The cell-shaded version of Bender, with the lines in his legs and hands would look just like from the show! Its amazing!!

(I retain my hatred for that goddamn 3ds max cartoon shader. It's so hard to use. May death come quickly to its followers!) I'm doing up a Bender and PE Building in 3DS MAX 6. I've been using the Illustrate! cartoon renderer and is it ever nice. If you want a peek at what it looks like, I've got some of my pics linked on another thread, feel free to check it out. (Bender is a bit out of proportion which I am in the process of fixing, but at least it'll give you an idea what the Illustrate renderer can do) http://www.peelified.com/cgi-bin/Futurama/4-000888/ Awesome pics! How long have you been using 3DS MAX? I just started about 2-3 weeks ago and my Bender model is kinda my guinea pig so I can learn different techniques and such.

Here he is, complete with his stabbin' knife. He was pretty easy to model, given that he's basically just a bunch of extruded shapes. And of course, the obligatory cel-shaded version: Finally, I tried my hand at some desktop backgrounds with Roberto. It's basically just him at a cool angle, so when I say "background", I really just mean "huge picture". anyway, here they are. 800x600: http://www.newmango.com/bumsrock/roberto_bg.jpg 1024x768: http://www.newmango.com/bumsrock/roberto_bg_2.jpg I'd like more requests. Otherwise I have to think of things myself, and I'm far to lazy to do that.

Those Roberto's are truly awesome hobo! More requests? How about: Beezlebot Human Bender Calculon They'd all be pretty challenging and if your previous work is anything to judge by, it'll be the epitome of coolness.

I never wanted to be the 10th guy around here who says WOW or s.th. related... but WOW, great work, awsome... its really good (more then good), although i would recommend more 'emotion' in this scene: I watched it one frame at a time and found out that you moved his body - you should do s.th. like this with his eyes (don't move them, just close them a bit when he aims bender).
Again: THATS GREAT!!!!!!!!

Thanks for commenting, everybody!
Slimmy: I'll cel shade him at some point, but it'll be hard to do because I had some intersecting geometry where there shouldn't be, and the crappy cel shader doesn't like that.
LEX: Thanks for noticing the head movement, It was my attempt at subtle emotion. I'll use the lower eyebrow next time though.
Everyone: Would anyone be willing to write a short, funny fan-fic involving only the robot devil, bender, roberto, and the hobo robot? As you can probably guess, I want to animate it in 3d.
Also, can it involve a scene in downtown New New York? I'm modeling one of the streets.
