Well, this is my first attempt at scan art, so be critical, seriously...  Actually, to tell you the truth, I didn't know this was what scan art was until after I did it. 

Oh, and Fireworks really crapped up the color when I converted it to jpeg.  Does anybody have any ideas on how to avoid that?

That's a really good scan Kloudes!
Try to decrease the jpg compression to get rid of the artifacts (set it to 95% quality, or 5% Compression - depends on which program you use). Or try other files-types like png. For scanart like this (not wallpapers!) you might as wall check out the gif format.

Awesome pic Marcus, very nice work!

Also great scan Kloudes! I really like the .png format, 24 bit for scans with a lot of gradients and stuff like that, and 8 bit for scans like you've done. I'm not sure about Fireworks, but in Flash, the 8 bit .png screws up the colors (almost looks like dithering), so you might want to avoid it.

Also, GFF, awesome scan.

There's a bit of a plot to this one - in fact, it's the first pic of a whole series - but I think it'll be more fun (and I'll get in less trouble with my collaborator if he's reading this [sorry, man - pride of the draw-er, you know me...]) if I don't give it away just yet. Suffice to say, with a little modification, I hope it'll get on FSAC when all done. Comments, anywone?

About the picture: Is Leela's nightdress (nightdress? at least it looks like one) supposed to be skintight? Did Fry loose some weight recently? Is the Prof. supposed to look happy or angry?

To answer various kind folk's questions:

Nope, it's nowt to do with the fic up at TLZ (thx for reading it though, btw!);

toes are magic;

Amy, Fry, and Leela are all wearing clinging hospital gowns (hence the slit in the back)... and it's very cold... and Leela's appearence has _nothing_ to do with a draw-ers self-indulgent reward for drawing a particularly hard background/character poses. Obviously.

Oh, and Fry's hospital  gown is very slimming, and the Professor is the Professor, so who knows what he's feeling

First you need a good image hoster I suggest imageshack, then you simply find your pic with the browse ooption and the first one is usually the one, it should say something like "Post picture on a messege board." Highlight that one and put it in the reply text box, and then BAM! you have it.

Very nice Melly!
Perhaps you should switch to another file-type when you scan pictures without a transparent background, doing that you'll be able to use a better color-palette. Telling you that probably sounds pretty stupid   

@Breeanne: Yeah, I also wish I could draw characters by hand. I can't even draw them with a computer, without having something to copy from
