I've been working on a Futurama Soundtrack, similar to the Simpsons releases with all the songs from the show on it.

Mostly i've been using soundclips from the site, dialogue and songs, but also recording some of the songs missing myself and editing them with little bits of dialogue for context and just generally adding structure.

The sound quality atm is horr-i-ble, but bearable. If you just want something to stick on and listen to while your doing something that is Futurama related and doesn't require watching a tv screen i think it'll be great.

Because it's only fanmade it will UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES be available for sale, but i'll try to either post it on the web somewhere as mp3 form, or perhaps someone from CGEF can find some space for me? And i'll probably design some kind of printable covers too.

I think Futurama fans will think it's pretty boss... and perhaps it'll even encourage Mr Greoning and Mr Cohen to pitch a similar official CD to executives.

Here the track listing, with a few possible changes to how the final product will be.

"FUTURAMA - TOO HOT FOR RADIO"
[Act I]
1  Fry - Space, it seems to go on and on...
2  Opening theme (original)
3  Robot Devil & Bender - Robot Hell
4  Fry - in profile
5  Group - New Justice League Theme
6  Bueaucrat song
7  Grunka Lunkas - Grunka Lunka Dunkity Doo
8  Group & Beck - Live Tonight On Stage
9  45sec drug trip
10  Group - Pop a Popplers in your mouth
11  Futurama Funk Dance Remix
12  Star Trek - The Real Will Shatner
[Act II]
13  Act break 1
14  Opening theme - scat remix
15  Group - Don't Worry, Bee Happy
16  Stupid Hippies
17  Zoidberg - in profile
18  Branigan Loves pt 1
19  The Velour Fog - L-E-E-L-A
20  Branigan Loves pt 2
21  Opening theme - scat remix 2
22  Nibbler / El Chupanibre
23  Bender - in profile
24  Bender - Folk Singer Extroadinare
25  45sec moon trip
26  Group - TV Party tonight
27  Futurama Rock Remix
[Act III]
28  Act break 2
29  Opening theme - remix 1
30  Leela - I will always love you
31  Donovan - The lost city of Atlanta
32  That guy (Steve Castle) - Safety Dance
33  Group - Xmas Medley
34  Phoaroh and his pets
35  Bender - Daisy
36  Leela: Orphan of the stars - Act I
37  Leela: Orphan of the stars - Act II
38  Leela: Orphan of the stars - Act III
39  Forbidden Zone (mix)
40  Closing Credits theme

Some people will notice there are a couple of remix/fanmade songs on there. It's all designed to create a sense of "fanmade" music.

The "in profile" tracks are a collection of dialogue snippets that are strung together and go for about 3 mins. There is Bender, Fry and 2 for Zapp, one before his "song" and one after. They are kinda structured to tell a little story. We've all heard the hilarious tracks of Ralph Wiggum with just line after line, it's similar to that.

I hope people will let me know what they think, and when i find somewhere to put up the entire thing (it goes for just over an hour, take note executives) i'll let everyone know. Spread the word, i really think people will like this.

Thanks,
Rodney Gordon

I am very interested in this. It seems like you have put quite a bit of thought into it, but I cannot tell until I have listened to it.

How big is it going to be in terms of megabytes?

This sounds very cool! I only hope the size isn't TOO big.. Breaking it up into small pieces solves the problem, so I'm sure it'll work out. Curse my 56K. Nice attention to detail, too.. Elton John and Shatner and all..

Nice work. I’m intrigued, and looking forward to a clip of That Guy going “dun-dun da da dun dun d-da da”!

The whole thing is 57meg... and runs for 1hr 6mins, sticking to my estimates that most mp3s are roughly one meg for one minute of music.

If you were going to download the album on a 56k modem it would take about 3 hours, but it'll be broken up into all the individual tracks... the largest of which being 4.5meg.
