Synopsis: Leela is kidnapped by NASA to be a sex slave aboard the International Space Station (Hey, after 6 months in orbit, YOU'D find a one-eyed cyclops attractive too!). Fry and Bender try to rescue the hapless Leela from certain doom.

Will Fry and Bender rescue Leela in time? Will they catch the Space Shuttle? Or will they CRASH and BURN?!? Find out later when I post the video of The Great Space Race!

(btw - We're talking Fry and Bender here. I guess you can pretty much figure out what'll happen)     :hmpf:

PlanEx Ship VS Space Shuttle!
Now taking all bets!

(And what do you mean after 6 months in orbit? I'd find Leela attractive when i first met her!)

Although... It is piloted by Fry and Bender...

Fry and Bender get down to business. Even if its only for a few seconds.

Bet wisely.  :D

Yes but even if Fry is piloting, the planex ship is thousands times faster than a crappy, prone to exploding, 20th century space shuttle.

Alright. Heres the video. I hope someone makes a Futurama remix thats longer than 30 seconds, because it's getting boring using the same music over and over.   :D

But don't you all remember TKOS? Fry studied (surprisingly) how to fly the ship. I vote PE!

Neat stuff! By the way, I picked up a 2:15 Futurama Rock version from someone on the PEEL boards some time ago. I don't recall who made it so I don't know if you need their permission to use it but it may fit into your movie well.

Edit: Found it!  http://www.peelified.com/cgi-bin/Futurama/4-000522/
It's near the bottom of the first page of the thread.

But alas, his site is down. I don't know if he'll let you use his remix for your video.

Sounds like to cool idea, but could there be a different plot?  I mean, Leela can kick the crap out of anyone trying to kidnap her.  Maybe a plot like It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World would be better!  There's a race for $1 billion dollars hidden somewhere in the galaxy under a big M, but who's going to get to it first?  Planet Express?  Or Mom and her sons?  That would be a better idea.

Leela may be difficult to kidnap, but not impossible. All it would take is a little cloriform and the element of surprise.

Better plot?! I think Big Jim has the NASA crew summed up to a 'T' with that idea. How exactly does a straight up parody work any better?

The problem I had making this video is I shot it all in real time with no editing. The only thing I did was pause the simulation from time to time to re-establish shots (like the fly by shot). When I finally got to the shuttle, I was flying so fast, I overshot it. Trying to get my bearings back, I found the shuttle way out front and there was no way to gain back what I lost in atmospheric flight.

(Hey, you try playing 'tag' with the Space Shuttle in flight. It's not like you can just slap it on it's ass and say "Your're It" )  :(

The Planet Express really flys fast in space, but in the air, it sucks. :/ Anyway, back to the story.

I just found out that Captain Brannigan is in charge of the ISS. He paid NASA a handsome price to be a "space tourist" but instead took over the station.   :D

I like what I see but I prefer what we don't get to see, if you catch my drift.  ;)
