I thought of pre-ordering the DVD, but thought against it. On August 23, I'll simply wake up early, and call the stores to ask if they have it. If they do, I'll pick it up, and after I get back home from school, watch it. (Instead of waiting a few long days.) [One of the stores I call better have it...]

If you pre-order from Amazon or another big online retailer they should get it to you on release day.

Yeah, I've had games arrive a couple of days early having ordered them online. Amazon seem pretty on time though.

Yeah, but does it depend on what kind of shipping you choose? Because if it does, I'm not gonna pay double the price just to get it on release day, when I could get it cheaper on release day, by simply buying it at the store.

Yeah it will obviously. Amazon's free postage takes a good few days extra. Their first class (or whatever the US equivelant is) should get there on release day.

As a side note, my copy of this DVD is sitting on my shelf, still sealed. Dontcha hate work taking up too much of your time?  :(

Amazon do sell certain DVD's with free shipping but you do have to wait for it. As they already have a 30% discount I guess if you want to pay postage it probably works out about the same as store price.

I bought mine from Play and postage is free as are similar discount retailers such as dvd.co.uk I have no idea about US retailers.

EDIT: a quick search with DVD Price Search shows the best price delivered as $10.67. The list price is $14.98 so thats not bad. Delivery states 3-7 days but I guess it depends what date they get the stock in (Play certainly get theirs early.)

Well I bought it, and I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed because the episode intros are about 5 seconds long.

Apart from that it's a nice DVD with some of my favourite episodes.

Futurama will have a good chance to come back if you BUY THIS DVD!!, July 17, 2005
Fox has already given the green light for a straight to DVD movie to be released in the near future, with a possible second movie. This package is mostly for the FOX big wigs to determine if Futurama is still selling well after all this time. Just like "Family Guy", futurama is traveling the path to revival. If you would like to see futurama brought back, support them by buying this DVD. I know I will.

Hooray!...
So i'm a bit behind..give me a break!..

i will be getting this.. most definitely... yay!..

This sounds like it'll be pretty cool even if I already have the episodes. + it will be good to encourage Fox to bring the show back  :)

I've been meaning to buy this DVD although as i have the whole collection i didnt see the point but i have a question to people that own it, is the audio commerty any good, any new info etc? and the intros etc worth buying it for that? (sorry if this question has been ask/awnserd/ponderd)

also shame it's taking so long to come out in the US keep waiting friends it's not long! peace out.

long live futurama!

There is a new commentary on an animatic for Hell is Other Robots. Other than that, no new commentaries. I'm in the US, so I don't know if it's worth buying just for the animatic, its commentary, and the intros, but I'm buying, to see the new stuff and to support it, as Fox has said that this may be a test to see if they will make movies.

Ya know, after hearing about all the Easter Eggs, new additions and stuff, the only reason I'll buy it is in the distant hope for the show's renewal.

To tell ya the truth, the DVD itself doesnt sound that good...

Them just putting commentaries on this disc puts it above the similar Simpsons collections.  The low price means I'll get it, and the Sting being on here will serve as a nice tuneup for when I can finally afford Volume 4's set.

Edit: I may beg my mom just so I can get more Futurama, even if it's episodes I have  :laff: I can watch them on vacation when I get a portable DVD player and I'm too lazy to serch for the boxed sets and carry less.Seriously good price though

-I checked the Sunday ads in my local paper, and Best Buy was the only one advertising it for this coming Tuesday. Target didn't mention anything, and Wal-Mart and K-Mart didn't have any ads at all.
-Just so I can get this off my chest, Best Buy opens at 10:00a.m. here. That is the time I have to be in school, so I'm hoping either K-Mart, Wal-Mart, or Target will have it, as they all open at least one hour earlier. (I'm not sure about K-Mart though.)

There's not even a K-Mart around where I live, so Best Buy'd be the safest and best bet to find it..Wal-Mart sells stuff a lot more than Target, since it's a few cents cheaper. Doubt Target will have it until after the release..They're usually a few days behind

What day was this brought out? I try checking for it every time I'm in Best Buy, I was in there just a few days ago. So was this fairly recently, I'm guessing.

I also have another question, I was on yahoo.com to check movie times and I saw that this dvd was in the top viewing list. That's rather exciting, but when I can't watch the clips from there. I'm on my mac. Does anyone know if there are any non-windows media format of these clips?

Thanks in advance.

Not that I know of, but I'm not usually looking for that stuff either... The DVD comes out (I think) August 25th (correct me by going to collectorama.murderhorn.com and looking at the top banner if I'm wrong)

-I just got mine, and I have to say, it was well-worth the price.
-The <Disc Intro> was hilarious with what Matt Groening said in the very beginning. The episode intros were also cool as well. The commentary for the animatic was well worth the $10.81 I paied. All of the commentators (especially, in my opinion, David X. Cohen and Rich Moore) sounded rejuvenated. Their voices didn't sound as monotonal as they sometimes were in the season commentaries.
-The original commentaries for the four episodes are not on this disc, but that's OK.
-All in all, an excellent DVD. Here's hoping that this makes enough of a profit that the show can make some kind of comeback.

Somewhat off-topic, but a little funny story. The disc was labeled as being $10.99. But when I went to the cashier, it showed up as $9.99, and with tax, the total was $10.81. I don't know if it was a mistake or what, but all that matters is that I have this DVD. Thank you Best Buy! (I went to Wal-Mart, and as far as I could see, they didn't have it. But Best Buy had it in plain view. [When I walked in, there was a table with all these DVDs, and 'Futurama' was in plain sight.])

Wal-Mart is evil, anyway, you can really see int he commntary's that everyone loves the show. Im watching the commentary for the animatic on Hell Is Other Robots right now and Billy said "Hi Im Billy West and I really miss this show wink, wink" hopefully the show can make a comeback.

Same thing happened to me! I picked it up and was all like "10.99? Aw crap." Then i went to the register and was confused when the final price was 10.81. Best Buy does that a lot. I remember all my box sets having a sticker saying one price but then i paid another.

I couldn't get the easter egg at first either. What I had to do was highlight "Intro" for Anthology of Interest I and press left, not down on "Play All With Intros On."

Yep the "Hint hint"from Billy West was really great. They did that commentary last February! So they must have been talking about the show coming back for a long time now. Can't wait for new info on the next DVD Movie.

So do they talk about the show possibly returning at all, or is there just the "wink wink"?

Anyway I'll probably try to pick this up this weekend.  Normally it would kind of seem like a waste since I have all the sets, but I'd like to have it for that final commentary, and to support the possible movie/return.
