Whilst browsing amazon.co.uk, I came across this.

 http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002UUO8G/qid=1093545032/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_11_1/026-5363824-3444446

Interesting. I didn't think they'd release them all as one set. Still, £56 is a bargain for anyone yet to experience the goodness of Futurama.

Pretty sweet looking package there, although not likely I would pick it up unless there was some type of incentive or bonus item(s) included with it. Any word on if the US will be doing a similar thing?

Wow, that looks like a really cool box. I'm guessing it will just have all the 4 box sets inside it though, or at least the single DVD cases.

I actually prefer having the box sets, looks better on a shelf I think. Unless of course there is some new reason to buy this, in which case I might not have the willpower to resist it.

There will have to be some really juicy extra materiel for me to by this box. Considering I allready have all 4 seasons and all.

If they follow the pattern from the season releases a US box will appear in March next year. Note the qualifier there: if.

While that is pretty kick ass, once again, I see no reason for me to buy it (unless, once I open the box Bender comes out and kicks me in the head, or it contains something equally cool).

£56? What's that in REAL money?  :p

Nowadays it's like double in US dollars.

yeah, in monopoly money it's like $100. :p

the only difference with this boxset is that the discs are held in the slimmer US type cases. that's a space saver for R2 folks, but a bit pointless for R1'ers.

Really, though, that's the ultimate conversion kit gift idea for the uninitiated.

And if they don't like it, it's sheer size makes it an excellent bludgeoning tool!

I'm surprised to see this, but it's really clool. Nothing new though, as far as we know, so I don't really see who this is meant to appeal to? And if there is something new, I'll kick myself...

$100 is a damn good price for all four seasons. If didn't have all of them, I would pick it up without hesitation.

Futufan might know about this.  It would kind of suck if they really did a disc of new extras like he was talking about, but only made it available in this set.  But probably it'll just be the four existing sets together in one box.

This is the first I've heard/seen of it -- my guess is that there's no new features involved. Sweet looking packaging, though ...

I just noticed how cheap that is compared to the separate DVD sets.  They're selling it for about £56, and the list price is £80.  But all four sets together go for £126, with a combined list price of £160!  I checked some other stores and they have similar prices, so it isn't a typo.

hmmm, sounds like a nice idea for the people who want to get into Futurama but dont own any of the DVDs yet.

But as previously stated, I personally would not buy it unless it had some MAJOR extra features.

That really would be the perfect gift, but I dont know anyone in real lfe who would appreciate it. I'd probably end up keeping it myself. If there were bonuses I'd hope they were extra commentary tracks, I'm so addicted to those. A poster would be cool too, or maybe there's magic rings inside!!

Oh the dilemma! I don't have any Futurama DVDs yet and this sounds too good to be true. But still...

I thought I would buy them from amazon.de eventually. From one simple reason: German and Spanish voices. Yeah, I could go with English without any problem, but I'm doing German as my minor foreign language and my sister's doing Spanish so having our favourite show in both of these languages wouldn't be bad at all.
And not to mention that it would be probably cheaper for me when ordered from Germany.

What now?

Do you think there will be such an offer on amazon.de after some time as well? I noticed season 4 hasn't been even released yet there, they have only UK import (and so do they for this pack).

What to do? Wait and get the multilingual version or act and get this one?

I'm looking at tons of websites, and none of them say anything about there being anything special about the box set... other than the box.

[Professor] Pretty tantalizing (sp) though... [/Professor]

Well, I've pretty much "sold" this box set to a friend who hasn't bought any of the DVD sets yet. So he's just gonna wait and get this box when it's available.

I'd buy the set too if i allready hadn't bought the 4 separate season boxes. Would have been lot cheaper to me but, i just couldnt wait after the boxes got released nor did i know a all season box was going to be released...

i only have volume 3, and i'm thinking about hocking it on ebay or half.com and buying this instead. although i think i'd wait for a US release, as I prefer the slimline cases. If there are any extra special features, they don't have their own disc because on the picture of the box it says "15 Disc Boxed Set"

Well, looks like this will lay any hopes of new special features to rest. Unfortunately, it looks like the R2 Project got the following information from Fox's PR.

 http://www.r2-dvd.org/article.jsp?sectionId=2&articleId=6705

Oh well, wonder how long it'll be before someone sells the empty box on eBay. Might be half-interested if the box takes the full box sets, rather than the slimline cases the Region 1 fans got.

That looks awesome, but I can't really see who will buy it- hardcore fans should have at least one (and probably four) Futurama box sets already, and who else but hardcore fans would want to splurge on all four seasons at once?

And it's already on eBay!
I would consider buying it, horrendous cost of shipping overseas aside, but knowing eBay and exchange rates the auction will end at about $5,000CDN.  :D

As previously stated, I'd only buy it if there was a Special Feature disc included. But it doesn't look like it. Perhaps some unmentioned Easter Eggs? (Any Eurpoeans who have this, please tell us!)
Damn though, FOX sure is trying to get money out of Futurama. If they're trying to make money out of a cancelled series, they should realize bringing it back would bring them more money. (If they actually advertised for it.)
And damn them, I just checked the T.V. Programming, and they have the 2-hour season premiere of "The Swan". How wonderful. (I'm being sarcastic of course.)

I actually saw this box in the HMV in Dundee yesterday, didn't think to mention it here though. The box art, as we know, is just recycled from the box covers and disc artwork from the previous season box sets. Plus by my estimation the box can't contain the actual box sets, just the DVD cases themselves.

Still, for a fan who doesn't have any of the sets this would be a great buy.

Just saw a big pile of the boxes in HMV Norwich (I also saw Lenny Henry today! He asked for directions to NatWest! I was talking to a friend, who noticed him, gave directions, then asked him his name just to be sure!)

I had a look at the back, theres pictures of the four boxsets, so it looks like its just what we all already have in a crappy new box.
I think its a great idea though, the release date is perfect, just when people are doing their christmas shopping...

The phrase "complete box set" doesn't look good for futurama's return, but it says the same thing on the family guy season 1-3 set.

I feel kind of stupid, because I haven't bought the episodes on DVD yet, but tomorrow that's going to change. The long awaited box is finally here!
And the timing is perfect, because I actually have the money to buy it! Woohoo!  :D

Sounds good, I have not got seasons 1 and 2 so I might buy it. But the guy on e bay does not know what he's talking about. I don't think all 4 seasons would run for 0 minutes and since when was Katey Sagal the leading role ?. Last time I checked it was Billy West.
