3000.

edit: It turns out that this Zoidberg was only available at Wizard World Chicago Comic Con meaning that, much like the other Zoidberg, it is not an in-store variant like I was hoping. Off to eBay for me.

I'm thinking any store like KB Toys would have them, or maybe Hastings (at least mine, they have all this cool stuff that I only see there like the new Futurama bobbleheads, Star Trek figures and so on).

Sorry for bumping this old topic but I have a question, something that's been bugging me for a while. I got my Fry and Zoidberg figures recently and I'm waiting for my pre-ordered Leela and Zapp figures to arrive. Now I can see that Zapp is probably not very poseable, like Zoidy - those arms have no hinges. I just have to wonder, though, does anyone know whether Leela's arms can bend? From the pictures it looks like they might not be able to. I'll be quite annoyed if they can't.

Anyone?

I imagine that they might a little bit, much like Fry's arms do. Why wouldn't they? It wouldn't make sense if they didn't. However, they could make them unarticulate to give a nice and smooth look. Remember that pictures are deceiving. I know this doesn't really answer your question but.... I tried to use reasoning.

There's a review of the toys by Michael Crawford (not the actor) here.

Fry's head sculpt is definitely better than the old one and Zoidberg is good if short on accessories. I got both of mine for $17AUD (down from $30AUD) and then got them signed by Billy West.

When the next waves come out I'll be getting them too.

I really want the Zapp Brannigan figure actually, plus, by having seen these in person I do believe you have to buy Fry, Zoidberg, Leela and Zapp to make up the Robot Devil. I saw the Fry + Zoidberg packages and Fry provided Devil's Head, Zoidberg his body.. interesting.
The Fry and Leela models look the same as previous released figures so that's an obvious make-you-by again there, clever.

I thought that wasn't available any more. It was a ComicCon exclusive wasn't it? There is the Blue Zoidberg though.
...How come Zoidy has two variant figures and Fry doesn't get any?

Vice versa: Zoidberg comes with the head, Fry with (half of) the body. The package says you have to buy all six to build the Robot Devil, which looks about right: There's still the lower half of the body, the legs, the arms and accessories to go to complete the figure.

Edit: Pictures coming soon, I just have to get hold of a camera.
