I was in HMV today and I noticed that the Futurama box sets looked a bit different, so I picked one up and indeed it is... The UK Futurama seasons have been repackaged into slimline DVD cases. It's a good idea as they've always been rather bulky, I'm sticking with mine though. The sad thing is the picture spines are gone now and the back of the box is different too. Just thought I'd share... Seasons 2, 3 and 4 were all in new slimline cases, but Season 1 was the same. I don't know if that has also undergone the change to slimline yet?...

Yeah, season 1 is the same too. I saw it in Virgin a few weeks ago but hadn't seen any of the others.

They've done the exact same thing in Australia since about a year ago -- season one has been changed too,  some stores just sell a few copies of the 'old' versions as well.
I had to get season 2 in the slimline cases, I don't really like them much. The writing on the back of the box, introducing the show, sounds like something that would be put on the back of a 1990's Disney video.

'Set in New New York City in the year 3000, it's a future unlike anything you've ever imagined...unless you've imagined booze-powered robots, semi-literate lobsters, and horrifying yet sexy cyclopses. Someday all comedies will be this funny...but you'll be dead!'

Ugh.
