If Ian Boothby is reading this, what's going on with #20?

Let's hope the date doesn't get pushed back again..... I just realised, both US#20 and UK#20 are being released within a week of each other! Although of course UK#21 will be out a long time before US#21.....

There were meant to be 4 US Futurama stand-alone Comics this year, but I kinda don't see how they're gonna fit all those in now...

Unfortunately Swindon doesn't have any Comic book stores, my nearest is 40 miles away in Bristol. Sometimes I'm lucky enough with timing that I either happen to be in Bristol when a new Comic is released, or sometimes I'm in Birmingham. Not this time though...
I phoned up Forbidden Planet Bristol earlier today and asked if they had it in. He said he did, but it just so happens that Futurama Comics #20 UK edition is also out at the moment (because they're cut in half and released monthly they've already got to Issue #20, although it's actually US Issue #15), so he might have got confused with that. I did state I was after the US edition, so if he's right then it's out now, it just depends wether he got confused really, so we don't really know for certain unfortunately...
I don't know why, but Forbidden Planet shops won't take your credit card details over the phone and post them to you. I had to look on the Forbidden Planet website, and it was listed, but oddly enough it had the 9th (which is tomorrow) as the release date. I've ordered it from them, so hopefully it'll be shipping snoon. If not I guess we'll know why...

I got it. As with Verrone's issue that could be read seven different ways, this one also uses the comic format creatively. First, Bender rips a hole in the page itself and climbs through it, ending up at Bongo's studios. I won't go into detail about what the other characters do to fix the problem, but I can try to explain it if anyone doesn't understand it. This issue might not be the funniest one ever, but it's still worth reading.

I like the cover for the 21st issue of Futurama comics for the UK. It might be from the 2006 calender however... don't know as of yet but still, it's brilliant piece of artwork. It the P.E. Crew as their "X-men" spoof from an earlier issue.

Mine arrived today!... It's a good issue, Bender was in one of those unlikable rather than lovable mindsets though. He reminded me of how he was in 'A Pharaoh To Remember', but I guess it was necessary for the plot, and I like that side of him sometimes. What I really dug in this issue was the originality of Bender ripping the page and how it played an important role in the comic. It made for an interesting story, even if the Bongo Comic office did seem a bit forced... It wasn't the funniest issue, but everyone was in character, and there were still a few laughs. The character artwork was often quite off, especially Amy. However the backgrounds were very good. Obviously this artist is better at backgrounds than characters. Also it's always great seeing Lrrr!... 4/5

I found this issue was weird. It had a good storyline and I think Bender was right on character. The only thing that was crappy was the artwork. Like what Otis said, Bender ripping through the comic was good. I really like the cover as well.

On a side note the Santa/Easter Bunny robot scene from 2004 is going to be part of an upcoming issue.

Got mine yesterday, read it, then forgot it at my cousins house (god damnit!). I'll be getting it back by Monday... It was a good issue though, cool storyline, what with the characters being aware they are in a comic book. I wonder if anyone actually did fold up pages 7 through 21.... I did sorta just to understand how it worked, but I didn't fold tight, I'm not that stupid .
