As you could guess by the title I have used a 3d program (3d max 6 to be specific) to recreate the PE building. Modeling on the one side is almost done, but I'm getting a little fustrated, because it is INSANELY hard to get the proportions of all the parts just right. All i build this from is a series of screenshots from the DVD's.

My request therefore is, if anyone could deliver, or point me to, a picture of the PE building that is taken exactly from the side, it would make it so much easier, since i then would only have to scale some of the parts to make them the right size.
Tnx in advance, and here are some renderings of my work so far:

I believe the season 3 DVDs have a 3D fly around of the PE building, which is probably the best thing you could get for recreating the model

What program are you using to make these graphics? and how do you make the cell-shading effect?

Maybe I can help with your side view picture.  I was watching Futurama last night (Go figure! LOL)and I watched "Bendin in the Wind".  There was a nice flyby of the PE building from the side.  I can't remember exactly how far into the show it was but if you need a frame grab lemme know and I'll see what I can do.

I was also wondering how you got it to look 2D?  I've recently purchased 3d Studio MAX and and still learning/fumbling around with it.  Is there a built in toon renderer or something to get it to look 2D?

That is awesome!  But you left out the little balcony thing.  It's where they had the Freedom Tub.  You know what ep I mean, I don't know the name of it.  Sorry.  But that is truly excellent!

With regards to my last post in here, about the balcony thing, you can get a good view of it at the very beginning of "The Cryonic Woman".

Ya :P Nice to see someone using proper programs to create some real nice stuff in here. I use MAX 5 myself. But the consistancy of detial u actually bothered with is awsome. Also, yes, i would like to know what renderer you used to this because it looks shlicker than the usual ink and paint. Also mabey u could post a light rendered image .....something globally lit...

Welcome at PEEL, FFF     :)

Nice to see new PEELers around here, enjoying good art.

By the way: Don't wonder when some people ask you if you are a clone of Otis and Xmpel. Simple (and in the case of those two PEELers even legendary) fact is the use of the same avatar     :D

Oh, and by the way: A click on this smiley here -->   :) will lead you to an informative FAQ page worth a few minutes of stay and reading.

Hi everybody, tnx for all the enthousiastic reactions. Sorry you had to wait so long for this response, I moved to university and on campus just now, wich took some time and work =]
For everybody who was wondering what program i used to create this, it is 3ds max 6, with use of the default ink & paint material.
I did change the default global supersampler to hammersly (f10->renderer->global supersampling) for more accurate and better looking results. A normally lighted image will be posted soon, probably tomorrow.

I will check out the episodes mentioned above, and then continue work on the right side of the building (which isn't done at all yet   :) ) and the rest of the environment.
